  • Because of the increasing demand on the high precision and high response of a machinery, electronic control valves are widely adopted at various application fields. This paper studies on the static characteristic of a first-stage proportional pressure control valve. At first an experimental apparatus including hyd. pump variable speed inverter, pressure and data aquisition system was setted up with the experimental apparatus, various tests such as P-Q-W test, hyd, pump, dynamic, static, frequency response test of the proportional valve was carride out and the results are discussed.

  • Recently, the electromagnetic proportional valve has been widely used in order to control pressure and flow in such systems as NC machine and automatic facility. The linear electromagnetic solenoid used for proportional control valve ought to have hysteresis characteristic because of control the thrust force proportionably by input current. Therefore, in this study, we analysis the thrust force characteristics and established design for practical use, which allows Linear Pulse Motor(LPM) to be used as a driving system for electromagnetic proportional control valves.

비례전자 감압밸브의 모델링과 제어 (A Modeling of Proportional Pressure Control Valve and its Control)

  • In this study, a dynamic model of proportional pressure control valve using the bond graph and a predictive controller are presented in the form of dynamic matrix control which is concerned with a design method of digital controller for the electro hydraulic servo system. The bond graph can be utilized for all types of systems which involve power and energy, and it is applied to a propotional pressure control valve in this study. Recently, many researchers suggested that better control performance could be obtained by means of the predictive controls with future reference input, future control output and future control error. The Predictive controller is very practical because the controller can be easily applicable to a personal computer or a microprocessor. This study investigates through numerical simulations that hydraulic system with the predictive controller shows very good control performances.

  • A loader used for uploading materials into truck is a kind of construction equipment. Mainly, a wheel loader is applied to construction work. Recently, an automatic transmission for the wheel loader is used to help drivers get the repetitive works done comfortably. It is composed of geartrain, clutch pack, hydraulic control system and TCU. Especially, a high-performance proportional control valve and its control algorithm is demanded to achieve the shift quality during a change of speed. In this paper, the commercial package program was used in order to justify model of the proportional control valve and simulate it. Steady-state and dynamic characteristics of PCV were analyzed to classify attractive forces and hydraulic control characteristics. This model also was verified the validity compared to the experimental result. Using the developed model, performances of PCV were predicted as studying design parameters.

  • Results of theoretical investigations of the stability characteristics of an actively controlled externally pressurized air journal bearing are presented. Proportional control and derivative control are used for the control algorithm of active air bearing. The stability characteristics of the actively controlled bearing operating at zero steady-state eccentricity is investigated with the step jump method. The speed at onset of instability is raised for both proportional control and derivative control of bearing. Proportional control increased the stability threshold without affecting the whirl ratio. But for derivative control of bearing, stability threshold increase is accompanied by a parallel reduction of the whirl ratio. Results show active control of bearing can be adopted for the stability improvement of air journal bearing.

  • A discrete time model reference adaptive control has been applied in order to compensate the nonlinear friction characteristics in a hydraulic proportional position control system. As nonlinear friction, static and coulomb friction forces are considered and modeled as dead zone and external disturbance respectively. The model reference adaptive control system consists of a cascade combination of the dead zone. external disturbance and linear dynamic block. For adaptive control experiment. the DSP(Digital Signal Processor) board has been interfaced the hydraulic proportional position control system. The experimental results show that the MRAC(Model Reference Adaptive Control) for compensation of static and coulomb friction are very effective.

  • This paper presents the dynamic characteristics of r rotor-bearing system supported by an actively controlled hydrodynamic journal bearing. The proportional, derivative and integral controls are adopted for the control algorithm to control the hydrodynamic journal bearing with an axially groove. Also, the cavitation algorithm implementing the Jakobsson-Floberg-olsson boundery condition is adopted to predict cavitation regions in the fluid film more accurately than conventional analysis, which uses the Reynolds condition. The speed at onset of instability of a rotor-bearing system is increased by both proportional and derivative control of the bearing. The integral control has no effect on stability characteristics of hydrodynamic journal bearing. The PD-control is more effective than proportional or derivative control. Results show the active control of bearing can be adopted for the stability improvement of a rotor-bearing system.

직접구동형 서보밸브의 제어기 설계에 관한 연구 (Study for the Controller Design of a Direct Drive Servo Valve)

  • The direct drive servo valve(DDV) is composed of a DC rotor, link, valve spool and displacement sensor(LVDT) where the spool is directly coupled to the DC motor through the link. Since the DDV is a kind of one-stage valve, the robust controller is required to overcome the flow force effect on the spool motion. The mathematical equations are derived and the stability, accuracy and response speed of a DDV are investigated analytically using a linearized system block diagram. Proportional control, PID control. Time-Delay control, Sliding Mode control, and Proportional control using the load pressure are applied to DDV to find which one shows the best control performance. The digital computer simulation results show that the proportional control using the load pressure satisfies the design requirement of response speed and steady state error regardless of the variation of load pressure,

Low-Band Type 능동형 현가제어를 위한 직동식 전자비례 감압밸브의 개발 (Development of a Direct-Operated Proportional Pressure Reducing Valve for Low-Band Type Active Suspension Control)

  • In general direct-operated pressure reducing valves have been gardly applied to a dynamic control system such as active suspension control because of their poor control stability. But they are more robust than pilot-operated type and do not need pilot control flow. In this paper development of a new direct-operated proportional pressure reducing valve for low-band type active suspension control is reported. By means of a special damper directly linked to the valve spool, the control stability could be effectively improved without drawback in response time. The linearity error was less than $\pm$3.5%. Applied to an experimental active suspension system the new valve showed the $-90^{\circ}$ phase delay at 4Hz with 20% sinusoidal signal input and could control the suspension system with almost same performance as that with a pilot-operated type valve.

  • The proportional pressure control valve(PCV) is an essential component in the open loop controlled rear wheel steering gear of the four wheel steering(4WS) system on the passenger car. The valve should have versatile functions and higher performance. But, it is hard to find the proportional pressure control valve suitable for the 4WS system. In this paper, the determination of the valve parameters was studied by the stability discrimination and the characteristic analysis for the purpose of the development of a new PCV for the 4WS. The mathematical model of the valve was derived from the valve-cylinder system and the programme for numerical computation was developed. The transfer function of the system was obtained from the mathematical model. The characteristics of the valve were inspected through the experiment and compared to those obtained by numerical method. And then the stability discrimination of the system was done by root locus and the analysis of characteristics was done by the developed programme. From the experiment and the analysis of characteristics was done by the developed programme. From the experiment and the inspection, the appropriation of mathematical model and the usefulness of the programme were confirmed. And the parameters which might affect the performance of the valve can be determined by considering the stability discrimination, the characteristics analysis and required functions.
