  • Final purpose of this study was designed to develop the quality control(QC) sample for proficiency analytical testing of asbestos. This study consisted of two parts; first, development of manufacturing apparatus and sample preparing procedure for asbestos quality control(QC) sample: second, validation of the QC samples made by our developed method as asbestos proficiency analytical testing sample. The main results of the first part research are as followed We developed the apparatus for manufacturing the asbestos QC sample, consisted of filter hold, filter holder manifolder, vacuum system, and vacuum pump. The most proper filter of making the QC samples was a cellulose ester membrane filter with 25 mm diameter, pore size 0.8 um. And we presented the optimal procedure for preparing the asbestos QC sample by using the developed apparatus. We will verify the manufactured asbestos QC samples by this method, and present the validation results to confirm the reliability as a asbestos QC sample in next paper.

  • Proper sample preparation prior to microscopy is necessary for maintaining the components of tissues in a state as close to a living state as possible. For optimal preservation of biological samples, the sampling conditions are as important as the fixation itself. Various factors influence the selection and fixation efficiencies of a fixative, including sample size, osmolarity, pH, penetration rate and depth, fixative temperature, fixation time, fixative concentration, fixative amount, and retention time. Therefore, several factors for selecting and administering fixation procedures are evaluated pertaining to optimal sample preparation for transmission electron microscopy.

  • In this paper, the choice of a primary resolution and wavelet basis functions are introduced under random or irregular design points of which the sample size is free of a power of two. Most wavelet methods have used the number of the points as the primary resolution. However, it turns out that a proper primary resolution is much affected by the shape of an unknown function. The proposed methods are illustrated by some simulations.

아산만 저어류 I. 적정 채집 방법 (The Demersal Fishes of Asan Bay -I. Optimal Sample Size-)

  • 1990년 8월 아산만에서 otter trawl을 이용하여 저어류를 채집하여 정점을 대표할 수 있는 저어류 군집 자료수집 방법을 추정하였다. 조사기간 중 총 17종, 957개체, 21,840g의 어류가 채집되었으며, 참서대 (Cynoglossus joyneri), 곤어리 (Thrissa koreana), 쥐노래미 (Hexagrammos otakii)와 민태 (Johnius belengerii)가 출현 빈도도 높고 개체수와 생체량에서 우점하였다. 주야 10회 반복 채집결과 종조성은 주야에 따라 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나, otter trawl 20분 예인의 개체수 자료는 우점종의 경우는 평균에 대하여 $2.2-385.1\%$, 전어종은 $52.2-162.0\%$의 넓은 변이를 보였다 채집면적을 늘려 갔을 때 누적종수는 예인 4회 자료 누적 이후에는 증가가 둔화되었고 종다양성지수는 3회 이후 거의 점관선에 도달하였다. 개체수의 평균에 대한 분산은 자료를 누적시켰을 때 감소하여 4회 이후에는 자료가 Poisson 분포 양상을 보였다. Otter trawl을 이용하여 아산만 저어류를 채집할 때 20분 예인 4회 이상의 자료를 합하면 정성, 정량적으로 한 조사정점을 대표할 수 있는 것으로 판단된다.

Garment Label과 소비자관심에 관한 연구 (Study of Consumer's Interest in Garment Label)

  • This study was designed to find out consumer's interest in garments label and to help home economists make interest for the further study in relation between producers and consumers as gap bridger. The questionnair method was used to obtained the data which was made by a result of self-administered questionnair. A size of random sample for this research was 364 subjects. The study found the following: (1) Most of consumers are relatively interested in garments label. The most concious age level was woman of fourty. (2) The most interest factor was label of size, price, fiber contents. brand name, directions and precautions on proper use and care. (3) The order of complaining item after washing was change of size, and color, seam pucker. deformation of collar. and button. (4) Most of consumers do not follow the direction when they clean their garments. (5) The respondents seem to be not understand the garment's informative label.

바이오 시료의 적정온도 사이클 유지를 위한 채널형 히트싱크에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Channel Type Heat Sink to Maintain Proper Temperature Cycle of Bio-Sample)

  • This study was conducted experimentally to investigate the surface temperature of the heat sink, the air temperature in the flow channel and the sample temperature by changing the channel number of channel type heat sink and the air flow rate when heating and cooling the bio sample. The target temperature of the sample was 15℃ or less as the minimum value and 82℃ or more as the maximum value. In this study, the channel number of the heat sink(N = 1, 2, 4, 5, 10) and the air flow rate(Q=25, 42, 54m3/min) were varied. The bio sample was replaced with water, and the volume of water is 4mL. The size of the heat sink is 80x73x150mm and the material is aluminum. When cooling the sample, the surface temperature, the air temperature and the sample temperature were highly dependent on the number of channels and the flow rate. However, when the sample is heated, the surface temperature, air temperature and sample temperature do not depend on the number of channels and the flow rate. It was found that the conditions for satisfying the minimum temperature of 15℃ or less when cooling the sample were the number of channels N≥5 and the flow rate Q≥42m3/min. When heating the sample, the conditions to satisfy the maximum temperature of 82℃ or more are the number of channels N≤5 and the air flow rate Q≤42m3/min.

A 2-D numerical research on spatial variability of concrete carbonation depth at meso-scale

  • This paper discusses the spatial variability of the carbonation depth caused by the mesoscopic structure of the concrete and the influence of the spatial variability on the thickness of the concrete cover. To conduct the research, a method to generate the random aggregate structure (RAS) based on polygonal particles and a simplified numerical model of the concrete carbonation at meso-scale are firstly developed. Based on the method and model, the effect of the aggregate properties including shape, content and gradation on the spatial variability of the carbonation depth is comprehensively studied. The results show that a larger degree of the spatial variability will be obtained by using (1) the aggregates with a larger aspect ratio; (2) a larger aggregate content; (3) the gradation which has more large particles. The proper sample size and model size used in the analysis are also studied. Finally, a case study is conducted to demonstrate the influence of the spatial variability of the carbonation depth on the proper thickness of the concrete cover. The research in this paper not only provides suggestions on how to decrease the spatial variability, but also proposes the method to consider the effect of the spatial variability in designing the thickness of the concrete cover.

하이패스 DSRC 기반의 경로통행시간 산정을 위한 공간적 집계방안 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spatial Aggregation Method for Path Travel Time Estimation using Hi-Pass DSRC System)

  • PURPOSES : This investigational survey is to observe a proper spatial aggregation method for path travel time estimation using the hi-pass DSRC system. METHODS : The links which connect the nodes of section detectors location are used for path travel time estimation traditionally. It makes some problem such as increasing accumulation errors and processing times. In this background, the new links composition methods for spatial aggregation are considered by using some types of nodes as IC, JC, RSE combination. Path travel times estimated by new aggregation methods are compared with PBM travel times by MAE, MAPE and statistical hypothesis tests. RESULTS : The results of minimum sample size and missing rate for 5 minutes aggregation interval are satisfied except for JC link path travel time in Seoul TG~Kuemho JC. Thus, it was additionally observed for minimum sample size satisfaction. In 15, 30 minutes and 1 hour aggregation intervals, all conditions are satisfied by the minimum sample size criteria. For accuracy test and statistical hypothesis test, it has been proved that RSE, Conzone, IC, JC links have equivalent errors and statistical characteristics. CONCLUSIONS : There are some errors between the PBM and the LBM methods that come from dropping vehicles by rest areas. Consequently, this survey result means each of links compositions are available for the estimation of path travel time when PBM vehicles are missed.

Wall slip of vaseline in steady shear rheometry

  • The steady shear flow properties of vaseline generally used as a base of the pharmaceutical dosage forms were studied in the consideration of wall slip phenomenon. The purpose of this study was to show that how slip may affect the experimental steady-state flow curves of semisolid ointment bases and to discuss the ways to eliminate (or minimize) wall slip effect in a rotational rheometer. Using both a strain-controlled ARES rheometer and a stress-controlled AR1000 rheometer, the steady shear flow behavior was investigated with various experimental conditions ; the surface roughness, sample preparation, plate diameter, gap size, shearing time, and loading methods were varied. A stress-controlled rheometer was suitable for investigating the flow behavior of semisolid ointment bases which show severe wall slip effects. In the conditions of parallel plates attached with sand paper, treated sample, smaller diameter fixture, larger gap size, shorter shearing time, and normal force control loading method, the wall slip effects could be minimized. A critical shear stress for the onset of slip was extended to above 10,000 dyne/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The wall slip effects could not be perfectly eliminated by any experimental conditions. However, the slip was delayed to higher value of shear stress by selecting proper fixture properties and experimental conditions.

예비교사들의 통계적 표집에 대한 이해 (Pre-service Teachers' Understanding of Statistical Sampling)

  • 본 연구에서는 예비교사들의 통계적 표집에 대한 이해를 조사하였다. 먼저 선행 연구를 바탕으로 표집의 이해와 관련된 주요 주제를 표본의 대표성, 표집 변이성, 표집분포로 구분하고, 각각의 주요 주제에 대한 세부 개념 요소들을 선정하였다. 이에 대한 예비교사들의 이해를 조사한 결과 대부분의 예비교사들이 편의를 일으키지 않는 무작위 추출이 표집방법으로 적절함을 이해하고 있었으나 약 64%의 예비교사들만이 표본을 모집단의 준비례적 축소버전으로 인식하고 있었다. 표집에서 표본이 모집단에서 차지하는 비율보다 표본의 크기 자체가 중요함을 인식하는 예비교사는 극소수에 불과했으며, 조사 대상의 절반에 해당하는 예비교사들만이 신뢰할 수 있는 결과를 도출하기 위해 전체 표본의 크기가 아니라 표집 횟수가 중요함을 인식하였다. 그리고 표집분포는 모집단 분포의 형태와 무관하게 모집단의 평균을 중심으로 대칭적인 형태를 나타낸다는 것을 이해하는 예비교사는 매우 적었다.
