In particular, various algorithms, such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, and Q-learning, are continuously being improved. Among these algorithms, the expansion of deep learning is rapidly changing. Nevertheless, machine learning algorithms have not yet been applied in several fields, such as personal authentication technology. This technology is an essential tool in the digital information era, walking recognition technology as promising biometrics, and technology for solving state-space problems. Therefore, algorithm technologies of deep learning, reinforcement learning, and Q-learning, which are typical machine learning algorithms in various fields, such as agricultural technology, personal authentication, wireless network, game, biometric recognition, and image recognition, are being improved and expanded in this paper.

Magnetic fields are an important ingredient of galaxy clusters and are indirectly observed on cluster scales as radio haloes and radio relics. One promising method to shed light on the properties of cluster wide magnetic fields is the analysis of Faraday rotation maps of extended extragalactic radio sources. We developed a Fourier analysis for such Faraday rotation maps in order to determine the magnetic power spectra of cluster fields. In an advanced step, here we apply a Bayesian maximum likelihood method to the RM map of the north lobe of Hydra A on the basis of our Fourier analysis and derive the power spectrum of the cluster magnetic field. For Hydra A, we measure a spectral index of -5/3 over at least one order of magnitude implying Kolmogorov type turbulence. We find a dominant scale of about 3 kpc on which the magnetic power is concentrated, since the magnetic autocorrelation length is ${\lambda}_B = 3 {\pm} 0.5\;kpc$. Furthermore, we investigate the influences of the assumption about the sampling volume (described by a window function) on the magnetic power spectrum. The central magnetic field strength was determined to be ${\~}7{\pm}2{\mu}G$ for the most likely geometries.
This study aims to derive a technology development roadmap in related fields by utilizing patent documents of financial technology. To this end, patent documents are extracted by dragging technical keywords from prior research and related reports on financial technology. By applying the TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency) technique in the extracted patent document, which is a text mining technique, to the extracted patent documents, the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) algorithm was applied to identify the keywords and identify the topics of the core technologies of financial technology. Based on the proportion of topics by year, which is the result of LDA, promising technology fields and convergence fields were identified through trend analysis and similarity analysis between topics. A first-stage technology development roadmap for technology field development and a second-stage technology development roadmap for convergence were derived through network analysis about the technology data-based integrated management system of the high-dimensional payment system using RF and intelligent cards, as well as the security processing methodology for data information and network payment, which are identified financial technology fields. The proposed method can serve as a sufficient reason basis for developing financial technology R&D strategies and technology roadmaps.
Recently, with continuous developments in the field of materials science, graphene oxide (GO) has emerged as a promising material with excellent electrical, thermal, mechanical, and optical properties, which play important roles in most fields. Researchers have achieved considerable progress with graphene. Chitosan (CS) is a natural polymer that has been studied intensively owing to its specific formation, high chemical resistance, and excellent physical properties. These outstanding properties have led to its universal use in applications such as textile fabrics, tissue engineering, medicine and health, coatings, and paints. By combining the advantages of GO and CS, different types of promising materials can be obtained. This review discusses the preparation of GO-CS fibers, hydrogel and aerogel, and the applications of GO-CS nanocomposites. In addition, directions for future research on graphene material composites are discussed.
Polymer brush is a soft material unit tethered covalently on the surface of scaffolds. It can induce functional and structural modification of a substrate's properties. Such surface coating approach has attracted special attentions in the fields of stem cell biology, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine due to facile fabrication, usability of various polymers, extracellular matrix (ECM)-like structural features, and in vivo stability. Here, we summarized polymer brush-based grafting approaches comparing self-assembled monolayer (SAM)-based coating method, in addition to physico-chemical characterization techniques for surfaces such as wettability, stiffness/elasticity, roughness, and chemical composition that can affect cell adhesion, differentiation, and proliferation. We also reviewed recent advancements in cell biological applications of polymer brushes by focusing on stem cell differentiation and 3D supports/implants for tissue formation. Understanding cell behaviors on polymer brushes in the scale of nanometer length can contribute to systematic understandings of cellular responses at the interface of polymers and scaffolds and their simultaneous effects on cell behaviors for promising platform designs.
Bulk hetero junction (BHJ) polymer solar cells (PSCs) are one of the most promising fields as alternative energy source. Especially, the development of new p-type conjugated polymer is one of the main issues to get core technology. In this study, a series of varied ratio of 3,6-carbazole in poly[9-(heptadecan-9-yl)-9H-carbazole-2,7-diyl-alt-(5,6-bis-(octyloxy)-4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)benzo-[1,2,5]-thia-diazole)-5,5-diyl] were designed and synthesized. These polymers have good solubility and film formability than PCDTBT which is well known promising material. Investigation of the photovoltaic properties of these new polymers indicated that polymer with 2% of 3,6-carbazole provided higher PCE (3.8% to 4.9%) with enhanced JSC, FF, VOC. We found origin of this improvement using several methods, one of which is reduced bimolecular recombination in polymer.
1FSD is a 28-residue designed protein with a ${\beta}{\beta}{\alpha}$ motif. Since this protein displays most essential features of protein structures in such a small size, this model protein can be an outstanding system for evaluating the balance in the propensity of the secondary structures and the quality of all-atom protein force fields. Particularly, this protein would be difficult to fold to its correct native structure without establishing proper balances between the secondary structure elements in all-atom energy functions. In this work, a series of the recently optimized five amber protein force fields [$ff03^*$, $f99sb^*$-ildn, ff99sb-${\phi}^{\prime}$-ildn, ff99sb-nmr1-ildn, ff99sb-${\Phi}{\Psi}$(G24, CS)-ildn] were investigated for the simulations of 1FSD using a conventional molecular dynamics (MD) and a biased-exchange meta-dynamics (BEMD) methods. Among those tested force fields, we found that ff99sb-nmr1-ildn and ff99sb-${\Phi}{\Psi}$(G24, CS)-ildn are promising in that both force fields can locate the native state of 1FSD with a high accuracy (backbone rmsd ${\leq}1.7{\AA}$) in the global free energy minimum basin with a reasonable energetics conforming to a previous circular dichroism (CD) experiment. Furthermore, both force fields led to a common set of two distinct folding pathways with a heterogeneous nature of the transition state to the folding. We anticipate that these force fields are reasonably well balanced, thereby transferable to many other protein folds.
Spatial models suitable for describing the evolving random fields in climate and environmental systems have been developed by many researchers. In general, rainfall in South Korea is highly variable in intensity and amount across space. This study characterizes the monthly and regional variation of rainfall fields using the spatial modeling. The main objective of this research is spatial prediction with the Bayesian hierarchical modeling (kriging) in order to further our understanding of water resources over space. We use the Bayesian approach in order to estimate the parameters and produce more reliable prediction. The Bayesian kriging also provides a promising solution for analyzing and predicting rainfall data.
High Voltage High Current Pulsed Electric Fields (HVHC-PEF) is a promising technology for the non-thermal pasteurization of foods and a sound complement or replacement to traditional thermal pasteurization, which inactivates bacteria and other microorganisms harmful to humans, but also degrades color, flavor, texture and nutrients. Foods can be pasteurized with pulsed electric fields at ambient or refrigerated temperatures for a short treatment time of seconds or less and the fresh-like quality of food is preserved. Although successful is laboratory tests, applying HVHC-PEF to food pasteurization on a large scale presents many unresolved engineering problems. In this paper the design considerations for 25kV 1kA class HVHC-PEF pasteurization equipment are anlyzed and experimental results are discussed.
