  • The purpose of this study is to know the value of the photographic subtraction technic in the transcranial oblique lateral projection of the TMJ. The author examined the transcranial oblique lateral projection radiographs which comprise 50 cases of 32 persons, compared the transcranial oblique lateral projection films and those subtraction films. The following results were obtained. 1) The condyle at closed jaw position had showed a reversed tone image, but the condyle at the opening position had showed a re-reversed ordinary image. Both condyles had showed one subtraction film because radiographic interpretation of TMJ was easy. 2) On 50 cases of subtraction films, 46 cases had showed same radiographic images compared with trascranial oblique lateral projection films. Four cases (3 cases of erosion, 1 cases of sclerosis) had showed additional changes of images so that capability of interpretation was improved.

  • Epipolar images have to be generated to stereo display aerial images or satellite images. Pushbroom sensor is used to acquire high resolution satellite images. These satellite images have curvilinear epipolar lines unlike the epipolar lines of frame images, which are straight lines. The aforementioned fact makes it difficult to generate epipolar images for pushbroom satellite images. If we assume a linear transition of the sensor having constant speed and attitude during image acquisition, we can generate epipolar images based on parallel projection model (2D Affine model). Recent high resolution images are provided with RPC values so that we can exploit these values to generate epipolar images without using ground control points and tie point. This paper provides a procedure based on the parallel projection model for generating epipolar images directly from a stereo IKONOS images, and experimental results.

  • Noncontact measuring methodology of 3-dimensional profile using CCD camera are very attractive because of it's high measuring speed and it's high sensitivity. Especially when projecting a grid pattern over the object, the captured image have 3 dimensional information of the object. Projection moire extract 3-D information with another grid pattern in front of CCD camera. However phase measuring profilometry(PMP) obtain similar results without additional grid pattern. In this paper, the projection moire are compared with the PMP mathematically, and it is shown that PMP can generate moire image with simple mathematical computations. Experimental works are also carried out showing the same results. It is shown that using a single gird pattern, moire image can be obtained directly without any mathematical operation when some conditions are satisfied.

  • This study presents method for self-calibration of the SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) stereo image using the standard microprobe with same grid pattern and using parallel and central perspective projection equation. Result showed that parallel projection method is more suitable for standard microprobe. The maximum error of 3D coordinates acquired by this method did not exceed 5 $\mu\textrm{m}$, and DSM(Digital Surface Model) for three dimensional measurement of the rock sample was generated by the digital photogrammetry. This result can be used for quantification of micro scale change of shape and analysis of the micro morphology of rock due to weathering.

  • A new configuration of LCD projectors for polarized stereoscopic projection having no light loss in the polarization process is suggested. In the proposed system, two polarizing filters that are employed in the conventional LCD polarized stereoscopic projection system causing additional light loss and image distortion are excluded by taking into account of polarization property of the LCD projector and image processing techniques. From some experimental results by using the Type-1 LCD projectors of NEC MT 1060R, light loss of the proposed system occurring in the polarization process is found to be zero and the resultant stereoscopic video image projected from this system is also found to be 213%, 75% and 300% brighter than those projected from the conventional Type-1 LCD projector-based, Type-2 LCD projector-based and Type-3 projector-based systems, respectively.

  • In this paper we investigate the projections of bouquet graph B with two cycles. A projection of B is said to be trivial if only trivial embeddings are obtained from the projection. It is shown that, to cover all nontrivial projections of B, at least three embeddings of B are needed. We also show that a nontrivial projection of B is covered by one of some two embeddings if the image of each cycle has at most one self-crossing.

  • Texture provides an important source of information about the local orientation of visible surfaces. In this study the 3D shape of a textured surface is recovered from its perspective projection image on the assumption that the texture is homogeneously distributed. To recover 3D structure, the distorting effects of the perspective projection must be distinguished from properties of the texture. In this study, paraperspective projection, approximation of perspective projection, has employed.

  • This study describes the time domain imaging algorithm which can be well applied to short-range UWB(ultra wideband) bistatic radar. In the imaging method of SAR technology, the frequency domain method is well applied to the areas which satisfy far-field condition. However in the near-field environment, the image quality is not good due to phase error. However back-projection method based on time domain is well applied to short-range imaging radar. Meanwhile because its processing time is very long, real time-processing is very difficult. To resolve this problem FFBP(Fast Factorized Back-Projection) was proposed. Using the raw data gathered on field we implemented back-projection and FFBP method. Then image quality and processing time were analyzed using these methods.
