PLC를 이용한 원자력 발전소의 Dual Tower Dryer 운전 적용에 관한 연구 (An Application of a PLC to a Control System for a Dual Tower Dryer in Nuclear Power Plant)

  • 본 논문은 CANDU 형 원자력 발전소의 Dual Tower 종수증기 회수 계통을 경제적, 효율적으로 운천하기 위하여 PLC를 사용한 제어기를 개발한다. 기계식 타이머와 릴레이를 사용한 기존의 제어기의 문제점을 분석하고 해결힘으로써 향상된 운전 성능을 제공한다. 개발된 제어가는 PLC의 기능을 이용하여 시간제어와 노점제어를 결합한 형태의 제어 알고리즘 채용하고 각종 감시 및 보호기능을 추가함으로써 더욱 정밀하고 안전한 운전기능을 제공한다. 제안된 제어기를 사용함으로쩌 운전비용 및 성능 측면에서의 최적화를 얻을 수 있다.

자외선램프를 이용한 선박평형수 처리시스템의 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of a Ballast Water Treatment System Using UV Lamps)

  • The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has adopted the ballast water management convention at a diplomatic conference in early 2004 that all ships should be equipped with a treatment system from 2010 gradually. In this paper, the disinfection characteristic of ultra-violet (UV) rays was studied and a ballast water treatment system (BWTS) which can treat $50m^3$/h sea water was manufactured. The system consists of a disinfection chamber with six 3.5 kW UV lamps which are operated by magnetic ballasts, a programmable logic controller (PLC) and set of pipe lines. The biological disinfection efficacy of the prototype BWTS was evaluated following the IMO rules using zooplankton such as Artemia and Rotifer species for the size over $50{\mu}m$, and phytoplankton such as Tetraselmis and Thalassiosira species for the size between 10 to $50{\mu}m$. From the experimental results, the disinfection efficacy was 99.99 % that meets the IMO requirement. However, more studies on an energy saving system are needed because the consumption power of the prototype system is as high as over 21 kWh for $50m^3$/h.

  • Fa SI(Sysrem Intergration)분야에 있어서 PLC(Programmable Logic Controller)와 컴퓨터간의 접속은 필수 불가결한 요소기술로 자리잡고 있으며, 이러한 기술변화에 맞춰서 기존 유니트의 기술적 발전뿐 아니라 타 유니트와 접속등의 네트워킹에 관련된 내용이 하드웨어, 소트프웨어적으로 발전되고 있는 추세이다. 시스템통합을 하기 위해서는 기본적으로 PLC Networking을 하드웨어, 소프트웨어적으로 수행하여야 하나, 많은 연구들이 PLC 통신 유니트의 기술적 향상 및 표준화에 대한 부분으로 되어왔었다. 본 논문은 정보시스템을 구축할 때 PLC에서 처리하여야 하는 데이터, 혹은 컴퓨터와 송수신 받아야 하는 자료들에 대한 내용과 이들 자료를 PLC 내부에서 처리하는 방법론에 대해 기술코자 한다. 일반적인 Interface 방법으로 접점연결(Point to Point Connection)과 컴퓨터링크유니트에 대한 내용을 파악해보고, 설비고장진단 및 이상발생에 대한 추적이 가능하도록 PLC Memory내에 PLC접점데이타를 직접접근방식(Direct Accssing Method)과 간접접근방식 (Indirect Accssing Method)으로 구분하고, 간접접근방식을 요소(Element), 동작(Event)에 의한 방법론을 이용하여 PLC DATA를 처리토록 하는 내용을 설명하고자 한다.

  • Design methods for sequence flow controllers play an important role in industrial automation. To design a flexible, reusable, and maintainable control software has become a key issue nowadays. Petri net has been emerging as an important tool to provide an integrated solution for modeling, analysis, simulation, and control of industrial automated systems recently. This paper describes an international standard of programming languages for programmable logic controllers, IEC 1131-3 SFC( Sequential Function Chart), and the sequence flow control method for an SFC using a Petri net-like model.

가상 PLC 에뮬레이터 개발 (Development of virtual PLC Emulator)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 저가의 시율레이션용 툴을 개별하는데 있다. 따라서 PLC 프로그랩을 편집하고 모니터할 수 있는 PLC 프로그랩 모듈과, 가상 PLC 시스템과 시뮬레이션 장비를 개발하였다. PLC 모듈과 시뮬레이션 장비는 상호간 링크가 되어 있어서 PLC 프로그랩에 의하여 실시간으로 제어가 가능하고, 마치 실제 설비가 동작이 되는 것과 같은 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 제안한 새로운 툴을 이용하면 모니터상에서 PLC 시스템을 구성하고 가상기계의 응답을 볼 수 있기 때문에 PLC와 기계를 준비할 필요가 없다. 개발된 프로그랭의 타당성올 증명하기 위하여 엘리베이터와 자동 원료 계량 시스템의 PLC 프로그램올 대상으로 실험을 행하였다. 실험결과 개발한 PLC 에율레 이터에 의해 PLC 프로그램 작성 및 가상기계 동작을 통한 PLC프로그램 검증과정이 원할이 이루질 수 있음올 확인하였다.

그린산업 육성을 위한 농업분야 IT융합기술 (IT Convergence Technology in Plant Growing for Low-Carbon Green Industry)

  • Recently, The Bali Road Map was approved, as it demands that developing countries should also have the responsibility of greenhouse gas reduction from 2013. This suggests that the greenhouse gas and environment should be controlled across industry sectors. Accordingly, this study was conducted to identify the application and effects of the IT convergence technology to the smart farm and realize the low-carbon green industry in Korea. The smart farm technologies within and outside of Korea were comparatively analyzed for the low-carbon green industry policy. The study subjects were determined to propose the necessity of the study efficiently. First, the studies on the smart farm for low-carbon green industry policy were examined. Second, the suitable IT technology for the smart farm as well as the effect and the improvement plan of the IT technology-based smart farm system were examined. This study now aims to promote the low-carbon green industry policy and IT convergence technology and job creation. These will be achieved by providing the plan for linking the system simulator organization with the low-carbon green industry policy.

스마트 제조를 위한 Cortex-M 기반 임베디드 시스템 개발 (Development of Embedded System Based Cortex-M for Smart Manufacturing)

  • Small-scale production control systems for smart manufacturing are becoming increasingly necessary as the manufacturing industry seeks to maximize manufacturing efficiency as the demand for customized product production increases. Correspondingly, the development of an embedded system to realize this capability is becoming important. In this study, we developed an embedded system based on an open source system that is cheaper than a widely applied programmable logic controller (PLC)-based production control system that is easier to install, configure, and process than a conventional relay control panel. This embedded system is system is based on a low-power, high-performance Cortex M4 processor and can be applied to smart manufacturing. It is designed to improve the development environment and compatibility of existing PLCs, control small-scale production systems, and enable data collection through heterogeneous communication. The real-time response characteristics were confirmed through an operation test for input/output control and data collection, and it was confirmed that they can be used in industrial sites.

아날로그 신호처리를 위한 NCS 기반 기술교육 프로그램 개발 (Development of NCS-Based Technical Education Program for Analog Signal Processing)

  • Vocational education needs to be transformed to cultivate talents with diverse fusion competencies, which is in line with the recent changes that have become a part of the complex technological developments in the 4th Industrial Revolution. Therefore, it is very important for college graduates to obtain employment skills as they are required to prepare for careers within the complex environments of future societies. With the transition to the Internet of Things (IoT)-based control in the manufacturing industry, the development of technological education and related training programs is required to cultivate practical talents for students who have acquired not only the information on existing programmable logic controller (PLC)-based technology, but also that on embedded programming technology. Therefore, to develop an NCS-based education program for analog signal processing to ensure that programming can easily be learned for cultivating practical talent, this study summarizes the opinions of field experts, selects the appropriate NCS competency unit, and designs an adequate technology education training program.

  • Since it has an advantage of possibility to control using experimentally given coefficient, PID Control is the most widely used method of control in the field of industry. However, since PID controller is not able to reflect the inherent characteristics of individual systems, it needs to be accompanied by additional techniques to supplement. Also, it has disadvantage that it is hard to find a satisfactory coeffi cient when the state of the system's dynamic characteristics and static characteristics are different each other. When the dynamic one shows up, it means the state of system shows a great amount of difference from that of desired such as the moment of beginning control or change of desired state. But, if the state of the system comes close to the desired state, the static characteristics shows up in the system. There are many solutions suggested to overcome problems according to the conversion of two examples of motion shown above. This paper is to confirm PID control's integration ingredient windup phenomenon, and experiment through technique of pre vention of windup actually using PLC(Programmable Logic Co ntroller), and to verify the change in characteristics of control.

  • Automation control and the data for control of industrial equipment for the diagnosis and prediction is a key to success in the 4th industrial revolution. It increases process efficiency and productivity through data collection, realtime monitoring, and the data analysis. However, university and research environment are still suffering from logging the data in manual way, and we occasionally loss the equipment data logging due to the lack of automatic data logging system. State variable presents the current condition of the equipment operation which is closely related to process result, and it is valuable to monitor and analyze the data for the equipment health monitoring. In this paper, we demonstrate the collection of equipment state variable data via programmable logic controller (PLC) and the visualization of the collected data over the Web access supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). Test vehicle for the implementation of the suggested SCADA system is a relay switched physical vapor deposition system in the university environment.
