  • Extruded Profiles of Aluminum alloys have been widely used as parts and frames in mechanical and construction structures. Nowadays, mechanical processing of extruded Al alloy profiles is often employed for various industrial applications. Especially, the bending process is more and more applied and the process is greatly influenced by the distributed mechanical properties in the extruded profiles. Due to large reduction of area or extrusion ratio in ordinary production of extruded profiles, anisotropy is naturally induced by large severe deformation during the extrusion process. Therefore, the anisotropy properties play a great role in the bending process, as a post processing of extruded profiles and errors will be involved when the extruded profiles are treated as isotropic material, ignoring the induced anisotropy in the thin-walled extruded product. In the present work, the anisotropic material change is simulated, as a simplified method, employing Barlats six-component yield criterion in the rigid-plastic finite element method. Finite element computations are carried out for extrusion of a thin-walled part.

  • Lunar limb profiles are needed for analyses of lunar occultations and solar eclipses. The lunar limb profile data by C.B. Watts (1963) have been used for such analyses, but it has been found that there are many kinds of errors in the data by Watts, which seriously affected the results obtained from the analyses of the observations. Recently very precise lunar topographic data were obtained by the Japanese lunar explorer Kaguya and NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. I obtained lunar limb profiles for any lunar librations from them. I will show how well the lunar limb profiles fit to observed ones from lunar grazing occultations. By combining the accurate lunar limb profiles with observations of lunar occultations we can detect errors in the Hipparcos stellar reference frame. By analyzing Baily's beads timing observations of past total and annular solar eclipses using the accurate lunar limb profiles we will be able to detect solar diameter variations.

  • The equilibrium beach profiles with the effects of random waves and nonuniform grain size in the surf zone are derived from the Thornton and Guza(1983)'s energy dissipation model. The derived beach profiles are the functions of the breaking wave strength, the frequency of the incident wave, and the wave induced-energy dissipation at breaking point. It is not confirmed that the equilibrium beach profiles are better agreement with the measured profiles than the classical profiles. However, the characteristic of the changes of the beach profiles with respect to the breaking wave stgrngth and the frequency of the incident wave can be analyzed which has not been studied by the classical model.

  • A new approach for similarity analysis of chemical profiles of Scrophularia buergeriana was developed. The roots of S. buergeriana collected in Andong, Korea were analyzed using HPLC-DAD and the peak areas of the chromatograms were used to construct the chemical profiles of S. buergeriana. The analytical conditions were validated for specificity, precision and repeatability. The standard chemical profiles were established from the chromatograms of nine standard analytical extracts from three batches. The correlation coefficients of peak areas of characteristic compounds between the chromatograms of the standard and test samples were calculated for quantitative expression of the chemical profiles. The results showed that the HPLC chemical profiles of the samples of same geographic origin were relatively consistent. This new approach could be applied to the quality assessment of herbal medicines with complex chemical compositions.

  • In this study, the experiments are carried out by boron ion implantation at energies ranging from 700keV to 2MeV in silicon. The distribution of boron profiles are measured by SIMS(Cameca 6f). Boron dopants profiles after high temp]erasure annealing are also explained by comparisons of experimental and simulated data. A new electronic stopping model for Monte Carlo simulation of high energy implantation is presented. Also the comparisons of profiles by profiles boron ion implantations are demonstrated and interpreted with theoretical models. Finally range moments of SIMS and SRP profiles are calculated and compared with simulation results.

  • Single crystalline silicon wafers having (100), (110), and (111) directions are employed as specimens for obtaining slowness profiles. Leaky Lamb waves (LLW) from immersed wafers were detected by varying the incident angles of the specimens and rotating the specimens. From an analysis of LLW signals for different propagation directions and phase velocities of each specimen, slowness profiles were obtained, which showed a unique symmetry with different symmetric axes. Slowness profiles were compared with elastic moduli of each wafer. They showed the same symmetries as crystal structures. In addition, slowness profiles showed expected patterns and values that can be inferred from elastic moduli. This implies that slowness profiles can be used to examine crystal structures of anisotropic solids.

  • Although food related lifestyle has been widely discussed over the last ten years, the majority of research on food related lifestyle has been only conducted in terms of a variable-centered approach. But, recently there is a growing body of research on food related lifestyle profiles over the last three years from the view of a person-centered approach. This study conducted both a cluster analysis and a latent profile analysis (LPA) to identify the patterns of potential food related lifestyle customer profiles based on the five components on the sample of customer, who bought organic products (n=509). The results of each statistical analysis showed both quantitatively and qualitatively different types of food related lifestyle customer profiles even though there were similar types of profiles identified in common between these two analyses. These various profiles were then compared with customer's level of buying behaviors (e.g., buying attitude and buying intentions). Results showed that food related lifestyle profiles with respect to the high level of interesting in dietary life in terms of health and safety are associated with the higher level of buying behaviors. Based on the results, implications for food related lifestyle literature, practices and future research are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate health promotion lifestyle profiles of the Korean elderly in Japan. The subjects of this study were 202 elders in Aichi prefecture. The method of this study questionnaires interviews, and a self-administered questionnaire from the 1st to the 20th of April in 2000. This study tool was based on Walker et al. (1987)'s Health Promotion lifestyle Profiles (HPLP). Analysis of the data used an SPSS/pc+ WIN 9.0 program. Data analyses were conducted by using frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA. Pearson correlation, Kendal tau and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The results were as follows: 1. The average score of Health Promotion Lifestyle Profiles of Korean elderly in Japan was 2.72(SD=0.40). On the sub-scale of Health Promotion Lifestyle Profiles: nutrition(M = 3. 06), self-actualization(M =2.99), interpersonal support (M=2.81), stress management (M=2.68) revealed higher scores, whereas the scores of health responsibility(M=2.52), and exercise(M=1.92) were lower. 2. Health Promotion Lifestyle Profiles were significantly different by age (F = 11. 02, p = .000), religion(F=2.96, p=.033), occupation(F=6.91, p=.000), living family status(F=13.07, p=.000), living family number(F=11.74, p=.000), monthly pocket money(F=18.79, p=.000), the source of pocket money (F=7.18, p=.000), and the length of residence(F=9.79, p=.000). 3. Health Promotion Lifestyle Profiles was significantly predicted by monthly pocket money($r^2$ change =0. 188, p=.000), sex($r^2$ change= 0.066, p= .000), the length of residence($r^2$ change = 0.059, p = .000), the source of pocket money($r^2$ change=0.036, p= .000), age ($r^2$ change=0.018, p=.000). These variables showed a positive correlation with health promotion lifestyle profiles of the Korean elderly in Japan. These variables explained 36.7% of the variance of Health Promotion Lifestyle Profiles. On the basis of the above findings, Health Promotion Lifestyle Profiles programs for Korean elderly in Japan needs be to developed with Japanese social-culture perspectives and needs to develop an intervention method to improve Health Promotion Lifestyle Profiles. It is also suggested that further research is required.

  • We calculate the theoretical line profiles for 32 Cyg in order to investigate the influence of various velocity fields. Line profiles are calculated with wind accelerations driven by Alfven waves and described by velocity parameters. The results for Alfvenic wave model show weakened line profiles. For the orbital phases ${\Phi}$=0.78 and ${\Phi}$=0.06 the Alfvenic models show strong absorption part due to very low densities at the surface of the supergiant. Hence, we conclude the velocity gradient of the wind near the supergiant could influence on the theoretical line formation.

  • Using a phenomenological model for the accretion onto the magnetic white dwarf, we calclliated some optical line profiles from the magnetosphere of such systems. Line profiles of these systems seem to be produced in the magnetosphere of the compact star due to the reemission of X-ray produced near the stellar surface. Some results of our new calculation and the analysis of these results will be presented. Our results show that the model used here can reproduce the observed optical line profiles and open the possiblity to determine the parameters of individual systems.
