  • Dissolution profile comparsions can be done by virtue of the similarity factor $(f_2)$. It is a logarithmic reciprocal square root transformation of the sum of squared error of % dissolution differences between two profiles at several time points. It gives information on the degree of similarity between the two profiles: An $f_2$ value between 50 and 100 suggests the similarity/equivalence of the two dissolution curves being compared. The objective of this report was to provide a careful examination on the $f_2$ metrics in detail. It was shown that $f_2$ values exceeded 50, when relative differences in % dissolved between two products were less than 15% at all time points. The similarity factor value was also found to be greater than 50, in cases when absolute % dissolution differences were below 10% at all time points. Interestingly, the $f_2$ value was changed by the number of the time points selected for calculation. In particular, $f_2$ tended to have higher values, when the $f_2$ metrics used a large number of time points in which % dissolved reached plateau. Finally, since the similarity factor was a sample statistics, it was impossible to infer type I/II errors and sampling error. Despite certain limitations inherited in the $f_2$ metrics, it was easy and convenient to evaluate how similar the two dissolution profiles were.

  • The monitoring system in railway is under study to forecast any derailment and accident by defect of train. Because the monitoring system is composed of wireless sensor network based on ZigBee-communication between inside and outside of train, the study for wireless channel analysis is required. Especially, if multipath delay profile exist in the channel, the equalizer and channel estimator can be required for preventing receiver performance degradation. Therefore, we analyzed the wireless channel in train environment using measured data and, proposed the channel estimation method through the characterisitic of chip code, under the consideration of the channel characteristics in train. To show the performance of proposed method, we demonstrate the performance by mean square error(MSE), computational complexity and bit error rate(BER).

  • Recently, web server hacking is trending toward web application hacking which uses comparatively vulnerable web applications based on open sources. And, it is possible to hack databases using web interfaces because web servers are usually connected databases. Web application attacks use vulnerabilities not in web server itself, but in web application structure, logical error and code error. It is difficult to defend web applications from various attacks by only using pattern matching detection method and code modification. In this paper, we propose a method to secure the web applications based on profiling which can detect and filter out abnormal web application requests.

  • In orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) uplink environments, asynchronously received signals can cause multiple access interference (MAI). This paper focuses on the performance degradation due to the MAI over frequency-selective fading channels. We first introduce the timing misalignment, which is defined as the relative timing difference between asynchronous timing error of uplink user and reference time of the base station, and analytically derive the MAI using the power delay profile of wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (WSSUS) channel model. Then, the effective signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the average symbol error probability (SEP) are derived. The proposed analytical results are verified through simulations with respect to the region of the timing misalignment and the number of asynchronous users.

  • Rotating machining unit is a revolutionary product that can process worm shaft or spiral shaft with fast and precise, a rotary type cutting tool, which is attached to automatic lathe and processes spiral groove on outer circumference of round bar. In this work, a study on micro tooth shape modification method of driving gear train in the rotating machining unit was presented. To observe the effect on power transmission characteristics of the driving gear pair, visualize the gear meshing condition and the load distribution on the gear teeth by using the professional gear train analysis program RomaxDesigner. By comparing the repeated analysis results, the effect of micro tooth shape modification on power transmission characteristics on driving gear can be summarized. The optimized gears were fabricated and measured by precision tester as a validation in this research.

  • A cross drilling/milling Unit is an important mechanical part which is widely used in many kinds of machining tool, and various gear trains with good accuracy and reliability features are widely used in power transmission systems. A study on a novel power transmission optimization method for driving gear trains in cross drilling/milling units is presented in this paper. A commercial program for gear system simulation, Romax Designer, was used in this research to intuitively observe the gear meshing and the load distribution conditions on the gear teeth. We obtained the optimal modification value through comparing the results of repeated experiments. For validation, optimized gears were fabricated and then measured with a precision tester.

  • As the range of use of urban unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) expands, it is necessary to operate UAVs efficiently because of its limited battery capacity. For this, it is required to find the optimal flight profile with various simulations. Therefore, it is important to predict the power and energy consumption of the UAV battery. In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between the speed and acceleration of the UAV and power consumption during the flight. Then, we derived a linear model, which is easily utilized. In addition, we also derived an accurate power consumption model based on deep neural network learning. To find the efficient model, we used learning data as 1) the GPS 3-axis velocity and acceleration data, 2) the IMU 3-axis velocity only, and 3) the IMU 3-axis velocity and acceleration data. The final model shows 5.86% error rate for power consumption and 1.50% error rate for the cumulative energy consumption.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of a "stealth chamber" as a novel reference chamber for measuring percentage depth dose (PDD) and profile of 6, 8 and 10 MV photon energies. The PDD curves and dose profiles with fields ranging from $3{\times}3$ to $25{\times}25cm^2$ were acquired from measurements by using the stealth chamber and CC 13 chamber as reference chamber. All measurements were performed with Varian VitalBeam linear accelerator. In order to assess the performance of stealth chamber, PDD curves and profiles measured with stealth chamber were compared with measurement data using CC13 chamber. For PPDs measured with both chambers, the dosimetric parameters such as $d_{max}$ (depth of maximum dose), $D_{50}$ (PDD at 50 mm depth), and $D_{100}$ (PDD at 100 mm depth) were analyzed. Moreover, root mean square error (RMSE) values for profiles at $d_{max}$ and 100 mm depth were evaluated. The measured PDDs and profiles between the stealth chamber and CC13 chamber as reference detector had almost comparable. For PDDs, the evaluated dosimetric parameters were observed small difference (<1%) for all energies and field sizes, except for $d_{max}$ less than 2 mm. In addition, the difference of RMSEs for profiles at $d_{max}$ and 100 mm depth was similar for both chambers. This study confirmed that the use of stealth chamber for measuring commission beam data is a feasible as reference chamber for fields ranging from $3{\times}3$ to $20{\times}20cm^2$. Furthermore, it has an advantage with respect to measurement of the small fields (less than $3{\times}3cm^2$ field) although not performed in this study.

  • The railway abrasion measurement system have to satisfy two conditions to increase the measurement accuracy as follows. The laser region which is projected on the rail have to be extracted without the geometrical distortion. The mapping of the acquired laser region data on the rail profile have to be processed exactly. But, the conventional railway abrasion measurement system is deeply effected by the foreign substance( dust, rainwater, and so on ) on the railway or the sensitive response characteristic of the laser to the external measurement circumstance, and then the measurement errors arise from above factors. When the laser region is projected on the rail extracts from the acquired image, the interference of the light with the same frequency as the laser system occurs the serious problems. In the process of the mapping between the railway profile and the extracted laser region, the measurement accuracy is very highly effected by the geometrical distortion and the abnormal variation. In this Paper, we propose the novel method to increase the accuracy of the railway abrasion measurement dramatically. we designed and manufactured the high precision and fast image processing board with DSP Core and FPGA to measure the railway abrasion. The image processing board has the capability that the image of 1024X1280 from camera can be processed with the speed of 480 frame/sec. And, we apply the image processing algorithm base on the wavelet to extract the laser region is projected on the rail exactly. Finally, we developed high precision railway abrasion measurement system with the error range less than +/-0.5mm by which 2D image data is covered 3D data and mapped on the rail profile using the camera model and the perspective transform.

  • Bathymetric data collected using a multi-beam echo sounder during marine scientific survey is essential for geologic and oceanographic research works. Accurate measurment of sound velocity profile(SVP) in water-column is important for bathymetric data processing. SVP can vary at different locations during the survey undertaken for wide areas. In addition, an observational error can occur when different equipments(Sound Velocity Profiler, Conductivity Temperature Depth, eXpendable BathyThermograph) are used for measuring SVP at the same water column. In this study, we used an MB-system software to show changes in bathymetry caused by variation of SVP. The analyses showed that the sound velocity(SV) changes due to the depth and thickness of thermocline had more significant effects on the resulting bathymetric data than those of surface mixed layer. The observational errors between SVP measuring instruments did not cause much differneces in the processed bathymetric data. Bathymetric survey line is better to be established to the direction that the change of temperature can be minimize to reduce the variation of SVP during the data acquisition along the survey line.
