졸업을 앞둔 간호학생의 핵심간호역량 측정도구 개발 (Development of Nursing Competence Scale for Graduating Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a nursing competence scale for soon to be graduate nursing students and to verify its validity and reliability. Methods: This study is a methodological study for development of a scale. Based on literature review and group discussion of 13 professional experts, 40 preliminary items were developed and the content validity was verified. Psychometric testing was performed and data were collected from 141 soon to be graduate nursing students of a university. Construct validity was verified by factor analysis and reliability was calculated. Results: The analyses resulted in a scale named the Nursing Competence Scale for Graduating Nursing Students (NCS-GNS), consisting of 30 items covering eight categories: nursing professionalism, integrated nursing through critical thinking, communication skills, nursing leadership, respect for life, stress management, nursing research, and core nursing skills. For the entire scale, the explained variance was 66.72% and Cronbach's alpha was 0.906. Conclusion: NCS-GNS was developed and its validity and reliability were verified. This scale can be used to evaluate nursing competence for graduating nursing students.

의학전문직업성의 개념과 발전 방향 (The Concept and Development Direction of Medical Professionalism)

  • This paper summarizes the concept of medical professionalism and presents its direction. Toward this end, the authors compare the characteristics of a professional with those of a craftsman and a technician. The authors describe the construct of medical professionalism on the assumption that knowledge and technical competence are necessary but not sufficient conditions for the professional. The construct of medical professionalism could be defined variously, depending on the time, place, or collectivity. The authors furthermore summarize cases for the development process of medical professionalism and then compare Korean medical professionalism with that of the West. Finally, the authors present the development direction of medical professionalism in Korea.

응급실 간호사의 중증도분류 전문역량에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Professional Competencies in Triage Nurses Working in Emergency Departments)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the professional competency of nurses working in emergency medical institutions that use the Korean Triage Acuity Scale (KTAS), and to identify factors that affect them. Methods: This study collected data from 105 nurses working in emergency medical institutions from June to August 2020. For data analysis, descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression were performed using the SPSS 25.0 program. Results: As for the professional competency in triage, the higher the self-efficacy (β= 0.58, p< .001), the more experience they have in triage-related education (β= 0.30, p< .001), 2-4 years of clinical experience in emergency department (β= 0.19, p= .002), in case of triage alone (β= 0.24, p< .001), the higher the level of education a nurse has (β= 0.19, p= .003), the higher the professional competency in triage. These variables explained professional competency in a total of 64.2% of the participants (F = 38.30, p< .001). Conclusion: To improve nurses' professional competence in triage, introducing manpower expansion, financial support, and the provision of appropriate places is suggested. In addition, it is necessary to repeatedly provide educational opportunities in an environment similar to actual clinical practice by developing various scenarios and introducing simulations and web-based formats.

보건간호사의 건강증진 역량(competence)에 대한 개념 분석 (Concept Analysis of Health Promotion Competence in Public Health Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to define and clarify the concept of health promotion 'competence' in public health nurses (PHNs). Methods: A hybrid model was used to develop the concept of competence. The model included a field study carried out in Seoul, Korea. The participants in this study were 20 PHNs who were working in the health promotion area. Results: The concept of health promotion competence was found to be a complex phenomenon having a meaning in two dimensions: personal-relationship and environmental-relationship. Four attributes and eight indicators were defined. Conclusion: Health promotion competence was defined as the ability to have understanding and flexibility in practicing (personal-relationship dimension) and to have capacity for uniqueness and leadership in planning (environmental-relationship dimension). Therefore, PHNs who work in the health promotion area should be equipped with attributes and indicators of health promotion competence to enhance their competence in health promotion.

간호대학생의 임상수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Clinical Competence among Nursing Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the association of factors related to clinical practice training for clinical competence among nursing students, and to analyze those factors influencing clinical competence, providing recommendations for improving their clinical competence and clinical learning environment. This descriptive correlative study completed organized questionnaires from 557 nursing students. The data was analyzed by SPSS 19.0. The most important factor affecting the clinical competence among nursing students was teaching effectiveness (${\beta}=.22$). followed by critical thinking (${\beta}=.19$). and the professional self-concept (${\beta}=.19$). The explained variable for clinical competence was 45.2% in nursing students. Thus, the development of an effective clinical internship program is important for strengthening nursing students' clinical competence. We suggest that the capability of nursing students should be strengthened and effective clinical internship programs should be developed to improve the clinical competence of nursing students.

신규간호사의 DISC 행동유형이 직무만족과 업무수행능력에 미치는 영향 (Impact of DISC Behavioral Styles on Job Satisfaction and Clinical Competencies among Newly Hired Nurses)

  • Purpose: In this study, behavioral styles of Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness (DISC) were examined and differences in job satisfaction and clinical competence among newly hired nurses were explored. Methods: For this explanatory correlational research, 176 newly hired clinical nurses were recruited from three university hospitals and one general hospital located in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Data were collected in August, 2013 though self-report questionnaires. Results: The distribution of behavioral styles was 11.4%, 42%, 29% and 17.6% for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness respectively. DISC behavioral styles were associated with sub-areas of job satisfaction such as professional position and doctor-nurse relationship. DISC behavioral styles were significantly associated with the total score for clinical competence and sub-areas of data collection, basic nursing skills, critical thinking, education and leadership, and attitudes toward professional development and practical skills. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that DISC behavioral styles predicted clinical competence (Adj. $R^2$=.14, F=9.42, p<.001). Conclusion: A focus on cultivating influential and steady behavioral styles among newly hired nurses can be helpful in improving job satisfaction and clinical competence. There is a need to improve interpersonal relationships through a deeper understanding of each person's behavioral style based on the analysis of DISC behavioral styles.

직장상황 임산부의 의복스타일과 직업유형이 호의도와 업무수행능력 평가에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Maternity Apparel Style and Job Type on the likability and the occupational Competence of Pregnant Working Women)

  • The Purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of maternity apparel style and job type on the likability and the occupational competence of pregnant working women. This study was 3'S factorial design. Independent variables of this study were maternity apparel style(feminine style, neutral style, and masculine style) and job type(assitant manager of bank and salesperson). Dependent variables were the likability and the occupational competence of the stimuli. One hundred eighty college females participated in the study, in which half of the subject viewed the stimuli as a salesperson and the other half as an assistant manager of bank. The results showed that maternity apparel style influenced the perception of likability(F(2,174)=6.97, p<.001) and occupational competence(F(2,174): 16.25, p<.001) significantly. Also lob type influenced the occupational competence(F(1,174) : 3.94, p<.05) signifcantly. There was a significant interaction(F(2,174) : 2.53 p(.10) between maternity apparel style and job type. In future researches, diverse job distinction other than the classification of being professional or non-being professional can be arranged to study the influence of job type. Also it is recommended to explore the interaction between the appearance cues except clothing and job type.

A Study of the Impact of Nonconformity Behavior on Others: Focusing on the Red Sneakers Effect

  • Purpose: This research examines how people react to nonconforming behavior such as entering a luxury boutique wearing gym clothes rather than an elegant outfit or wearing red sneakers in a professional setting. Nonconforming behaviors, as costly and visible signals, can act as a particular form of conspicuous consumption and lead to a positive inference of status and competence in the eyes of others. Research design, data, and methodology: A series of studies demonstrate that people confer higher status and competence rather than conforming individuals using 2-way ANOVA through employees in luxury stores and students at university. Results: According to the empirical studies, observers who witness the nonconformity behavior have positive inferences of status and competence rather than conformity behavior. These positive inferences derived from signals of nonconformity are moderated by individual differences in prior knowledge and regulatory focus. Conclusions: Through three empirical studies, observers who witnessed role-breaking in prestigious and professional situations found that the individuals who performed the nonconformity behavior had higher status and competence rather than conformity behavior. Even in Korea, a collectivist culture, observers who witnessed nonconformity behavior showed that they gave higher evaluations to the people who behaved informally.

간호학생의 업무기대감과 진로계획의 영향요인 (Factors related to job expectations and career planning of nursing students)

  • 본 연구는 졸업 직전 간호학생들의 전공만족도, 간호역량성취도, 업무기대감 간의 관련성을 중심으로 진로계획에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 연구자료는 D시와 K시 소재 두 개 대학의 졸업을 앞둔 간호학생 255명이 자가보고식 설문지에 기입하는 방식으로 2016년 1월4일부터 1월7일까지 수집되었다. 자료는 SPSS와 AMOS를 사용해 기술분석, Pearson's correlation coefficients, t-test, bootstrapping을 활용한 SPSS macro, 경로분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과로, 간호학생들의 전공만족도, 간호역량성취도, 업무기대감은 유의미한 상관관계가 있으며, 전공만족도와 간호역량성취도는 업무기대감에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 롤 모델의 유무에 따라 전공만족도와 간호역량성취도가 업무기대감에 미치는 영향이 달라지는 조절효과가 있었다. 전공만족도는 졸업 후 진로계획에 직접적인 영향은 유의미했으나, 전공만족도가 업무기대감을 거쳐 진로계획에 미치는 간접적인 효과는 유의미하지 않았다. 반면, 간호역량성취도가 졸업 후 진로계획에 미치는 직접적인 영향은 유의미하지 않았으나, 간호역량성취도가 업무기대감에 영향을 미침으로써 진로계획에 영향을 미치는 간접적인 효과는 유의미한 것으로 나타나, 업무기대감이 간호역량성취도와 향후 진로계획 간의 관계에 매개요인으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 간호학생의 졸업 후 진로계획을 위해 전공만족도와 간호역량성취도를 향상시킴으로써 업무기대감을 강화하고, 이를 위해 임상전문가와의 적극적인 상호작용으로 롤 모델을 형성하고, 향후 간호업무 수행을 위한 동기와 목표를 탐색할 수 있는 교육방안이 강화되어야 함을 시사한다.

  • 학습순행 (學習順行: Learning Progressions)은 학습자 이해의 발달 단계를 나타내기 위해 유용한 방법이다. 본 고에서는 초임 교사가 익혀야하는 교수 지식을 체계화하고 교사교육 프로그램 개발을 발달적 관점에서 접근하기 위한 방법으로 학습순행을 소개한다. 학습순행의 개발과 타당화 과정을 제안하고, 이와 관련하여 한 과학 교사 연수 프로그램에서의 개발된 과학탐구 수업에서 ICT 통합을 위한 학습순행과 그 개발과정을 논의한다. 초임교사 전문성 향상을 위한 학습순행의 이용은 교사의 이해 정도를 평가하기 위한 근거를 제공하며, 체계적이고 발달적인 관점에서 교사 연수 프로그램을 개발할 수 있도록 지원하는 등의 다양한 장점이 있다.
