Analysis of Appropriateness for Brassieres' Size at On-Line Shopping Mall (온라인 판매 브래지어 사이즈의 적합성 분석)

  • The spread of internet brought the rapid development of on-line shopping mall, but the information of clothing-related products especially underwears in on-line shopping mall is still poor. Thus, in this paper, we investigated the dimension status and problems of brassieres selling at on-line shopping malls and suggest improving solutions. We surveyed the sales sizes and sales status of brassieres for four top-sales on-line malls and analyzed them based on both of Korean Standards and SizeKorea2005, the measurement data of Korean women's sizes. The results showed that almost of brassieres were for adults(98.8%), and for general purpose(97.8%) while the sales rates of specially targeted products for teen-ager or functional products for nursing mom were very low. Also, we noticed that Korean Standards covers most of SizeKorea measurements of women, but brassieres of only a small portion of size in Korean Standards were manufactured and sold at on-line shopping mall. It means that consumers who do not belong to the sector of most frequent body measurement range suffer difficulties in purchase of brassieres by on-line shopping. Thus, it is required to gather more accurate information about body size of potential consumers and to offer wider range of sizes and target-specific products for the activation of on-line shopping.

  • This is an analysis of international mobile displays industry. There has been severe competition in market and technology. In technology, There has been competition between Japan, USA and Korea. On the other hand, there has been competition in the products market between Korea, Japan and Taiwan. Recently Korea has catched-up Japan in mid-size display industry. The response of Japanese firms are as follows: technological collaboration with Taiwanese firms in mid-size and concentration in small and large size displays. New competition, however, has started, since new technologies such as TFT-LCD and OELD have been used in products.

A Study on Consumers Home Fashion Buying Behavior and Preferences Based on Housing Size (거주평형에 따른 소비자 홈 패션 구매 행동 및 선호도 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to research buying behavior and home fashion preferences based on housing size. The target consumers were Korean women, aged 20~40s who reside in the Seoul & Kyunggido areas. We distributed questionnaires to 650 women. However, only 600 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. Data analyses were conducted with SPSS program on the frequency, Chi-square test, cluster analysis, t-test and ANOVA. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The considering factors for purchasing such as brand, trends coordinating existing furnishings with new products and functionality were significantly associated with housing size. The buyers who reside in bigger size homes. over 40 pyung place higher value on brand name, trends. or coordinating existing furnishing with new products than residents in smaller units. However, women who live in smaller units place higher value on functionality when purchasing home fashion products. Considering factors such as brand, trend, and materials were also significantly associated with segmented age group; 40~49 age group considered brand, trend, and materials more than 20~29 age group. The group who are highly interested in home fashion considered design/color, rand, coordination, and functionality than the group who are low interested in home fashion. 2. Residents in over 40 pyung homes buy home fashion products at department stores, while residents in less than 39 pyung homes buy them at discounted store. 3. Respondents preferred solid colors more than patterns. However, they favored character pattern for textile bedding products for their children. 4. there is also a statistical difference in preferences for types of window treatments between large ad small housing sizes. Residents living in over 40 pyung preferred tie-back/cottage curtain, while residents living in less than 29 pyung preferred Roman shade style.

  • Many producers put sampling inspection policy into the way of their convenience. Examples of the convenience are irregular lot size and too small sample size. Because they don't use a standard sampling inspection policy, they can not guarantee the quality level of their products. In this study, we developed a user-centered design program which can calculate the AOQL of their products to their buyers in the case of irregular lot size and too small sample size. Also this program propose a linear inspection cost by Hald's model.

  • It is important not to overcalculate sample sizes for clinical trials due to economic, ethical, and scientific reasons. Kang and Kim (2014) investigated the accuracy of a well-known sample size calculation formula based on the approximate power for continuous endpoints in equivalence trials, which has been widely used for Development of Biosimilar Products. They concluded that this formula is overly conservative and that sample size should be calculated based on an exact power. This paper extends these results to binary endpoints for three popular metrics: the risk difference, the log of the relative risk, and the log of the odds ratio. We conclude that the sample size formulae based on the approximate power for binary endpoints in equivalence trials are overly conservative. In many cases, sample sizes to achieve 80% power based on approximate powers have 90% exact power. We propose that sample size should be computed numerically based on the exact power.

A Quantitative Study of Grinding Characteristics on Particle Size and Grinding Consumption Energy by Stirred Ball Mill (입자경과 분쇄소비동력의 고찰에 의한 교반볼밀 분쇄특성의 정량적 연구)

  • A series of wet grinding experiments have been carried out using a stirred ball mill to systematically investigate consideration of grinding characteristics. The particle size distribution and median diameter of the grinding consumption power for a given grinding time were considered. Also, the effect of grinding aids on particle size and grinding consumption energy defined as the summation of grinding power was investigated. The grinding aids had influence on the smaller products size and decrease grinding consumption energy because the function of grinding aids were to be attribute to the prevention of agglomeration and ball and grinding chamber wall coating of sample powder. The grinding process seemed to be controlled by the force of agglomeration of the ground products. It was demonstrated that the particle size and grinding consumption energy could be more decreased by the addition of grinding aids.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the method to select optimal size for the industrial products which are closely related to human's body size. For this purpose, human factors such as body characteristics, body features, and preference in product selection which needs to be considered in setting standards were analyzed. This analysis is to select optimal size to minimize losses caused by the difference of size between demand by the customers and supply from the manufacturers. Using loss function, repetitive calculation process algorithm by using bisearch method was applied in selecting the sizes of demand and supply which minimize the total expected losses. For cumulative normal distribution probability, IMSL routine DNORDF was used. In case study, comparison has been made between the result which was calculated using presented algorithm and the results calculated by the process currently used by KS and ISO by measuring aged women's body size in human factors side and sorting them through the factor analysis and cluster analysis for feature factor extraction. Thus, they can be used as a basis for establishing industrial product standards.

  • In order to successfully implement hot die forging process for the large-size titanium alloy products, it is necessary to devise a customized heating method for the billets and the die tools, as well as the die tool design. This study aims at establishing a hot die forging process of the large-size titanium alloy container products by applying the warm die, semi-hot die and hot die forging process step-wise. To accomplish this purpose, forging mechanism and the die tools were designed considering the strength of die materials at the given die heating temperature. The movable heating devices for the billet and the die tools were also introduced to prevent overcooling of billet and die tools. To verify the applicability of the designed forging process, real-size forging tests were carried out and the quality of forged products, including dimension, surface condition, microstructure and the mechanical properties was evaluated.

  • The particle size of medicinal materials is an important physical property which affects the pharmaceutical behaviors such as dissolution, chemical stability, compressibility and bioavailability of solid dosage forms. The size reduction of raw pharmaceutical powder is needed to formulize insoluble drugs or slightly soluble drugs and to improve the pharmaceutical properties such as the solubility, the pharmaceutical mixing and the dispersion. The objective of the present study is to evaluate the grinding characteristics of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA) as a model of insoluble drugs. The effects of the grinding time and the amount of additive on particle size distribution of ground UDCA were investigated. Grinding of insoluble drug, UDCA and a series of dry co-grinding experiments of UDCA with sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS) as an additive were carried out using a planetary ball mill. It was measured that the median diameter and the particle size distribution of ground products with grinding UDCA and additive SLS by Mastersizer. As a result of co-grinding of UDCA and SLS, the particle size of co-grinding products was decreased more than single grinding one. However, it was observed that co-grinding products were reaggregated to larger particles after 120 min.

Integrating Analysis on Measurements of Head and Face for Korean Men and Women (한국인 성인 남녀의 머리 및 얼굴 부위 측정치 통합분석)

  • The head and face are the most complicated structures of the human body. However, unlike apparel products, many of the head and face related products are produced in unisex or one-size-fits-all. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a practical analysis that reflects these size structures. This study analyzed head and face measurements of men, women, and both men and women; its purpose lying in clarifying the differences and commonalities between the measurements of men and women and discovering the possibility of integrating analysis on measurements of men and women. 3D face and head measurement data of men and women from 20 to 29 years-old from Size Korea's 6th human body size data were analyzed for this study. The mutual 9 factors were extracted as the results of the three factor analyses (both men and women) separately and men and women integrated. However in the cluster analysis based on the 9 factors, men and women showed mutual characteristics and different landscape in group types and distribution. The commonalities and differences between men and women observed in this study should be applied to the sizes of head and face products.
