Fault Detection, Diagnosis, and Optimization of Wafer Manufacturing Processes utilizing Knowledge Creation

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a process management system to manage ingot fabrication and improve ingot quality. The ingot is the first manufactured material of wafers. Trace parameters were collected on-line but measurement parameters were measured by sampling inspection. The quality parameters were applied to evaluate the quality. Therefore, preprocessing was necessary to extract useful information from the quality data. First, statistical methods were used for data generation. Then, modeling was performed, using the generated data, to improve the performance of the models. The function of the models is to predict the quality corresponding to control parameters. Secondly, rule extraction was performed to find the relation between the production quality and control conditions. The extracted rules can give important information concerning how to handle the process correctly. The dynamic polynomial neural network (DPNN) and decision tree were applied for data modeling and rule extraction, respectively, from the ingot fabrication data.

  • In Korea's distribution and production field establishment of logistics information system and automation of logistics were greatly developed. But there is no characteristic and professionalism about hospital logistics, and distribution center is located in outside warehouse, logistics system is very important. Since hospital has human power to receive product, system is not as much required, but outside warehouse requires system for arrival from medicine and medical supplies wholesale dealer and vender, warehousing, storage, and automation facilities, and system for various works such as peaking instruction, classification, packing, cargo-working, delivery, order of medicine from hospital and non-medicine in hospital is essential. Therefore, This study is about development of automatic identification of slide which cannot be overlooked in efficiency of hospital logistics, establishment of database, and information interlocking between automatic storage system and outside warehouse.

An Automatic Weight Measurement of Rope Using Computer Vision

  • Recently, the computer vision such as part measurement, and product inspection is very popular to achieve the factory automation since the labor cost is dramatically increasing. In this paper, the diameter and the length of rope are measured by CCD camera which is orthogonally mounted on the ceiling. Two parameters which are the diameter and the length of rope are used to measure the weight of rope. If the weight of rope is reached to predetermined weight, the information is transmitted to PLC(programmable logic control) to cut the rope on the wheel. The cutting machine cuts the rope according to the information obtained from the CCD camera. To measure the diameter and length of rope on real time, the searching space for image segmentation is restricted the predetermined area according to the camera calibration position. Finally, to estimate the weight of rope, the knowledge base system which depends on the diameter, the length of rope, and weight relation between these information are constructed according to diameters of rope. This method contributes to achieve the factory automation, and reduce the production cost since the operators are unnecessary to measure the weight of rope by try-and-error method.

빌릿 마킹 공정의 자동화를 위한 마킹 위치 인식 방법 (Perception Method of the Marking Location for Automation of Billet Marking Processes)

  • The machine vision has been applied to a number of industrial applications for quality control and automations to improve the manufacturing processes. In this paper, the automation system using the machine vision is developed, which is applicable to the marking process in a steel production process line. The working environment is very harsh to workers so that the automatic system in the steel industry is required increasingly. The developed automatic marking system consists of several mechanical and electrical elements such as the laser position detecting sensor system fur a structured laser beam which is projected to the billet in order to detect the geometry of the billet. An image processing algorithm has been developed to percept the two center positions of a camera and a billet, respectively, and to align two centers. A series of experiments has been conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed algorithm. The results show that two centers of the camera and the billet could be detected very well and differences between two center positions could be also decreased via the proposed location error decreasing algorithm.

  • This paper presents the development of three types of network performance manager for IEEE 802.4 token bus networks that are a part of Manufacturing Automation Protocol(MAP). The performance managers attempt to keep the average data latency below a certain level specified for each priority class. All of the three performance managers are based on a set of fuzzy rules incorporating the knowledge on the relationship between data latency and parameters of the priority mechanism. These Fuzzy Network Performance Managers(FNPMs) have been evaluated via discrete event simulation to demonstrate their efficacy.

  • 본 연구에서는 레미콘 제품에 Mix Design Nomogram을 적용하여 배합변수에 따른 파괴에너지 예측뿐만 아니라 파괴에너지에 따른 배합변수 예측을 가능하도록 하는데 그 목적이 있다. Mix Design Nomogram 작성을 위한 실험은 레미콘 생산회사의 실제 시방배합표를 사용하였으며, RILEM 50-FMC 위원회에서 제안한 3점 휨 실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 레미콘 제품에 파괴에너지가 예측 가능한 Mix Design Nomogram의 적용 가능성을 확인하였으며, 이를 이용한 프로그램 개발로 레미콘 배합설계 자동화를 위한 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 LED 광시스템과 식물생장제어시스템을 연계하여 센서를 이용하여 식물환경을 제어 가능한 모니터링시스템에 대한 연구이다. 시스템의 성능을 검증하기 위해 에너지효율, data 전송률, 광량제어 특성에 대한 실험을 실시하였다. 실험한 결과 에너지 효율은 80%이상, 무선통신속도가 1Mb/sec이고 광량제어를 5단계이상 조절 가능함으로써 만족한 결과를 얻었다. 제안된 시스템은 LED 식물공장설비에 적용가능하며, 향후 상용화를 위해서는 생산효율 및 노동비 절감을 위한 자동시스템을 구성하여 농업 자동화설비에 기여할 것이다.

DEFORM을이용한 로터리 스웨이징 공정의 시뮬레이션에 대한 연구 (A Study on Rotary Swaging Process Simulation using DEFORM)

  • Rotary swaging is a method of forging automotive drive shafts. In this paper, we propose a new two-hammer forging technique by applying the problem-solving approach TRIZ to improve the efficiency and productivity of the rotary swaging automation process. We will simplify the materials and hammers via the 3D modeling tool SolidWorks for high accuracy of a comparative analysis of existing and proposed methods under the same boundary conditions. In addition, we will compare the stress trends of the proposed model using ANSYS Workbench and verify the feasibility through a comparison of the simulation results using DEFORM. Relative to the existing method, the proposed method can decrease production costs and improve efficiency of the automation process by reducing the power source.

  • In this country, mackerel landing, sorting, and packing are mostly performed manually, which is time consuming and labor intensive. An unloading automation system saves time and labor by automating the landing, sorting, and packing processes. Casers are devices for manufacturing packing boxes for fish used by unloading automation systems. The caser design in this study is for mackerel packing boxes. This caser makes a packing box based on a press using the caser's slide crank. When the caser makes a packing box, the manufacturing sequence is determined by the caser's production guide and assisting rod. The caser design in this study is simulated using a multi-body dynamics program. The simulation is used to analyze the caser and to visualize the box-making sequence.

금형 가공 시 최적 가공조건을 결정하기 위한 공구수명 예측 프로그램 개발 (Development of tool-life prediction program to determine the optimal machining conditions in mold machining)

  • Recently, with the emergence of the 4th industrial revolution, the demand for smart factories and factory automation is increasing. In this study, a tool life prediction program was developed to select optimal machining conditions using CNC milling equipment, which is widely used in flexible production and automation. The equipment used in the experiment was Hwacheon Machine Tool's 5-axis machining equipment, and the tool used was a 17F2R tool. For the machining path, the down-milling cutting method was selected and long-term machining was performed. The analysis standard for side wear on the tool was set at 0.1 to 0.2 mm, and tool life data and wear data were obtained in the cutting experiment. The program was created through the data obtained from the experiment, and a prediction rate of over 90% was secured when comparing the experimental data and the predicted data.
