The Making-books Program(Byun, unpublished) uses the Arts PROPEL approach based on multiple-intelligences theory(Gardner, 1983). PROPEL is a loose acronym for production, perception and reflection, 3 stages in the learning process. The Making-books Program includes designing rubrics, making-books, and publishing. Effect of the program on creativity was examined by before- and after-testing by TTCT. Participants were 63 7-year-old children with 30 children in the experimental and 33 children in the control group. On the pre-test, there was no between groups difference in the participants' creativity on the TTCT. After 21 treatments, the effectiveness of the Making-books Program was shown by significant between group differences on the post-test.

The objective of this paper is to evaluate the feasibility of exporting Korean organic agricultural products to Japanese market. To achieve the objective, we explored the marketing trend of organic agricultural products in Japan and surveyed marketing dealers and food processors that deal with organic foods. We also analyzed Korean farmers' intention of acquiring organic Japanese Agricultural Standard(JAS) certificate in order to export organic agricultural products. The results show that mini tomato is economically feasible to acquire organic JAS certificate but other agricultural products need more attentions. The results also suggest that the education of production and safety management using the international standards such as Japanese Agricultural Standard should be strengthened by local government to promote export of organic agricultural products. The paper implies that producers acquiring organic Japanese Agricultural Standard should be systematization to get larger scale and to guarantee the stability in export supply.

The purpose of this study was to examine the English l sound in an English short story produced by 16 Korean students in order to determine various allophones of the sound using acoustic visual displays and perceptual judgments. The subjects read the story in a quiet office at normal speed. Each word included the lateral sound in onset or coda positions and before a vowel of the following word. Results showed as follows: Firstly, there was a durational difference between the two major groups. Also the majority of the subjects produced the clear l regardless of the contexts. Some students produced the sound as the Korean flap or the English glide [r]. A few missing cases were also seen. The dark l was mostly produced by the subjects of English majors in coda position with a few cases before a vowel in a phrase. Visual displays using the computer analysis were very helpful in distinguishing lateral variants but sometimes perceptual process would be necessary to judge them in fast and weak production of the target word. Further studies would be desirable to test the discrepancies between the acoustical and perceptual decisions.

This study was mainly done by factors analyzing to find out the structure and the dimension of the results of a previous study; analyzing the school and hospital dietitians'human attributes needed for successful job performance(Song 1998). The results were as follows: 1) Through factor analysis, the 12 knowledge items were categorized into 4 groups ; ‘basic knowledge of food and nutrition’, ‘knowledge of clinical nutrition and diet therapy’, ‘knowledge of medial science’, and ‘knowledge from experience and common sense’. These 4 knowledge factors were more frequently used and importantly recognized by hospital dietians compared with school dietitians. 2) The 38 skill and ability items were categorized into 7 groups ; ‘ability of program development and research’, ‘ability of counseling and nutrition education’, ‘ability of production control and facility management’, ‘ability to use computer’, ‘ability to cooperate with others’, ‘ability to manage consignment marketing’, and ‘ability of managing situations and informations’. Different skills and abilities were required for each group. 3) The 11 personality items were categorized as 3 groups ; ‘respoinsibility and sincerity’, ‘positive personality’, and ‘affirmative and inquisitive personality’.

Hans Wegner, one of the legendary designers who led the 20th century Nordic modern design, is a representative furniture designer of Danish Modern. His beautiful proportions, elaborate structure, lightweight and simple chairs show the essence of Danish modernism for mass production. Designed and built over 500 chairs, he demonstrated the essence of chair design through a fully structured prototype. He shows his passion and craftsmanship as a designer through over 1000 designs. In addition, chair design shows the value of timeless design and is loved by modern times. Therefore, this study aims to study the characteristics of chair design by Hans Wegner and to help furniture design education by analyzing design, structure, function and material.

Laser welding is suitable for welding to the aluminum alloy sheet. In order to apply the aluminum laser welding to production line, parameters should be optimized. In this study, the optimal welding condition was searched through the genetic algorithm in laser welding of AA5182 sheet with AA5356 filler wire. Second-order polynomial regression model to estimate the tensile strength model was developed using the laser power, welding speed and wire feed rate. Fitness function for showing the performance index was defined using the tensile strength, wire feed rate and welding speed which represent the weldability, product cost and productivity, respectively. The genetic algorithm searched the optimal welding condition that the wire feed rate was 2.7 m/min, the laser power was 4 kW and the welding speed was 7.95 m/min. At this welding condition, fitness function value was 137.1 and the estimated tensile strength was 282.2 $N/mm^2$.

After a not-widely-known fact is revealed that Japan is a leading country in production and use of industrial unmanned helicopters, a kind of UAV. The voice command system and the autonomous flight control system with a variety of control algorithms including neural network, robust and adaptive control that have been developed in collaboration between Kyoto University and Yamaha Motor Co., and funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Japan are described in some detail. Both already-proven and promising future applications of the autonomous unmanned helicopters are given.

This study examines the significance of digital fabrication of scaled physical models in the digital design process and highlights the integration of design computing and digital fabrication in architectural education. Advances in CAD/CAM technologies have increasingly influenced building design and construction practices by allowing the production of complex forms that were once difficult to design and construct using traditional technologies. At the advent of digital architecture, schools of architecture introduced digital technologies to their curriculum, focusing more on design computing than digital fabrication, preventing students from completely mastering digital technologies. The significance of digital fabrication for scaled physical models as a design media within the digital design loop is discussed. Two case studies of leading schools of architecture that are successful in building the bridge between both areas are given. These focus on the curricular structure to integrate both areas within design studios. Finally, a curricular structure offering students a balanced approach to these areas of knowledge is proposed based on what was learned from these case studies.

The benefits of operation at Ka-band are greater bandwidth available to accommodate the increased demand for high-speed Information exchange. By the early years of the 21s1 century, millions of households worldwide with dual Ku / Ka-band dishes Satellite multimedia systems receive hundreds of TV channels, originating from around the world, and delivering entertainment, information and education. Many Ku-band satellites have been ordered, but few Ka-band systems are moving into production. So Ka-band systems are characterized that low-cost access to low and high peed, two-way voice, data, and video communications.

국내 전력소비량은 1961년 전원 개발을 본격적으로 추진한 이래 세계12위 규모로 성장하였다. 그러나 전력사용 증가에 따른 전기화재, 감전 및 설비사고 등 전기재해 역시 계속 증가하여 전체 화재사고 중 전기로 인한 화재비율이 선진국과 비교하여 크게 높은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 전기안전에 관한 국민의식 제고를 목표로 전기안전 교육을 위한 애니메이션(3D 및 2D 프로그램)을 제작하여 전기 안전문화를 조성하는 홍보매체로 활용할 수 있도록 연구를 수행하였다.
