Currently, the government selects products that are likely to cause harm to consumers as safety management targets and classifies them into three types: safety certification, safety confirmation, and supplier conformity verification. In addition, the government conducts safety surveys on products in circulation or accident products, and recalls products that are of great concern to consumer risks. In this paper, we have developed RAP (Risk Assessment method based on Probability), which is a probability based product risk assessment method, for the classification of safety management type of product and safety investigation, and have shown an application example. In this process, information is used for the CISS (Consumer Injury Surveillance System) of the Korean Consumer Agency. In addition, we apply the cluster analysis to classify the current supervised children products into three groups. Then, we confirm the effectiveness of RAP by comparing the result of RAP application, cluster analysis result and current safety management classification type. Also, we recognize the need to review the current safety management classification criteria for classifying products into three types.

Product liability is the law of the manufacturer's responsibilities for the consumers' personal injuries or the losses of property resulted from defective products. In today's many countries, the product liability law are being enacted because of the safety of product use and the protection of consumer's right. In korea, the product liability is going to enforce on July 1, 2002. Though the construction of product liability response system is urgent situation, domestic manufacture company's PL response system is not nearly prepared in present. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to discuss the Quality Management's importance and the PL countermeasures by presenting the difference of PL response system construction degree by the Quality Management Maturity degree

This study compared data regarding industrial accidents and awareness level for beauty product safety for four main parts of beauty industry such as hair-care, nail-care, skin-care, and make-up. Major risk factors in beauty industry are dust, musculoskeletal disorders, and organic solvent of beauty product in order of percentage. The specific types of industrial accidents in beauty industry are mainly associated with musculoskeletal system such as cuts, sprain, and varicose vein. They are mainly compensated by personal budget. The awareness levels of chemical and heavy metal containment for beauty product by beauty industry employee were 77.2% and 59.1% respectively. Most employee confirmed only important items of labelling requirement of beauty product. Also, most employee did not understand MSDS(Materila Safety Data) for chemicals used in beauty industry. Only 38.1% of beauty industry employee has had safety education while most employee (73.6%) realized that they needed safety education. Also, safety education supervised by KOSHA(Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency) was the most preferred. This study would be good basis for safe and healthy working environment of beauty industry employee.

Product Liability(PL) is a legal policy to deal with global competition by improving domestic industrial competitive power and to reduce the cost of defect products. The purpose of this paper is to address the state of the art solutions to dispute on PL, in reality of a frequent occurrence of global product exchange focussing on product safety that is one of the most important functions of PL and to improve solution of the product safety and reliability responsive to PL. To minimize PL exposure, manufacturers should reflect comprehensive product safety and reliability concepts in establishing PL prevention policies. PL prevention policies are composed of administration system, product safety management system, and total quality management system in respect of prevention, safety, and defence.

Recently, there is a rise of accident by some defective products, especially it reported that a serious fact is a defect of design causing some problem since execute a product liability(PL), people who use products have been able to bo remunerated for a damage to those defects, so responsibilities of companies are rising more and more. Therefore, companies that are obligated to manufacture a safety product, and should make preparation for PL. For solving the problem, even though manufacturers tried to make a safety product ay mixed ways, it is seldom that its safety is considered from planning a design. This thesis has suggested a way aimed at improving a safety of products through considering a stage of a plan, by searching and analyzing the design-process in to each steps.

It is important to manage quality and safety of a product for coping with fast-paced world effectively. This paper demonstrates an integrated model between ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Product Safety Management System. And the paper presents a method which decides key performance indicators (KPI) to be concentrated on the effectiveness of system operation. A case study shows an process for industry to implement the developed methodology.

오늘날 치열한 글로벌 마켓의 경쟁환경에서 많은 회사들이 제품의 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위해 고객에 대한 빠른 대응과 유연하고 효율적인 새로운 제품을 적기에 개발하기 위한 방법으로 product family 기반의 제품개발과 고객 맞춤형 제품개발 방법을 도입하고 있다. 많은 제품들의 가장 중요한 비즈니스 프로세스 요소는 제품의 전체 라이프 씨이들동안 제품 데이터를 관리하는 것이다. 서로 다른 저장 구조를 가지는 이기종 소프트웨어 시스템에 의해 수집되는 제품 정보는 서로 다른 조직의 정보시스템내에서 인덱싱, 탐색, 정제, 재사용, 분배되는 것이 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 현재의 제품 설계 저장소의 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 시맨틱 웹 패러다임을 사용하여 product family를 대상으로 지식 관리 프레임워크를 개발하고자 한다. 시맨틱 웹 패러다임의 formal product represention은 제품 플랫폼의 구조를 저장할 수 있고, product family의 서로 다른 부품들을 공용으로 사용할 수 있도록 도와 줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, product family 기반의 제품개발과 고객맞춤형 제품개발이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 일회용 카메라를 대상으로 제안한 프레임워크의 타당성의 입증을 위한 프로토타입을 제시한다.

Subsequently in Korea product liability has been introduced. The position of consumers for defective products have been disadvantageous. Defective products should be broght under the law. Then, while consumers would be largely protected, a producer would take the heavy responsibility by law, Therefore, a producer would not be able to take countermeasures for product liability. Object of this paper to investigate and analyze the actual state of management for product liability in advanced countries, and to join it with our quality management system.
