Bundling has become a general promotion strategy in mobile shopping context. Previous research on bundling has mostly focused on bundle frame or price frame. Even though consumers are searching and purchasing the product in mobile channels, little research has investigated the effects of bundling in mobile shopping. The objectives of this study is to examine how different product image of bundle affects consumer's perception and purchase intention differently, and how brand familiarity moderate this influence. A sample of 140 subjects participated in a within-subjects experiment. A bundling composed of two different product image (a single product vs. bundled products) was evaluated by individuals. Brand familiarity (familiar brand vs. unfamiliar brand) were manipulated to test a set of hypotheses. We found that the effectiveness of bundling does not depend on the type of product image and brand familiarity. The findings of our study provide some implications for researchers and marketers. Although there have been studies on the effects of bundle framing on consumer behavior, we suggest new insights regarding bundling based on product image and mobile shopping context.

Less than 3% of India's food basket, consists of processed food, therefore processed food can be viewed as an innovation or new product to Indian consumers. This research investigates the effects of product familiarity and reference groups on Indian consumers' attitudes and purchase behavior of new processed food products. For the study, the model is developed by modifying Cambel and Goodstein's (2001) "Moderate Incongruity Effect" to include important cross-cultural influences on attitudes and purchase decisions among Indian consumers. Empirical analysis was conducted through structural equation modeling (SEM). SEM results indicated that reference group influence has a stronger positive effect on consumers' attitudes and actual purchase behavior of more familiar processed foods than of less familiar processed food. In addition, attitudes have a stronger positive effect on consumers' actual purchase of more familiar than of less familiar processed foods.
The objective of this study was to explore the role of familiarity in cross-cultural product perception and perception changes according to food systems (hot sauce and spicy-chicken) in Korean and US consumers. Free choice profiling was conducted by Korean and US consumers on four spicy-chicken samples made using four hot sauce samples. Half of the hot sauce samples were selected to be more familiar to US consumers and vice versa to Korean consumers. A previous study that investigated cross-cultural perceptions of the same four hot sauce samples in US and Korean consumers was incorporated in this study. For distinct sample differences, US and Korean consumers perceived products similarly. However, for less obvious differences, flavor familiarity seemed to affect consumers' product perceptions. In addition, product perceptions changed more dramatically according to food systems for familiar samples in each country. The findings of this study show that consumers' product perception can be affected by flavor familiarities.
Modularity has merits in modifiability of product structure management and product arrangement. This feature helps consumer to expand the selection of products and to get customized products. Also consumers are drive satisfaction and reduce a post-purchase dissonance from role in a 'prosumer'. But expanding product's alternative would cause the overload confusion by rising complexity of information handling. Purpose of the study is to verify how interaction about option size and personal disposition are effected consumer's overload confusion. For this purpose we deducted 3 personal dispositions 'Regulatory focus', 'Product familiarity', 'Self-efficacy' that presented lead to potential effect of personal information handling by previous research. By statistical inquiry prevent focus group had perceived more overload confusion than promotion focus group in an expanding option size circumstances. And low Product familiarity and Self-efficacy group had perceived more overload confusion than high Product familiarity and Self-efficacy group in a expanding option size circumstances.
In this study, we conducted an experiment with the 219 undergraduates to find out the controlling effects of the verbal anchoring (low, high, non) in the nostalgia ads and the consumers' responses according to the product types (emotional/rational). The results suggest the higher the standards of the effects of the verbal anchoring are, the more favorably the preferences to the ads and the purchasing intention are formed regardless of the existence of the nostalgia. The following reveals that the controlling effects of the verbal anchoring in the nostalgia ads have differences between the purchasing intention and the preferences to the ads as to both the nostalgia familiarity and the product types. In the preferences to the ads in case that the standards of the effects of the verbal anchoring are low, the differences between familiarity group and non familiarity one are not noticeable but in the purchasing intention the differences between the low case and non of the standards of the effects of the verbal anchoring are a little more noticeable.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between the social interactions on the social network and the purchase intention. And the trust propensity of a trustor, the ability of a trustee, and the sincerity of a trustee are selected as the antecedents of social interactions. This paper also examines the effect of type of product as a moderating variable. The result of this paper reveals that social interactions(in terms of closeness, familiarity, and interpersonal trust) have a positive(+) effect on the purchase intention. The more social interactions, the more trustors have intentions to purchase the recommended products by trustees. In addition, the study reveals that the trust propensity of a trustor and the ability of a trustee directly and indirectly influenced on the intention to purchase the recommended product. This study investigates the combined effect of clothing interest and fashion innovativeness on dimensions of scent quality (pleasantness, intensity, familiarity, and congruency) to understand which dimensions of scent quality have significant positive effects on the appeal of scented apparel products. The survey data were statistically analyzed. A structural equation modeling using LISREL was conducted to test the model. Results indicate that clothing interest has a significant impact on scent quality attitude. Positive evaluations of the product were most strongly influenced by the pleasantness quality of the scent. Intensity and familiarity were factors that affected the approach of consumer responses toward scented products. Congruency was not a significant scent quality in generating positive responses for apparel products among consumers.
Product familiarity is vital to assess the purchase intention of consumers. In this study, a conceptual model was proposed to investigate the relationship among organic products familiarity, perceived value (measured by quality, emotional, price and social dimensions), and the purchase intention of students. The model was empirically tested using questionnaire survey data collected from 235 university students. The results reveal that organic products familiarity is positively associated with quality, emotional value, price value and social value. On the other hand, emotional value, price value and social value is also positively associated with purchase intention whereas quality shows insignificant relationship with purchase intention. Overall, the result shows students have positive outlook about their intention to purchase organic products.
