M/PH/1 QUEUE WITH DETERMINISTIC IMPATIENCE TIME

  • We consider an M/PH/1 queue with deterministic impatience time. An exact analytical expression for the stationary distribution of the workload is derived. By modifying the workload process and using Markovian structure of the phase-type distribution for service times, we are able to construct a new Markov process. The stationary distribution of the new Markov process allows us to find the stationary distribution of the workload. By using the stationary distribution of the workload, we obtain performance measures such as the loss probability, the waiting time distribution and the queue size distribution.

Bootstrap methods for long-memory processes: a review

  • This manuscript summarized advances in bootstrap methods for long-range dependent time series data. The stationary linear long-memory process is briefly described, which is a target process for bootstrap methodologies on time-domain and frequency-domain in this review. We illustrate time-domain bootstrap under long-range dependence, moving or non-overlapping block bootstraps, and the autoregressive-sieve bootstrap. In particular, block bootstrap methodologies need an adjustment factor for the distribution estimation of the sample mean in contrast to applications to weak dependent time processes. However, the autoregressive-sieve bootstrap does not need any other modification for application to long-memory. The frequency domain bootstrap for Whittle estimation is provided using parametric spectral density estimates because there is no current nonparametric spectral density estimation method using a kernel function for the linear long-range dependent time process.

  • This paper describes a design of hardware system for real time automatic diagnosis of ECG arrhythmia based on pipeline processor consisting of the three microcomputer. ECG data is acquisited by 12 bit A/D converter with hardware QRS triggered detector. Four diagnostic parameters - heart rate, morphology, axis, and ST segment - are used for the classification and the diagnosis of arrhythmia. The functions of the main CPU were distributed and processed with three microcomputers. There-fore the effective data process and the real time process using microcomputer can be obtained. The interconnection structure consisting of two common memory units is designed to decrease the delay time caused by data transfer between processors and by which the delay time can be taken 1 % of one clock period.

  • In order to streamline bread making process that is time-consuming in regard to the characteristics of process, this study focused on microwave irradiation to dough and raising its temperature to monitor potential variations of dough properties and bread quality, and also examined optimum irradiation time to deduce effective ways for streamlining bread making process. According to analyze dough properties depending on microwave irradiation time, it was found that microwave heat (MWH) 2 showed the highest specific volume and oven spring of all and the lowest hardness (i.e. the highest softness). Moreover, MWH 2 scored the highest points in overall preference under sensory characteristics. As a result, it found that 80-second heating of 700 g bread dough, when exposed to microwave irradiation, contributed to the highest quality of bread.

  • All sorts of technique for schedule progress management is being developed recently, These can change and develop the abstractive concept model to a detailed model that describes the visual 3D image about a schedule plan. but, this technique is troublesome, because this requires the handwork by means of connection between 3D-CAD and scheduling Program. In this study, the process of real-time schedule progress control system using the integrated database by 3D-CAD object information system and schedule module is presented. This study present the process of a schedule progress management using UML, and the process of real-time schedule progress management using RFID system. Through this study, we want to realize the rapid generation of estimated schedule information and to simulate and analyze actual schedule information by real-time.

  • The main objective of this study is to find out the shortest path of the vehicle routing problem with time window constraints by using both genetic algorithm and heuristic. Hard time constraints were considered to the vehicle routing problem in this suggested algorithm. Four different heuristic rules, modification process for initial and infeasible solution, 2-opt process, and lag exchange process, were applied to the genetic algorithm in order to both minimize the total distance and improve the loading rate at the same time. This genetic algorithm is compared with the results of existing problems suggested by Solomon. We found better solutions concerning vehicle loading rate and number of vehicles in R-type Solomon's examples R103 and R106.

  • A compressed hydrogen tank is to be repressurized to 40 bar by being connected to a high-pressure line containing hydrogen at 50 bar and 25℃. Hydrogen filling time and the corresponding hydrogen temperature has been estimated when the filling process stopped according to several thermodynamic models. During the process of cooling the hydrogen tank, hydrogen temperature and pressure vs. time estimation was performed using Aspen Dynamics. Filling time, hydrogen temperature after filling hydrogen gas, cooling time and the final tank pressure after tank filling process have been completed according to the thermodynamic models are almost same.

  • Control charts are used to distinguish between chance and assignable causes in the variability of quality characteristics. When a control chart signals that an assignable cause is present, process engineers must initiate a search for the assignable cause of the process disturbance. Identifying the time of a process change could lead to simplifying the search for the assignable cause and less process down time, as well as help to reduce the probability of incorrectly identifying the assignable cause. The change point estimation by likelihood theory and the built-in change point estimation in a control chart have been discussed until now. In this article, we discuss two kinds of process change point estimation when the CUSUM ($\bar{x}$, s) control chart for monitoring process mean and variance simultaneously is operated. Throughout some numerical experiments about the performance of the change point estimation, the change point estimation techniques in the CUSUM ($\bar{x}$, s) control chart are considered.

  • The new rheology fabrication process has been developed to rheo die casting and rheo forming process. Thixoforming process has disadvantages in terms of induction reheating process, scrap recycling, loss of raw material and cycle time. Therefore, to reduce the number of process, new rheology fabrication process with specially designed the rotational barrel type equipment has been proposed to apply in various part productions. The barrel type equipment, which could continuously fabricate the rheology materil, was specially designed to have a function to control cooling rate, shear rate and temperature. During the continuous rotation of barrel with a constant temperature, the shear rate is controlled with the rotation speed. The barrel surface has both the induction heating system and the cooling system to control the temperature of molten metal. By using this system, the effect of the rotation speed and the rotation time on the microstructure was widely examined. The possibility for the rheoforming process was investigated with microstructural characteristic.

  • The sheet metal forming process is one of the most important manufacturing processes in the modern industry. From the view point of mechanics involved, it is very difficult to predict whether a newly designed sheet metal part can be formed without defects such as fracture, wrinkling and surface unevenness, etc. In order to reduce the effort taken in the trial-and-error process and to control the process effectively, a systematic method for process modeling is to required. The aim of sheet forming simulation through the process modeling is to reduce the lead time for die disign and manufacture by process modeling is to reduce the lead time for die design and manufacture by means of investigating the deformation mechanics and the mutual interaction between the process parameters. In this paper, the necessity, the present status, and the future technology about CAE of sheet forming simulation have been discussed.
