  • Recently the needs for education on Statistics is growing bigger, but a mathematics-oriented education makes college students loose interest in Statistics. On the hypothesis that motivating interest is the key factor for learning, we need to develop an education tool for Statistics that makes learners to study independently but throughly. By using Excel Macro, we develop and introduce add-in program, called PETS, which supplies not only results but also process to get them.

  • The lattice-spring-based synthetic rock mass model (LS-SRM) technique has been extensively employed in large open-pit mining and underground projects in the last decade. Since the LS-SRM requires a complex and time-consuming calibration process, a robust approach was developed using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to optimize the calibration procedure. For this purpose, numerical models were designed using the Box-Behnken Design technique, and numerical simulations were performed under uniaxial and triaxial stress states. The model input parameters represented the models' micro-mechanical (lattice) properties and the macro-scale properties, including uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), elastic modulus, cohesion, and friction angle constitute the output parameters of the model. The results from RSM models indicate that the lattice UCS and lattice friction angle are the most influential parameters on the macro-scale UCS of the specimen. Moreover, lattice UCS and elastic modulus mainly control macro-scale cohesion. Lattice friction angle (flat joint fiction angle) and lattice elastic modulus affect the macro-scale friction angle. Model validation was performed using physical laboratory experiment results, ranging from weak to hard rock. The results indicated that the RSM model could be employed to calibrate LS-SRM numerical models without a trial-and-error process.

  • New insights about macro-step formation has been investigated. The phenomena of surface instability caused by the interaction between step flow and fluid flow was describe in mechanical way. The rotation of the seed crystal in a clockwise direction was applied with a speed varied from 30 to 200 rpm during the TSSG process on the Si- and C-faces 4H-SiC. The macro-steps were formed along the two specific directions at different locations on the crystal for each, i.e., [10-10] or [01-10] directions or both. From the results, it is suggested that the macro-steps were generated from the micro-steps by interaction between step flow and fluid flow during the rotation of seed crystal. Furthermore, The fluid flow could be effective to control the micro- and/or macro-step behavior during solution growth.

  • This study evaluated the effects of maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene powder (mPP) contents on the bond properties of cement mortar and nonpolar macro synthetic fibers (macro synthetic fiber). Dog-bone bond tests were performed to evaluate the bond performance of macro synthetic fiber in cement mortar with varying amounts of mPP (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% of cement weight). The bond properties (pullout behavior, pullout load and interface toughness) of macro synthetic fiber in cement mortar increased as the mPP contents was increased. The bond properties increased with the mPP contents. The microstructure of macro synthetic fiber surface was examined after the pullout test to analyze the frictional resistant force according to mPP contents during the pullout process of macro synthetic fiber in cement mortar. The scratched of macro synthetic fiber increased with the mPP contents.

  • This study was to examine whether an elderly can health-related quality of life(EQ-5D) by the mediating effect of dental health determinants on the association between health practice behavior and EQ-5D. The analysis was conducted on 1,311 of above the age of 65 in elderly by using raw data from the 2015 National Health and Nutrition Survey. The data were analyzed using SPSS for windows version 24.0 and SPSS PROCESS-macro. The health practice behavior and EQ-5D by living arrangement were the highest in the one-generation family(4.62, 0.90) and the lowest the elderly living alone(4.40, 0.86). Also, analysis using the PROCESS macro indicated that the FS-T index has a mediating effect between health practice behavior and EQ-5D(${\beta}=.0011$, BCCI [.003~.0024]). These findings suggest that FS-T index is closely related to EQ-5D and this will be used as basic data for development of health promotion programs for elderly.

  • This study was to examine whether an middle-aged adults can depression by the mediating effect of periodontal status on the association between health practice behavior and depression. The analysis was conducted on 2,064 of the aged 45 to 64 in middle-aged by using raw data from the 2015 National Health and Nutrition Survey. The data were analyzed using SPSS for windows version 24.0 and SPSS PROCESS-macro. As a result, middle-aged depression was higher in female(0.15) than in male(0.10). The living alone were the lowest in the health practice behavior(3.92) and the highest in the depression(0.25) and the periodontal status(1.76). Also, analysis using the PROCESS macro indicated that the periodontal status has a mediating effect between health practice behavior and depression. These findings suggest that periodontal status is closely related to depression and this will be used as basic data for development of mental health promotion programs for middle-aged adults.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among social support, self-esteem, and feelings of happiness of adolescent athletes. The subjects of this study were 191 adolescent athletes and 196 general high school students, 387 all together. The questionnaires were used and the data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and SPSS Process Macro. The results were as follows. First, it was found that adolescent athletes were highly aware of social support than those of general high school students, and both self-esteem and happiness were highly recognized. Second, social support had a positive and significant direct effect on self-esteem. Third, self-esteem had a positive and significant direct effect on happiness. Fourth, social support did not have a direct effect on happiness, but it had an indirect effect on happiness through self-esteem. Based on this, it is considered that it's recommended to prepare specific plans to improve students' happiness in the future.

  • This study was a descriptive research study to examine the factors influencing cyberbullying tendency among college students. The data used in this study were collected from July 31 to August 13, 2020, from 396 students attending universities across South Korea. The collected data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficients, PROCESS macro model 4, Bootstrap, Sobel test using IBM SPSS Statistics version 20.0 and PROCESS macro for SPSS. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a significantly negative correlation between academic stress and self-control (r=-.246, p<.001). There was also a positive correlation between academic stress and cyberbullying tendency, but it was not significant (r=.096, p=.055). Second, the mediation effect of self-control is significant between academic stress and cyberbullying tendency (R2=.039, p<.001). Therefore, Academic stress and self-control should be considered in the development of cyberbullying prevention programs, and further research is also needed to verify the effectiveness of the cyberbullying prevention program based on this study.

  • Recently, there has been growing interests in the magneto-resistive random access memory (MRAM) because of its great potential as a future nonvolatile memory. In this paper, a CMOS macro-model for MRAM cell based on a twin cell structure is proposed. The READ and WRITE operations of the MTJ cell can be emulated by adopting data latch and switch blocks. The behavior of the circuit is confirmed by HSPICE simulations in a 0.35-${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS process. We expect the macro model can be utilized to develope the core architecture and the peripheral circuitry. It can also be used for the characterization and the direction of the real MTJ cells.
