This paper reviews various models of technological innovations at different levels: project level and productive segment level. Firstly, it examines a number of significant factors influencing the success and failure of technological innovation at project level. Specifically, the role and characteristics of technical information for the success of innovation is analyzed. Secondly, the paper discusses in detail the relationship between technological innovation and the evolution of a firm. Product and process innovations are analyzed in accordance with a three stage model; the stages are performance maximizing (uncoordinated), sales maximizing (segmental) and cost minimizing (systemic). Various implications of the model are presented in terms of the business policy variables such as diversification, standardization, productivity improvement, marketing, etc. The applicability of the model to a developing country is sought and a few suggestions to develop new model of technological innovations in LDC are discussed.

Traditional analyses of patent system have considered innovations in isolation and precluded the technological interrelationships between innovations. Common feature of cumulativeness during the process of technological change, however, brings the scope of patent protection into the major policy concern and currently occupies the central position in recent patent reform controversy. This study surveys the recent developments in the economic analysis of patent scope with corresponding introduction to the legal perspectives regarding patent scope. Although the issue of patent scope is complex in nature and depends crucially upon technological environment and the nature of innovations, this study can enlarge the understanding of the pros and cons of patent scope policy, which will become increasingly disputable in the forth-coming era of specialized patent court in Korea.

Now, there are prodigiously expanding worldwide economic networks in the information society, which require their social structural changes through technology innovations. This paper so tries to formally define a process-centered knowledge model to be used to analyze policy-making procedures on technology innovations. The eventual goal of the proposed knowledge model is to apply itself to analyze a topic network based upon composite keywords from a document written in a natural language format during the technology innovation procedures. Knowledge model is created to topic network that compositing driven keyword through text mining from natural language in document. And we show that the way of analyzing knowledge model and automatically generating feature keyword and relation properties into topic networks.

This paper examines the impact of internationalization on the product, process and organizational innovations of Korean service firms. Despite the increasing importance of the service sector and the discrepancies in the natures of the manufacturing and service industries, the internationalization-innovation link in the context of service firms has rarely been examined empirically on a large sample. Based on the results of the logistic regressions using the 2006 Korean Innovation Survey data, we found that Korean service firms' international expansion is significantly and positively associated with their product and organizational innovations. In addition, the magnitude of the estimates in our models revealed that internationalization has a greater impact on product innovation than on process or organizational innovation.

Purpose - This study aims to analyze the main problems of spatial modernization of the economy, and to develop new approaches to way out from crisis, to accelerate of innovations process from the cities-centers to the underdeveloped regions. Research design, data, methodology - The application of scientific methods in this research will allow to systematize the available data, from both a theoretical and empirical perspective. The study employs the method of ranking regions, the rate of innovation activity and comparative evaluation of R&D indicator. In addition, the authors proposed the method of modeling of innovation diffusion in the regions. Results - This study confirms that the need help for the underdeveloped regions, but we should clearly understand the limits of opportunities and to choose the right mechanisms. Further, this study shows it's important to maintain the regions with high innovation activity, as they are growth poles, which are play the role of translator's innovations to the periphery. Conclusions - According to the results of this theoretical and empirical study proved that modernization of the economy is realized faster in the regions with the best conditions for the diffusion of innovations, the higher the concentration of the population, a more developed infrastructure and reduced of administrative barriers.

The article examines the economic essence and approaches to determining the efficiency of the enterprise. The author in the study considers the effectiveness and from the standpoint of qualitative analysis of the effectiveness of change and implementation of enterprise development goals. It is established that the tool for ensuring qualitative impacts on the efficiency of the enterprise is the innovative development of the economic space of the enterprise. The article considers the dominant innovations that have influenced the means and methods of production. An organizational and economic mechanism has been recommended to coordinate the costs of innovation activities in order to ensure the efficiency of enterprises. The object of management in the organizational and economic mechanism is the innovation process in the enterprise: from the design of strategic goals of innovation, search and commercialization of innovations, to building and implementing innovation potential. The efficiency of the enterprise under the condition of realization of innovative potential will be characterized by steady competitive advantages and strategically-oriented behavior in the market.

The paper examines the role of the informal sector on innovation activities of urban formal manufacturing enterprises in India. It provides empirical evidence on firm-level linkages between formal and informal sectors by using the World Bank Enterprise Survey, 2013-14 and the Innovation Follow-up survey, 2014. Primarily, the paper aims to examine the effect of informal sector competition on innovation in urban formal manufacturing enterprises in India. Secondly, the paper analyses the mediation effect of informal sector competition on innovations in the urban manufacturing enterprises. It determines the direct and indirect influence of business regulations and constraints on innovation outcomes through the mediation effect of informal sector competition by using the SEM "Structural Equation Modeling" guidelines. The econometric results show that informal sector competition has a negative effect on the introduction of product innovations while industry-level informal sector competition has a positive effect on product innovation through the local knowledge spillovers from the informal to the formal sector. However, the informal sector competition was found to have no significant effect on the probability of introducing process innovations. Further, the results show the inhibitive role of informal sector competition on innovation in urban formal manufacturing enterprises is more severe for firms with heavy regulatory burdens and is relatively weakened in firms with resource constraints. This suggests that the informal sector plays an important role in the NIS (National Innovation System) in India.

This paper provides an overview of the experiences of the people's housing process (PHP) in South Africa. The discussion is done against the backdrop of the different outcomes of the government public housing provision initiative, commonly known as the Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) that directly produced more than three million subsidized housing to formerly segregated and disadvantaged populations. Notwithstanding the huge success in providing the much needed accommodation to such previously marginalized communities, the over-reliance on direct provision has the PHP ostensibly less impactful in housing delivery. Against the backdrop of the soaring housing backlogs, concerns with housing quality and the financial difficulties as well as the shrinking fiscal space; the article recommends improved support of the PHP. This can be achieved by the adoption of innovations that make land and minimal infrastructure and services available to the urban poor and to support their initiatives of self-building.

We consider fractional Brownian motion and FARIMA process with Gaussian innovations and show that the suitably scaled distributions of the FARIMA processes converge to fractional Brownian motion in the sense of finite dimensional distributions. We figure out ACF function and estimate the self-similarity parameter H of FARIMA(0, d, 0) by using R/S method. Finally, we display power spectrum density of FARIMA process.
