  • A Bayesian burn-in procedure is developed for imited failure populations in which defective items fail soon after they are put in operation and non-defective ones never fail during he technical life of the items. Sequential schemes guaranteeing pre-specified outgoing quality of a product are derived based on prior information on the quality of a product and accumulated failure information up to the decision point. A numerical example is also provided.

  • The quality of track-bed fills of railways has been controlled by field measurements of density $({\gamma}_d)$ and the results of plate-load tests. The control measures are compatible with the design procedures whose design parameter is $k_{30}$ for both ordinary-speed railways and high-speed railways. However, one of fatal flaws of the design procedures that there are no simple laboratory measurement procedures for the design parameters ($k_{30}$ or, $E_{v2}$ and $E_{v2}/E_{v1}$) in design stage. A new quality control procedure, in parallel with the advent of the new design procedure, is being proposed. This procedure is based upon P-wave velocity involving consistently the evaluation of design parameters in design stage and the field measurements during construction. The Key concept of the procedure is that the target value for field compaction control is the P-wave velocity determined at OMC using modified compaction test, and direct-arrival method is used for the field measurements during construction. The procedure was verified at a test site and the p-wave velocity turned out to be an excellent control measure. The specifications for the control also include field compaction water content of OMC${\pm}$2% as well as the p-wave velocity.

  • A quality inspection procedure interchangeably using the performance and surrogate variables is proposed. At the start of the inspection, the continuous performance variable is measured for all items. As soon as iconsecutive items are found to be conforming, the continuous surrogate variable is measured instead of the performance variable. If an item is rejected, the inspection based on the performance variable is resumed. It is assumed that the performance variable and the surrogate variable are jointly normally distributed with known means and standard deviations. The average outgoing quality (AOQ) expression is derived, and the methods of finding the inspection procedure with a specified average outgoing quality limit (AOQL) are presented.

  • In this study, a model and an analysis method for parameter design is presented a linear relation between the input signal and the ideal value of a performance characteristic. Furthermore, There presented a new performance measure, expected quality loss after adjustment, which is proved to be equivalent to Taguchi's SN ratio approximately. On the basis of this, a two-step optimization procedure is proposed for parameter design considering the signal factor and the quality characteristics with continuous variable. Proposed procedure and Taguchi two-stage procedure are compared.

  • This study aims to analyze the effect of quality of health care on perceived value, patient satisfaction and revisit intention. Especially, it was focused on outdoor environment, indoor environment, admission procedure, hospital image, service quality of physicians nurses medical technicians medical staff that patients perceived. Inpatients and outpatients were selected from three hospital in D city Questionnaire survey was employed to collect data from the subjects. For inpatients, indoor environment, admission procedure, hospital image and service quality of physicians have an effect on perceived value. Admission procedure, hospital image and service quality of physicians nurses medical technicians has an effect on the patient satisfaction. Hospital image and service quality of physicians nurses medical technicians have an effect on revisit intention. Perceived value have an effect on the patient satisfaction. • This paper deals with a robust subset selection procedure based on Hodges-Lehmann estimators of location parameters. An improved formula for the estimated standard error of Hodges-Lehmann estimators is considered. Also, the degrees of freedom of the studentized Hodges-Lehmann estimators are investigated and it is suggested to use 0.8n instead of n-1. The proposed procedure is compared with the other subset selection procedures and it is shown to have good effciency for heavy-tailed distributions.

  • Presented in the paper is a procedure to reconstruct a triangular mesh from a point cloud. Although, the proposed procedure is based on the well-known Voronoi diagram approach, it introduces a selection method of 'Pole' to improve the quality of resulting mesh. To select the appropriate Poles for high quality of Triangular mesh, the patterns that the Poles affect to the mesh quality are carefully analyzed. It is possible to improve the mesh quality by controlling the selection method of 'Pole' in terms of distance limit. The initial mesh obtained by the proposed procedure may include invalid triangles. To relieve this problem, a slicing method is proposed to remove invalid triangles from the initial mesh. At last, correcting technique of normal vectors of generated mesh is introduced.

  • When the fire door is recently installed in the field, there are frequent cases where the fire door is manufactured with fire door having low quality or different structure compared to the performance that the fire door producer has confirmed in the performance test or the construction specification. In order to improve the on-site quality management of the fire door, we comprehensively classify the quality management items of the fire door according to the management subject and the step by stage and set the field quality management procedure, the field quality management inspection item, regulations and standardized checklists were presented.
