A manufacturing environment without a computerized system causes numerous problems, since many important decisions are made based on the experience of veteran staffs. Especially, when a strategy for the improvement of manufacturing efficiency is considered, it is hard to predict the effect of the strategy. A solution to the problem without large investment of the computerized system is the simulation study. This paper shows the modeling and simulation based on DEVS(Discrete Event System Specification). Two types of models are implemented, one for representing the current production strategy and the other for the new strategy. The new strategy is expressed as priority rules within the model. The process in concern is the metal grating production process in which the size of the group, for applying a specific cutting and scheduling strategies, is one of the important factors in improving the production efficiency. Some reliable criteria for the evaluation related to the production effeciency are established from the simulation study.
Currently, accreditation within medical education is a priority on the agenda for many countries worldwide. The World Federation for Medical Education's (WFME) launch of its first trilogy of standards in 2003 was a seminal event in promoting accreditation within basic medical education (BME) globally. Parallel to that, WFME also actively spearheaded a project to recognize the accrediting agencies within individual countries. The introduction of competency-based medical education (CBME) with the two key concepts of "entrusted professional activity" and milestones has enabled researchers to identify the relationship between patient outcomes and medical education. Recent data driven by CBME has been used for the continuous quality improvement of trainees and training programmes as well. The goal of accreditation has shifted from the single purpose of quality assurance to balancing quality assurance and quality improvement. Even though there are a plethora of types of postgraduate medical education (PGME), it may be possible to accredit resident programmes on a global scale by adopting the concept of CBME. In addition, the alignment of the accreditation for BME and PGME, which center on competency, will be achievable. This argument may extend the possibility of measuring the outcomes of the accreditation itself against patient outcomes as well. Therefore, evidence of the advantages of costly and labor-consuming accreditation processes will be available in the near future and quality improvement will be the driving force of the accreditation process.

Line capacity calculation has been used to determine optimum efficiency and safe train service for train scheduling plan and investment priority order throughout detecting bottleneck section. Because of some problems of Yamagisi and UIC methods for line capacity calculation, developing of the method of line capacity caculation and evaluation for the Korea circumstance is important. This paper deals with the reliability improvement on the integrated system of TPS(Train Performance Simulator), PES(Parameter Evaluation Simulator), LCS(Line Capacity Simulator) and simulation and sensitivity analysis for line capacity.
ATC facility manipulates ground-on-board information, which transmits speed limit, varying as wayside environments - safety facility, track gradient, inclination, bridge and tunnel and other factors, installed for safe operation of trains on wayside. Efficientiation and automatification of operation and maintenance is being realized, by measuring if there are any erroneous information, using a measuring car. In this paper, we study in priority the methods for measuring accurately distinctive properties of internal malfunctions of track circuits, the performance decrease of condensers, and the unbalance of return cables, which are actually required for functionality improvement of high-speed line signal measure facilities, by measuring the unbalance of return current given because of damaged factors of external track circuits.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop a survey instrument to assess the Patient Safety Culture in Korean hospitals and evaluate its validity and reliability. Methods: A preliminary instrument was developed through a literature review, focus group interviews, content validity testing, and pretesting for face validity. A total of 467 hospital employees participated in the psychometric testing. Validity and reliability assessments included content validity, construct validity, criterion-related validity, and internal consistency. Results: The Korean Patient Safety Culture Survey Instrument comprised 35 items across seven factors: leadership, patient safety policy and procedure, patient safety improvement system, teamwork, non-punitive environment, patient safety knowledge and attitudes, and patient safety priority. These seven factors contributed 60.98% of the variance of the total scale. Cronbach's alpha for internal consistency was .93; the seven factors ranged from .66 to .91. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the Korean Patient Safety Culture Survey Instrument is reliable, valid, and suitable for measuring patient safety culture in Korean hospitals.

This study was carried out to apply the method of priority order selection for water quality improvement of watershed. The monitoring of flow and water quality, grouping branch streams and discharge load density were estimated on 18 branch streams located in middle and lower area of Geum River, Chungcheongnam-do. Based on average BOD concentration of stream at low flow, the results of the water quality analysis of stream which excess river living standard class 2 (less than BOD 3 mg/L) are Jeongancheon, Bangchukcheon, Gilsancheon, Jocheon, Seokseongcheon and Ganggyeongcheon. As a result of grouping stream, stream that have more than $10\;m^3/min$ of flow and more than 3.0 mg/L of average BOD concentration such as Group A are Jocheon, Seokseongcheon, Ganggyeongcheon and Jeongancheon. In Group A, stream corresponds to over than discharge load density as of 10 BOD kg/$day{\cdot}km^2$ is Jocheon, Seokseongcheon and Ganggyeongcheon. In view of the selected results to improve water quality basin through monitoring of flow and water quality, grouping stream, and estimation of discharge load density, Jocheon in Yeongi, Seokseongcheon located on the border of Buyeo and Nonsan, Ganggyeongcheon on Nonsan such as stream basin were urgent to improve water quality.
Currently, the environmental improvement project in residential building in Korea is focused on financing. To solve the variety of problems in urban residential areas, the plan need to apply more elements to improve sustainability. Thus, this study aims to find the main strategies to amend sustainability of the environmental improvement project in residential building. To do this, firstly I reviewed previous studies of sustainablity. Secondly I surveyed the planning elements of the three cases in Boksu-Dong District2, Daeseong-Dong District2, and Samsung-Dong District1 in Daejeon. Lastly I used the AHP analysis method and the 5-point Likert-type questionnaire of judged the importance among the plan elements with experts on urban regeneration of which is found through the previous literature review. In conclusion, this study shows the problems of the Residential Environment Improvement Project. Also, I found out the priority of the main planning elements to improve the problems. By contrasting the relative importance among the plan elements with the case study, the result of this study implies the directions of strategies which include the plan elements for responding climate change, residents' participation, and financial support program and system to improve the status of the environmental improvement project in residential building.
