현대식 Rock TBM에서 가압형 링빔의 효과 연구: I. 수치해석적 연구 (Effect of utilizing pressurized ring beam system in modern rock TBM: I. Numerical study)

  • 현대식 Rock TBM공법은 TBM에 의한 굴착과 지반 타입에 따른 능동적인 지보가 어우러진 공법으로 세그먼트를 사용하지 않고 숏크리트, 링빔, 록볼트, 와이어매쉬 등의 지보재에 의해 터널을 지보한다. 현대식 Rock TBM에서 사용되는 링빔은 H-형강을 사용하여 NATM의 강지보재와 유사하나 원형으로 완전히 폐합되어 설치됨에 따라 강지보재보다 더 효과적이다. 따라서 현대식 Rock TBM에서 링빔은 터널의 안정성 향상에 기여하는 바가 크며, 본 연구에서 소개하는 가압형 링빔(pressurized ring beam)은 그 효과를 더욱 향상 시킬 수 있다. 가압형 링빔의 효과를 검증하기 위해 3차원 수치해석을 수행하였으며 그 결과 최소주응력 증가, 과대변위를 발생시키는 소성변형률의 감소, 링빔 설치 후 발생하는 변위인 상대변위감소 그리고 링빔 간격 증가 효과를 확인하였다.

Seismic effects of epicenter distance of earthquake on 3D damage performance of CG dams

  • Seismic damages that occurred by the effects of epicenter distance of the earthquake are one of the most important problems for the earthquake engineering. In this study, it is aimed to examine the nonlinear seismic behaviors of concrete gravity (CG) dams considering various epicenter distances. For this purpose, Boyabat CG dam that is one of the biggest concrete gravity dams in Turkey is selected as a numerical application. FLAC3D software based on finite difference method is used for modelling and analyzing of the dam. Drucker-Prager nonlinear material model is used for the concrete body and Mohr-Coulomb nonlinear material model is taken into account for the foundation. Special interface elements are used between dam body and foundation to represent interaction condition. Free-field and quiet non-reflecting boundary conditions are utilized for the main surfaces of 3D model. Total 5 various epicenter distances of 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake are considered in 3D earthquake analyses and these distances are 5 km, 11 km, 24 km, 85 km and 93 km, respectively. According to 3D seismic results, x-y-z displacements, principal stresses and shear strain failures of the dam are evaluated in detail. It is clearly seen from this study that the nonlinear seismic behaviors of the CG dams change depending to epicenter distance of the earthquake. Thus, it is clearly recommended in this study that when a CG dam is modelled or analyzed, distance of the earthquake fault to the dam should be strongly examined in detail. Otherwise, earthquake damages can be occurred in the concrete dam body by the effects of seismic loads.

  • 본 연구에서는 3차원 형상의 금형에 의한 박판금속 성형 공정을 에너지법으로 해석함에 있어 스윕곡면(SWeep surface)을 통해 기하학적 형상을 효과적으로 표현하는 방법을 제안하고, 이를 직사각형 격막의 정수압벌징의 해석에 으용하여 이에 의한 결 과를 이미 보고된 자료와 비교함으로써 일반적인 박판 성형공정을 해석하는데 본 이론 의 적용 가능성에 대하여 논의하고자 한다.

Mouse Single Oral Dose Toxicity Studies of PGB-1, a Novel Polyglucosamine Polymer Produce from Enterobacter sp. BL-2

  • This study was conducted to obtain acute information of the oral dose toxicity of PGB-1, a novel polyglucosamine polymer produced from a new strain Enterobacter sp. BL-2 in male and female mice. In order to calculated 50% lethal dose ($LD_{50}$) and approximate lethal dose (LD), test material was once orally administered to male and female ICR mice at dose levels of 2000, 1000, 500, 250, 125 and 0 (vehicle control) ml/kg (body wt.). The mortality and changes on body weight, clinical signs, gross observation and organ weight and histopathology of principle organs were monitored 14 days after dosing with PGB-1. We could not find any mortalities, clinical signs, body weight changes and gross findings. In addition, significant changes in the organ weight and histopathology of principal organs were not observed except for some sporadic findings. The results obtained in this study suggest that PGB-1 may not be toxic in mice and may be therefore safe for clinical use. The $LD_{50}$ and approximate LD in mice after single oral dose of PGB-1 were considered over 2000 mg/kg in both female and male mice.

Bifidobacteria의 Caco-2 Cell 정착성에 미치는 영향 인자 (Factors Affecting the Adherence of Bifidobacteria to Caco-2 Cell)

  • Adherence of probiotic bacteria to intestinal epithelium is found to be the most principal characteristics among the various physiological functionality. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of bifidobacterial growth properties and condition on the Caco-2 cell adherence and to construct a basic data on adherence-related research. Among 20 strains of bifidobacteris tested, when measured by cell surface hydrophobicity(CSH) and cell agglutination(CA), Bifidobacterium bifidum ATCC29521, Bif. adolescentis K8, and Bif. infantis K9 were selected. Using these strains, variations of Caso-2 cell adherence depending upon experimental condition were analyzed. The results obtained are as follows : Even though Bif. bifidum ATCC29521, Bif. adolescentis K8, and Bif. infantis K9 reached more 85% cell surface hydrophobicity there was no significant difference in cell agglutination, when reached 31.54$\pm$0.54mg/ml. By direct count method for adherence, viable cell count of M3, K1, K2, K8, K9 and K10 reached more 100 counts per 100 Caco-2 cells. When Bif. bifidum ATCC29521, Bif. adolescentistis K8, and Bif. infantis K9 were used to compare the adherence depending upon viable cell counts, reaction time, and growth phase, the more viable cell count, and the more adhered cell counts, the less adherence percentage. In addition, there was no difference in adherence percentage of bifidobacteria when bifidobacteria was incubated from 1 to 8 hrs after Caco-2 cells already formed monolayer. Considering of the effect of growth phase of bifidobacteria on adherence variation, all strains showed the highest adherence during the early stage of stationary phase. In conclusion, adherence of bifidobacteria was affected by strain specificity, viable cell count, and growth activity.

정규압밀점성토의 이방성에 관한 연구 (Study on Anisotropy of Normally Consolidated Clay Soils)

  • 자연상태의 점성토는 Ko상태로 존재하며 하중재하시 주웅력방향에 따라 다르게 거동하는 이방적 특성을 갖는다. 그러나 실험실에서 점성토의 강도특성을 파악하기 위하여 실시하고 있는 실험은 실용성과 간편성 때문에 등방압밀 삼축시험이 보편적으로 사용되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 정규압밀점성토의 이방적 특성과 압밀방법에 따른 전단특성을 고찰하기 위하여 토괴의 형태로 채취한 불교란 점성토를 등방압밀 또는 Ko압밀시켜 정규압밀상태에 도달하게 한 후 비배수삼축압축과 신장시험을 실시하였다. 시험결과 주응력방향에 따른 강도의 이방성을 작인하였다. 등방압 밀은 압밀시 시료에 가해지는 Ko상태보다 높은 평균주응력과 흙의 이방적 구조의 파괴때문에 비 배수강도를 과대평가하며 이방성이 감소하고 응력-변형률과 발생 과잉간극수압이 영향을 받음을 알 수 있었으며, 과압밀점성토의 경우 과압밀비를 감소시킨다. 또한 내부마찰각은 신장시험이 압축시험보다 큰 값을 나타내지만 파괴시의 응력상태를 이용하여 회귀분석한 결과에 따르면 신장시 점착력과 함께 나타나는 내부마찰각은 압축시험과 거의 같은 값을 가짐을 알 수 있었다.

제동 디스크용 주철의 물성 및 열피로 특성평가 (Evaluation of Thermal Fatigue Lifetimes of Cast Iron Brake Disc Materials)

  • 철도차량의 제동 디스크에 사용될 수 있는 주물재료 4 종에 대해 인장강도, 압축강도, 경도, 비열, 비중, 열전도도 등 여러 특성값을 측정하였다. Ni, Cr, Mo 의 조성비에 따라 인장강도, 압축강도, 경도 등을 조절할 수 있었다. 이들 재료에 대해 열피로 시험을 수행할 수 있는 장치를 사용하여 원통형 시편에 대해 열크랙의 발생과 길이를 측정하여 재료의 내열성을 평가하였다. 그리고 열피로 시험과정을 유한요소법으로 해석하고 Manson-Coffin 식과 주변형률을 이용하여 열피로수명을 평가하여 시험결과와 비교, 검토하였다. 해석에 의한 예측수명은 관찰영역의 균열의 총 길이가 $40{\mu}m{\sim}1mm$ 사이에 있을 때의 수명에 해당함을 알 수 있다.

  • 상계치 이론을 이용하여 개구부를 갖는 단순 연속 깊은 보의 최대내력을 평가하기 위한 모델들이 제시되었다. 콘크리트는 인장강도를 무시한 수정 Coulomb 파괴기준을 따르는 완전 소성체로 가정하였으며, 철근은 기존 상계치 이론과는 달리 완전 탄 소성 재료로 고려하여 콘크리트의 한계 주 압축변형률을 사용하여 응력을 산정하였다. 파괴기구들은 실험 결과에 근거하여 포물선형의 항복선에 의해 분리되는 강체들로 이상화 하였다. 콘크리트의 유효압축 강도는 Vecchio & Collins의 모델에 의해 계산되었다. 본 연구에서 제시된 모델은 단순 연속 깊은 보의 실험 결과와 잘 일치하였으며, 특히 개구부 보강철근의 하중부담에 대한 과대평가를 감소시켰다.

Evaluation of Mungbean Genotypes Based on Yield Stability and Reaction to Mungbean Yellow Mosaic Virus Disease

  • This work was conducted to identify mungbean genotypes showing yield stability and resistance to mungbean yellow mosaic virus (MYMV) disease. Sixteen genotypes were evaluated in a randomized complete block design with two replications for two years (2011 and 2012) at three locations (Gazipur, Ishurdi and Madaripur) of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute. An analysis of variance exhibited significant effects of genotype (G), environment (E), and genotype ${\times}$ environment ($G{\times}E$) on grain yield. Among eight agronomic characters, the principal component 1 (PC1) was always higher than the PC2. Considering $G{\times}E$ interaction, BM6 was the best genotype at all three locations in both years. Based on grain yield and stability performance, BM6 ranked first while the worst performing genotypes were BM1 and G10. Based on discrimination and representation, Gazipur was identified as an ideal environment for these mungbeans. Relationship between soil-plant analysis developments (SPAD) value was positive with yield but negative with MYMV severity. BM6, G1 and G2 were considered as promising sources of resistance for low disease score and stable response across the environments. The environment proved to have an influence on MYMV infection under natural infestation. A positive correlation was observed between disease score and the temperature under natural growing condition.

Seismic resistance and mechanical behaviour of exterior beam-column joints with crossed inclined bars

  • Attempts at improving beam-column joint performance has resulted in non-conventional ways of reinforcement such as the use of the crossed inclined bars in the joint area. Despite the wide accumulation of test data, the influence of the crossed inclined bars on the shear strength of the cyclically loaded exterior beam-column joints has not yet been quantified and incorporated into code recommendations. In this study, the investigation of joints has been pursued on two different fronts. In the first approach, the parameters that influence the behaviour of the cyclically loaded beam-column joints are investigated. Several parametric studies are carried out to explore the shear resisting mechanisms of cyclically loaded beam-column joints using an experimental database consisting of a large number of joint tests. In the second approach, the mechanical behaviour of joints is investigated and the equations for the principal tensile strain and the average shear stress are derived from joint mechanics. It is apparent that the predictions of these two approaches agree well with each other. A design equation that predicts the shear strength of the cyclically loaded exterior beam-column joints is proposed. The design equation proposed has three major differences from the previously suggested design equations. First, the influence of the bond conditions on the joint shear strength is considered. Second, the equation takes the influence of the shear transfer mechanisms of the crossed inclined bars into account and, third, the equation is applicable on joints with high concrete cylinder strength. The proposed equation is compared with the predictions of the other design equations. It is apparent that the proposed design equation predicts the joint shear strength accurately and is an improvement on the existing code recommendations.
