소형화 및 슬림형에 적합한 평면 플라이백 변압기의 최적 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Design of Planar Flyback Transformers suitable for Small-size and Low-profile)

  • 본 논문에서는 10W급 Tablet용 AC to DC Adapter의 소형화 및 슬림형에 적합한 평면 Flyback 변압기 최적화 설계에 대해서 나타낸다. 또한 본 논문에서는 수동권선의 기존 양산 Flyback 변압기에 비해 자동권선, Trans 크기 저감 및 누설 인덕턴스(Lk) 저감이 가능한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기를 제안한다. 특히 본 논문에서 제안한 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기는 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기 2차측의 동판 사출 권선 접속 문제를 해결하기 위하여 변압기를 수평으로 눕힌 형태로 구성하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기의 1차측과 2차측 권선은 각각 기존 권선과 동판 사출 권선을 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출권선 변압기에 대해 Maxwell 2D 및 3D Tool을 이용하여 소형화 및 슬림형에 적합한 평면 Flyback 변압기 최적화 설계를 수행하였다.

  • A noise reduction equipment in power systems was device combined in a passive element such as the form of L, R and C. A analysis of frequency characteristics for the transformer models shall be considered the additional capacitance between the windings($C_{ps}$), terminals($C_s$), and winding-ground($C_g$). A noise in transformer is modeled by take account into the different frequency. In case of the high frequency, transformer windings with stray capacitance have lower impedance. Therefore a noise is transferred from primary winding to secondary winding. Noise Cut Transformer(NCT) was the noise reduction device and was normally single phase two-winding type transformer. We analyzed frequency characteristics using the nodal network analysis with the equivalent circuit and the simulation of the MATLAB.

  • Superconducting fault current(SFCLs) are expected to improve not only reliability but also stability of real power systems. The analysis on the single line-to-ground fault current of the integrated three phase flux-lock type SFCL, which consists of three flux-lock reactor wound on an iron core in each single phase and three YBCO thin films, was investigated in current limiting operating characteristics. We compared additive polarity winding with the subtractive one in the flux lock reactor. Its turns ratio each phase between the primary and the secondary coils is 63:42. When a single line-to-ground fault occurred in any phase, the peak value of line current in the fault phase of the additive polarity winding increased up to 31.44[A] during first-half cycle. On the other hand, the peak value in the subtractive polarity winding increased up to 81.77[A] under the same conditions. This is because the current flow between the primary and the secondary windings becomes to be additive or subtractive in each winding direction. We confirmed that the current limiting behavior in the additive polarity winding was more effective for a single-line-to ground fault.

결선방향에 따른 자속구속형 전류제한기의 퀜치 회복 의존도 해석 (Analysis on Quench Recovery Dependence of A Flux-Lock Type SFCL According to the Winding Directions)

  • 본 논문에서는 결선방향에 따른 자속구속형 전류제한기의 전류제한 및 회 특성에 대해 분석하였다. 자속구속형 초전도 한류기는 초전도 소자와 직렬로 연결된 2차 권선과 병렬로 연결된 1 2차 권선으로 구성되어 있다. 1 2차 권선의 결선방향에 따른 가극 결선과 가극 결선을 갖는 자속구속형 전류제한기를 저항형 전류제한기와 비교하여 분석하였다. 전류제한 및 회복특성은 1 2차 권선의 결선방향에 의존한다. 가극 결선을 갖는 자속구속형 전류제한기의 퀜치시간은 감극 결선이나 저항형 전류제한기보다 더 빠르다는 것을 확인하였다. 초전도 소자에서 소비되는 에너지는 $W= VIt=I^2Rt$으로 표현할 수 있다. 결선 방향에 따라 초전도 소자에서 소비되는 에너지의 차이는 초전도 소자에서 부담하는 전압의 차이 때문이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

자기회로의 위상학적 상사성을 이용한 전류제한기 구조에 관한 연구 (The Research for a Structure of Current Limiter using a Phasic Similitude of Magnetic Circuit)

  • In this paper, current limiter using a magnetic switching which is based on magnetic flux change in the case of fault is proposed. This current limiter consists of iron-core and three parts of coils. One is the primary coil connected to the power system. Another is the secondary coil wound to the opposite direction of the primary coil's winding. The other is the secondary of the secondary coil which is a movable copper plate winding and located below the secondary coil. In the normal state, the magnetic flux produced in the primary and secondary coils flows to the opposite directions each other and becomes to be canceled out. Therefore the voltages induced between the coils are zero. In the case of a fault, at the moment of a fault occurrence recognition, the switch connected to a secondary coil is opened and the secondary of the secondary coil is pulled out to the outside of the iron-core. Then, magnetic flux becomes to flow through the iron-core. Accordingly, the voltage is induced between the both ends of the primary coil and makes the current reduced. Therefore it is possible to cut off the circuit breaker easily with the proposed current limiter. This paper analyzes the current limiting effects and the detailed results are given.

고전력밀도 단일전력단 교류/직류 컨버터 (An Integrated Single Stage AC/DC Converter)

  • A study on an integrated single stage AC/DC converter is presented in this paper. The input current can be controlled by the auxiliary winding($L_{aux}$), auxiliary primary winding($N_3$), and the boost inductor($L_B$) which are designed to operate in discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) to reduced the total harmonic distortion(THD) of input current. The auxiliary primary winding($N_3$) is critically selected in order to compress the input capacitor voltage($V_{in}$) as well as to reduce the current stress of the switch(Q). Low total harmonic distortion(THD), low input voltage($V_{in}$) in universal input voltage($V_{AC}$), low current stress at the switching device and high efficiency are the main consideration keys in this design to achieve high performance system with low cost of single stage AC/DC converter. A 30W single stage AC/DC prototype converter is under study.

하이브리드형 초전도 한류기의 동작 특성 (Operating Characteristics of Hybrid Type Superconducting Fault Current Limiter)

  • We investigated the operating characteristics of the hybrid-type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) according to the inductance of secondary windings. The hybrid type SFCL consists of a transformer that has a primary winding and a secondary winding with serially connected $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ (YBCO) films. The resistive-type SFCL has difficulty when it comes to raising the capacity of the SFCL due to slight differences of critical current densities between units and structure of the SFCL. The hybrid-type SFCL with closed-loop is able to achieve capacity increase through the electrical isolation and reduction of the inductance of the secondary winding with a superconducting element of the same critical current. On the other hand, the current limiting characteristics were nearly identical in the hybrid-type SFCL with open-loop compared to closed-loop, but quench time was longer than the hybrid-type SFCL with closed-loop. We confirmed that the capacity of the SFCL was increased effectively by the reduced inductance of the secondary winding. In addition, the power burden of the system also could be lowered by reducing the inductance of secondary winding.

Simplified 2-D Analytical Model for Winding Loss Analysis of Flyback Transformers

  • The winding loss analysis of a flyback transformer is difficult and ambiguous because the primary side current and the secondary side current differs both in shape and phase, especially for DCM (Discontinuous Conduction Mode) operation. Meanwhile, the fringing field caused by the air gaps further makes the traditional 1-D loss analysis model not directly applicable. The paper gives a thorough investigation into the phase shift of winding currents, which indicates that the phase shift of the high order harmonics is still close to $180^{\circ}$ out-of-phase. Based on the analysis, a simplified 2-D winding loss analytical model for flyback transformers considering the effects of low order harmonics is proposed. By neglecting the y components of the fringing field, the proposed model has an acceptable accuracy and a simple form that is similar to the conventional 1-D model. The power loss calculated with the proposed analysis model is verified by FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations and experimental results.

A Study on the Transformer Design considering the Inrush Current Reduction in the Arc Welding Machine

  • The transformer used in an inverter type arc welding machine is designed to use high frequency in order to reduce its size and cost. Also, selecting core materials that fit frequency is important because core loss increases in a high frequency band. An inrush current can occur in the primary coil of transformer during arc welding and this inrush current can cause IGBT, the switching element, to burn out. The transformer design was carried out in $A_P$ method and amorphous core was used to reduce the size of transformer. In addition, sheet coil was used for primary winding and secondary winding coil considering the skin effect. This paper designed the transformer core with an air gap to prevent IGBT burnout due to the inrush current during welding and proposed the optimum air gap length.

  • This paper present the Half-Bridge converter for low current output. In converter system, magnetic components are important devices used for energy storage, energy transfer, galvanic isolation and filtering. The proposed Half-Bridge converter is to reduce the number of magnetic components. The secondary rectification was discussed by comparison of center-tap type with primary center-core transformer winding and primary side-core transformer winding. A prototype featuring 400V input, 10V output, 400kHz switching frequency, and 100W output power.
