  • To study the influence of different reduced beam section (RBS) on the mechanical performance of modular boltedwelded hybrid connection joints (MHCJs), this article uses ABAQUS to establish and verify the finite element model (FEM) of the test specimens on the basis of quasi-static test research. Based on, 14 joint models featuring different RBS are devised to evaluate their influence on seismic behavior, such as joint failure mode, bending moment (M)-rotation angle (θ) curve, ductility, and energy consumption. The results indicate that when the flange and web are individually weakened, they alleviate to some extent the concentrated stress of the core module (CM) and column end steel skeleton in the joint core area, but both increase the stress on the flange connecting plate (FCP). At the same time, the impact of both on seismic performance such as bearing capacity, stiffness, and energy consumption is relatively small. When simultaneously weakening the flange and web of the steel beam, forming plastic hinges at the weakened position of the beam end, significantly alleviated the stress concentration of the CM and the damage at the FCP, improving the overall deformation and energy consumption capacity of joints. But as the weakening size of the web increases, the overall bearing capacity of the joint shows a decreasing trend.

  • Asymmetric flat sheet poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membranes were fabricated using the phase inversion technique, employing four distinct solvents with varying solubility power: N, N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF), Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP). The influence of these solvents on the crystalline properties of the polymers was investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) to elucidate their role in PVDF polymorphism during membrane formation. Our findings revealed significant variations in membrane crystalline phase due to the dissolution of PVDF in different solvents, with α-polymerization predominant in membranes cast with NMP and DMSO, while DMF and DMAc solvents favored β-type polymerization. Further, various additives including PEG-400, TiO2, LiCl, LiBr, acetone, ethanol, propanol, and water were employed to evaluate their impact on membrane morphology and properties. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Ultimate testing machine (UTM) were utilized to analyze membrane morphology, while the tensile strength, contact angle, pore size, and porosity were estimated using the sessile drop method, imageJ, and gravimetric method, respectively. Our results demonstrated that all additives exerted influence on membrane morphology and properties depending on their characteristics and interactions with solvents and polymers. Notably, acetone, being volatile, facilitated the formation of a thin PVDF layer on the membrane surface, resulting in a reduced average pore size (0.18㎛). Conversely, LiCl and LiBr acted as pore-forming additives, yielding membranes with distinct pore characteristics and porosity. Moreover, water as a non-solvent additive induced pregelation during the nonsolvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) process, thereby promoting pore formation (53% porosity) and enhancing membrane hydrophobicity (104° contact angle). To evaluate the quality of synthesized membranes, permeate flux ranging from 16.2 L/m2.hr to 27.9 L/m2.hr with a salt rejection rate of 98 %, was evaluated using Vacuum Membrane Distillation (VMD).

  • The thermal filter press dewatering(TFPD) technology to improve the dewaterability through increasing the inner vapor pressure, lowering the filtration viscosity and forming the porosity easily within cake as applying the heat at the sludge layer was developed in this study. The hot water with temperature of $95^{\circ}C$ and pressure of $1.2kg_f/cm^2$ was supplied to the heating plate equipped between filter plates with plate size of $470{\times}470mm$ and material of polypropylene. Sludge was dewaterd by supplying pressure of $5kg_f/cm^2$ and then by squeezing pressure of $15kg_f/cm^2$. As a results of estimating the characteristics of thermal dewatering to consider the initial water content and organic content to be influenced by a period of water shortage and rainwater, the dewatered cake water content was about 35 wt% and dewatering velocity was $4DSkg/m^2{\cdot}hr$ under the rainwater period, and the dewatered cake water content was about 50 wt% and dewatering velocity was $1.5DSkg/m^2{\cdot}hr$ in the case of sludge of water shortage season. These results was superior to the mechanical dewatering performance with water content of 70wt% and dewatering velocity of $0.9DSkg/m^2{\cdot}hr$. On the base of the results of TFPD, energy consumpted to deal with DS(Dry Solid) of 1kg was estimated by 300 kJ. It was analyzed that the energy consumption of TFPD was decreased about one third with comparison to the dryer system. Dewatering velocity of this technology was faster than the one of mechanical dewatering equipment and it was easier to product low water content cake. Therefore, this technology was recognized that dewaterability was predominant because of the fast of dewatering velocity and production of low water content cake, and also this known as economical efficiency was excellent because of low energy consumption in comparison with dryer.

  • Value collision takes place in the news organization at times. The concept of social responsibility has been serving as the raison d'$\hat{e}$tre not just of individual reporters but eventually of journalism in general. But when the organizational interests are at stake, more realistic values contributing to the organization often override the normative values. This phenomenon occurs since there exists a clear discrepancy between the nominally highlighted values and the virtual values of press owner or news organization. Focusing on Chosun Ilbo, this paper tries to identify the values a news organization really underlines and pursues, and explores the nature of organizational culture embedded in these values. In specific, this study analyzes such performances as ceremonies and rituals, regular or occasional, in Chosun Ilbo, since these are cultural practices which produce and circulate particular meanings and values forming the basis of organizational culture. According to this study, 'strong unity' is the core value which the owner family in Chosun Ilbo has ever been spotlighting. As long as the strong unity is stressed, the role playing as members of news organization for its interest is more highly regarded than carrying out the normative missions given unto the journalists in general.

  • The constituents of deposits on paper machine and holes/spots in paper have been analyzed by a combination of analytical techniques, such as FTIR, Py-GC-MS, and EDS. FTIR spectroscopy was used prior to Py-GC-MS and EDS analysis, as a preliminary analysis. The analysis of organic components was carried out with a pyrolysis unit connected to a GC-MS, and inorganic components in ash were analyzed by SEM equipped with an EDS analyzer after pyrolysis at $590^{\circ}C$. The deposits on the dryer section were complex pitch, which was the mixture of the organic components of fatty acid ester and starch, and the inorganic components of talc, clay, and calcium carbonate. The complex pitch was estimated to come from the coated broke. We knew the deposits on the metering rod of sym-sizer were associated with the interaction of unstable alkyl keten dimer(AKD) and $CaCO_3$. The compositions of holes or spots varied considerably and were associated with chemical interaction within the system. The holes, spots, and blotches in the finished paper were PE and PP from pulp sources, complex pitch that were caused by the interaction of the different additives in the system, polymer such as flexible PVC that was used for the prop of palette, and hot melt as adhesives that came from the inadequate handling of broke. In addition, we identified that poly(caprolactam) which is used for forming fabrics or press felts, could be mixed with the raw materials by accident and results in streaks on coating.

  • As the awareness of the environmental crisis has recently increased around the world, numerous studies in the transport industry have been conducted to solve this problem through lightweight car bodies. The hot-stamping process has been presented as solution to achieve a light weight. Hot-stamping is a method that is used to obtain ultra-high strength steel (1,500 MPa or greater) by simultaneously forming and cooling boron steel in a press die after heating it to a temperature of $900^{\circ}C$ or above. This study involved a, fundamental examination of laser parameters to investigate the laser weldability of boron steel. As a result, the following optimum parameters for the shielding gas were found: Q = 20 l/min, ${\alpha}=40^{\circ}$, d = 20mm, and l = 0 mm. The hardness of butt weldment increasesed sharply as a result of martensite formation at the fusion zone.

  • The demand for a low dispersion lens with a small refractive index and a high refractive index is increasing, and accordingly, there is an increasing need for a releasable protective film with high heat resistance and abrasion resistance. On the other hand, the optical industry has not yet established a clear standard for the manufacturing process and quality standards for mold-releasing protective films used in aspheric glass lens molding. Optical lens manufacturers treat this technology as proprietary information. In this study, an experiment was conducted regarding the optimization of ion etching, magnetron, and arc current at each source and filter part, and bias voltage in FCVA (filtered cathode vacuum arc)-based Ta-C thin film coatings. This study found that compared to iridium-rhenium alloy thin film sputtering products, the coating conditions were improved by approximately 50%, 20%, and 40% in terms of thickness, hardness, and adhesive strength of the film, respectively. The thin-film coating process proposed in this study is expected to contribute significantly to the development and utilization of glass lenses, which will help enhance the minimum mechanical properties and quality of the mold-release thin film layer required for glass mold surface forming technology.

  • As many Korean libraries has begun to be automated and become a part of the worldwide, open library system, they need a new management. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore the library management in automated libraries and to establish a theory of the library management in information society, The automated libraries could be well explained by the systems theory and the environment of the libraries could be well explained by the contingency theory, The following hypothesis were set to direct this research. 1. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the libraries interact closely with the environment so that the library and the environment become one. 2. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the librarians need to work in the environment for the library networks, standardization of cataloging, or government information policy making. 3. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the librarians only manage the library, The various other library staffs take over the traditional library services directly related to books. The data were gathered from the research done previously, Also the date were collected from the American and Japanese libraries. The findings were as follows: The environment of the library integrated all types of the library services such as school library, university library, etc. And it also integrated all the services of the media centers and the press centers, etc. to library services. And the new library services began in the environment. Librarians worked for these new services. In the library, the librarians distingushed the library system from the environment by planning : mission, goal, objectives, policy, procedures and rules. Library organization became temporary such as forming task forces or matrix or free form. The environment controlled the library. Staffs were controlled by plans or computers. And the professional librarians were controlled by their ability to solve problems raised outside the libraries. Library leaders brought in the technology to the library from its environment. The librarians led the formal and informal organizations so that the staffs cooperated well in their work. And librarians tought the library procedures to the partime workers or the temporary staffs. Participative management and management by objectives were the means of motivating staffs. Budget was based on the ever changing environment. The zero based budget method was applied. Therfore, in the information society, the professional librarians become the able managers in the library and global librarians in the environment.

  • Expressions for determining the value of the impact force as reported in the literature and incorporated into code provisions are essentially quasi-static forces for emulating deflection. Quasi-static forces are not to be confused with contact force which is generated in the vicinity of the point of contact between the impactor and target, and contact force is responsible for damage featuring perforation and denting. The distinction between the two types of forces in the context of impact actions is not widely understood and few guidelines have been developed for their estimation. The value of the contact force can be many times higher than that of the quasi-static force and lasts for a matter of a few milli-seconds whereas the deflection of the target can evolve over a much longer time span. The stiffer the impactor the shorter the period of time to deliver the impulsive action onto the target and consequently the higher the peak value of the contact force. This phenomenon is not taken into account by any contemporary codified method of modelling impact actions which are mostly based on the considerations of momentum and energy principles. Computer software such as LS-DYNA has the capability of predicting contact force but the dynamic stiffness parameters of the impactor material which is required for input into the program has not been documented for debris materials. The alternative, direct, approach for an accurate evaluation of the damage potential of an impact scenario is by physical experimentation. However, it can be difficult to extrapolate observations from laboratory testings to behaviour in real scenarios when the underlying principles have not been established. Contact force is also difficult to measure. Thus, the amount of useful information that can be retrieved from isolated impact experiments to guide design and to quantify risk is very limited. In this paper, practical methods for estimating the amount of contact force that can be generated by the impact of a fallen debris object are introduced along with the governing principles. An experimental-calibration procedure forming part of the assessment procedure has also been verified.
