Numerical and Experimental Analyses of a Hot-Wire Gas Flowmeter

  • A measurement device for gas flow rate using hot-wire module is developed for the utilization in low-accuracy industrial applications. The module has three wires of measuring and heating, and a bridge circuit is installed to detect electric current through the wire in the module. An amplification of the signal and conversion to digital output are conducted for the online measurement with a personal computer. In addition, temperature distribution in the module is numerically analyzed to examine the measured outcome from the module experiment. The flow rate of air and carbon dioxide gas is separately measured for the performance examination of the device. The experimental relation of measurement and flow agrees with the prediction from the numerical analysis. The outcome of the performance test indicates that the accuracy and reproducibility of the module is satisfactory for the purpose of industrial applications.

  • To prevent accidents caused by changes in the surrounding environment or other factors, various protection facilities are installed at the photovoltaic connection module. The main causes of fire are sparks due to foreign substances inside the photovoltaic connection module through high temperature rise and dew condensation in the photovoltaic connection module, and fire due to heat from the power diode. The proposed method can predict the fire by measuring flame, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, temperature, humidity, input voltage, and current on the photovoltaic connection module, and when the fire conditions are reached, fire alarm and power off can be sent to managers and users in real time to prevent fire in advance.

GIS를 이용한 지표화 확산예측모델의 개발 (Development of the Surface Forest Fire Behavior Prediction Model Using GIS)

  • 이 연구에서는 지표화 중심의 산불확산예측 알고리즘을 기반으로 GIS 환경에서 운용이 가능한 지표화 확산예측모델을 개발하였다. 이 모델은 지형, 연료, 기상 등 산불환경인자를 분석하고 입력하는 부분과 시간에 따라 확산속도, 화선에서의 산불강도, 연소면적을 예측하는 지표화 확산예측 부분, 마지막으로 예측결과를 사용자에게 제시하는 출력 부분으로 구성되었다. 산불확산속도를 계산하기 위해서 산불행동에 영향을 미치는 산불환경인자중에서 지형인자는 경사, 기상인자는 풍속, 풍향, 실효습도를 고려하였다. 또한 연료인자는 수치임상도를 이용하여 연료깊이, 연료량, 소화습도를 계산할 수 있는 연료모듈을 개발하여 입력되도록 하였다. 연료습도는 실효습도, 최고온도, 강수량, 일일 적산량의 함수관계로 추정하였다. 모델을 2002년 청양에서 발생한 산불에 적용한 결과 확산속도에 대해 61%의 일치도를 보였다.

유한요소법을 이용한 버 형성 예측 모듈의 개발 (Development of a Module to Predict Burr Formation Using the Finite Element Method)

  • The objective of this study is to develop an analytical module for the prediction of burr formation during cutting process using the finite element method. This module is based on the rigid-plastic finite element method, ductile fracture criterion, fracture propagation technique and node separation criterion. The sequence of burr formation from burr initiation through end of burr formation is simulated and investigated by this module. The effect of material properties, such as AL6061-T6, AL2024-T4 and Copper, and cutting condition, such as rake angle and cutting depth, on burr formation is also discussed in this study. To validate this module the analysis results are compared with experimental ones.

유한 요소 해석 프로그램을 이용한 모듈 내 온도 분포 예측 (Prediction of temperature distribution in PV module using finite element method)

  • PV module is installed in various outdoor conditions such as solar irradiation, ambient temperature, wind speed and etc. Increase in solar cell temperature within PV module aggravates the behaviour and durability of PV module. It is difficult to measure temperature among respective PV module components during PV module operating, because the temperature within PV module depends on thermal characteristics of PV module components materials as well as operating conditions such as irradiation, outdoor temperature, wind etc. In this paper, simulation by using finite element method is conducted to predict the temperature of each components within PV module installed to outdoor circumstance. PV module structure based on conventional crystalline Si module is designed and the measured values of thickness and thermal parameters of component materials are used. The validation of simulation model is confirmed by comparing the calculated results with the measured temperatures data of PV module. The simulation model is also applied to estimate the thermal radiation of PV module by front glass and back sheet.

  • 스마트폰을 위주로 하는 ICT기술이 세계를 선도하고 있다. 2011년 미국의 Apple이 스마트폰 점유율 세계1위의 스마트시대를 열었고, 2013년 한국의 삼성이 세계의 각광을 받고 있지만, 2014년 이후는 중국의 중저가 스마트폰이 기능성과 가격을 경쟁력으로 추격하고 있다. 즉 ICT기술의 Life Cycle은 짧아지고, 투자액은 대규모로 중대되고 있으며, 투자금액의 확대로 인한 기업과 국가경쟁력의 불확실성은 증대하고 있다. 2013년 창조경제를 바탕으로 하는 한국의 ICT경쟁력을 강화할 시점에서 유망 ICT기술과 투자개발을 위한 예측은 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 유망ICT기술을 위한 지적재산권(특허), ICT시장 환경을 분석한다. Matrix Module 별 정의를 하고, 미래부상기술 분석방법을 통하여 유망 ICT기술 Matrix의 결과를 적용한다. 본 논문은 급격한 ICT시장 환경 변화에 따른 Research & Development Matrix Module을 연구하여, 국가ICT 유망기술 발굴과 예측에 기여할 것이다.

Matlab을 이용한 손상된 바이패스 다이오드가 포함된 PV 모듈의 출력 추정 (Estimation of Output Power for PV Module with Damaged Bypass Diode using MATLAB)

  • Installed PV module in field is affected by shading caused by various field environmental factors. Bypass diodes are installed in PV module for preventing a power loss and degradation of PV module by shading. But, Bypass diode is easily damaged by surge voltage and has often initial a defect. This paper propose the electric characteristic variation and the power prediction of PV module with damaged bypass diode. Firstly, the resistance for normal bypass diode and damaged bypass diode of resistance was measured by changing the current. When the current increases, the resistance of normal bypass diode is almost constant but the resistance of damaged bypass diode increases. Next, To estimate power of PV module by damaged bypass diode, the equation for the current is derived using solar cell equivalent circuit. Finally, the derived equation was simulated by using MatLab tools, was verified by comparing experimental data.

  • Spin coater is regarded as a major module rotating at high speed to be used build up polymer resin thin film layer fur bonding process of GaAs wafer. This module is consisted of spin unit for spreading uniformly, align device, resin spreading nozzle and et. al. Specially, spin unit which is a component of module can cause to vibrate and finally affect to the uniformity of polymer resin film layer. For the stability prediction of rotation velocity and uniformity of polymer resin film layer, it is very important to understand the dynamic characteristics of assembled spin coater module and the dynamic response mode resulted from rotation behavior of spin chuck. In this paper, stress concentration mode and the deformed shape of spin chuck generated due to angular acceleration process are presented using analytical method for evaluation of structural safety according to the revolution speed variation of spin unit. And also, deformation form of GaAs wafer due to dynamic behavior of spin chuck is presented fur the comparison of former simulated results.

H.264 하이프로파일 인트라 프레임 부호화기 설계 (The design of high profile H.264 intra frame encoder)

  • 이 논문에서는, 화면내 예측기, CAVLC(구문기반 적응가변길이 부호화기), DDR2 메모리 제어모듈을 집적화한 H.264 하이프로파일 화면내 부호화기를 제안한다. 설계된 부호화기는 한 매크로블록당 440 cycle에 동작할 수 있으며, 부호화기의 기능을 검증하기 위하여, JM13.2으로부터 참조 C 코드를 개발하고, 참조 C코드로부터 생성된 테스트벡터를 이용하여 개발된 하드웨어를 검증하였다. 개발된 부호화기는 FPGA에서 검증하였으며, DMA 는 200MHz에서, 부호화기모듈은 50MHz에서, 영상입력모듈(VIM)은 25MHz에서 동작한다. 회로의 크기는 Virtex 5XC5VLX330을 사용시에 약 20%의 LUT(43099개)를 사용하였다.

  • The maritime industry is expanding at an alarming rate and as such there is a perpetual need to improve situation awareness in the maritime environment using new and emerging technology. Tracking is one of the numerous ways of enhancing situation awareness by providing information that may be useful to the operator. The tracking system described herein comprises determining existing states of own ship, state prediction and state compensation caused by random noise. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the process of tracking and develop a tracking algorithm by using ${\alpha}-{\beta}-{\gamma}$ tracking filter under a random noise or irregular motion for use in a warship. The algorithm involves initializing the input parameters of position, velocity and course. The actual positions are then computed for each time interval. In addition, a weighted difference of the observed and predicted position at the nth observation is added to the predicted position to obtain the smoothed position. This estimation is subsequently employed to determine the predicted position at (n+1). The smoothed values, predicted values and the observed values are used to compute the twice distance root mean square (2drms) error as a measure of accuracy of the tracking module.
