합성조건에 따른 $BaCO_3$ 마이크로 결정의 형태 변화 (Morphological changes of $BaCO_3$ microcrystal with the synthetic conditions)

  • 침전법, 수열 반응법, 리간드 보조법을 사용하여 다양한 형태의 $BaCO_3$ 결정을 합성하였다. 수용액에서 $Ba(NO_3)_2$$Na_2CO_3$를 단순 침전시키면 불규칙한 입자 형태의 $BaCO_3$ 마이크로 결정이 얻어졌다. 수열 반응으로 $Ba(NO_3)_2$와 urea를 반응시켜 육각형 막대 피라미드 형태의 $BaCO_3$를 합성하였으며, 리간드 보조 수열 반응법을 사용하여 육각형 막대형의 $BaCO_3$를 합성하였다. 리간드 농도가 증가 할수록 $BaCO_3$ 육각형 막대의 종횡비가 증가하였다.

중량식 원형 적설판 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Weight Type Rounded Snow Plate)

  • We need water equivalent unit data of snowfall for the purpose of forecast and hydrology related research area. This study developed new method of automatic recording snowfall as weight unit with circle type plate using stain-gauge loadcell. Field test of instrument carried out at Daegwallyeong Obs. Station from 20 to 23 Jan. 2008 during heavy snowfall. There is 74.2cm snow depth and 54.6mm precipitation by Daegwallyeong Obs. Station. But the instrument of this study recorded 71.0mm of precipitation amount. Because of different observation method can cause more 15.4mm than Daegwallyeong Obs. Station. But this study gives the possibility of observation of new snow fall measurement under freezing conditions of snow. From the observation data the density of snowfall calculated from 0.09 to $1015g/cm_3$ from the observation period. And have a good relations between manual observation and automatic observation data from this study instrument with slope of 1.35 to 1.39.

  • A series of $Ce_1Mg_xZr_{1-x}O_2$ (CMZO) mixed metal oxide with different molar ratio were prepared by simple co-precipitation method. The prepared materials were tested for their catalytic activity performance using Knoevenagel condensation of various aromatic aldehydes with barbituric acid under solvent-free condition in microwave. The best catalytic activity was obtained with CMZO (1:0.6:0.4). The synthesized materials were characterized by using XRD, FT-IR, SEM-EDS techniques.

  • Spinel structured lithium managanese oxide $(LiMn_2O_4)$ powder with well defined facetted morphology was prepared by precipitation-evaporation method. {111}, {110}, and {100} planes are mainly observed in the $LiMn_2O_4$ powder. And powder shape of tetradecahedron and octahedron was observed depending on the calcinations temperature. The observed powder morphology observed seemed to be related to the nonstoichiometry of the oxygen in the $LiMn_2O_4$ spinel structure. Oxygen nonstoichiometry might be responsible for the Jahn-teller effect and structure transition which in turn affects the surface energy of the {111}, {110}, and {100} planes. Powder shape transition from tetradecahedron to octahedron seemed to be related to the surface energy of the {111}, {110}, and {100} planes with oxygen nonstoichiometry.

  • The properties of the powders of ZrO2-MgO system prepared by co-precipitation method using ZrOCl2.8H2O and MgCl2.6H2O as starting materials were investigated after calcination from $600^{\circ}C$ to 120$0^{\circ}C$. The crystallization temperature of amorphous ZrO2 was increased as MgO contents increased. The crystallite size of ZrO2 was increased with increasing calcination temperature. The crystallite size of tetragonal ZrO2 calcined at 100$0^{\circ}C$ for 1hr wa about 45nm, and MgO contributed effectively to promoting stability of tetragonal Zirconia.

치관보철용 Hydroxyapatite의 기계적 물성에 미치는 pH 및 반응온도의 영향 (Effect of pH and Reaction Temperature on Mechanical Properties of Hydroxyapatite for Dental prosthesis)

  • Hydroxyapatite powder were synthesized by precipitation method, varying pH, and reaction temperature. The powders were heated at 1,200$^{\circ}{\cdots}$ and 1,300$^{\circ}{\cdots}$ for fabrication of dental prosthesis. The results are as follows: Synthesized powder showed the smallest particle in size, under the conditions of pH 11 and reaction temperature 37$^{\circ}{\cdots}$. The hydroxyapatite was partially converted to $\alpha,\;\beta$-TCP at 1,200$^{\circ}{\cdots}$ and 1,300$^{\circ}{\cdots}$. Mechanical strength of sample was affected by such powder preparation conditions as pH and reaction temperature and sintering temperature. The mechanical strength of sample prepared under the same conditions was increased with increasing pH, reaction temperature and sintering temperature.

초음파를 이용한 페라이트 분말의 결정화 (Crystallization of Ferrite Powder Using Ultrasonic Wave)

  • A new technique capable of accelerating the crystallization of ferrite powder at low temperature is developed. Effects of the ultrasonic waves on the crystallization were studied for ferrite powders prepared using the co-precipitation method. The crystallization of the ferrite powders exposed to the ultrasonic waves were characterized by the XRD. The amorphous ferrite powders prepared using the co-precipitation method were crystallized as a result of the exposure to the ultrasonic waves for 5h and the crystallization of the ferrite powders became more enhanced in proportion to the time exposed. The ferrite powder exposed to the ultrasonic waves for 25h had higher crystallinity a larger specific surface area than the ferrite powder calcined at 500$^{\circ}C$ for 2h.

  • $Al_2O_3-ZrO_2$ ceramics was obtained by the co-precipitation method using $Al_2(SO_4)_2$.$18H_2O$ and $ZrOCl_2$.$8H_2O$ as starting materials $MgCl_2$.$6H_2O$ as a sintering aid and NH4OH as a hydrolyzing agent. The coprecipitate from the above raw materials was calcined at 125$0^{\circ}C$ for 1h and again sintered at 1$650^{\circ}C$ for 2h before measurements of strength hardness and fracture toughness. MgO addition was found to increase mechanical properties of the $Al_2O_3-ZrO_2$ system. The strength and frac-ture toughness of $Al_2O_3-ZrO_2$ ceramics were considered to be increased by stress-induced phase tranforma-tion of $ZrO_2$.

The Phase Separation Phenomena of PSf/NMP Solutions in Varying Relative Humidities

  • Generally, two different techniques have been employed for the precipitation of membranes from a polymer casting solution. In the first method, a precipitant is introduced from a vapor phase. In this case the precipitaion rate is very slow and a more or less symmetric structure is formed. In the second method, a precipitant is added to a casting solution by immersing the cast polymer film in a nonsolvent bath. In this case the precipitation rate is very fast and a skinned asymmetric membrane structure is obtained. In this study, we introduced water-vapor to PSf/NMP solution and took photographs of phase separation phenomena of polymer lean phase.

  • The effects of starting composition, sintering temperature and porosity on the mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite ceramics were investigated. The hydroxyapatite powder were prepared by precipitation method using Ca(NO3)2.4H2O and (NH4)2.HPO4. The obtained powders were Ca-deficient hydroxyapatites and as the Ca/P mole ration in the initial solution was increased, the particle size of the precipitates was decreased, and the decomposition of hydroxyapatite to $\beta$-TCP was controlled. The porosity, as well as Ca/P mole ratio in starting composition and sintering temperature, plays major role in the mechanical properties of dense hydroxyapatite ceramics.
