  • The purpose of this study was to research the differences between gender roles and creativity. This study was done based on 178 pre-service teachers who were from the Department of Early Childhood Education in Universities around the Busan area. The researchers have collected statistical data by questioning pre-service teachers about creative thinking tests, creative personality tests, and gender role identification awareness tests. The data was interpreted by the Paerson's Simple Product-moment Correlation Coefficient method, the one-way ANOVA method, and the $Sch\acute{e}ffe$ Post-hoc comparison method. According to this study, the group perceived of high androgyny type group showed the highest level in important factors of creative thinking, such as fluency, elaborateness, ness, and openness. This result meant that the more a pre-service teacher was aware of the identity of gender roles, the more she or he thought creatively. Additionally, the acceptance of authority, an element of the creative personality factor, showed the highest level in a high feminity type group. On the other hand, self confidence, inquisitiveness, and disciplined imagination showed the highest level in a group which perceived the identity of androgyny type roles.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest basic data for prevention of child abuse by examining the patterns and characteristics of child abuse observed at child-care centers. Data was collected by pre-service early childhood teachers majoring in child studies in an education practice session from May 1 to May 31, 2015 based on examined information and class discussion. This study shows that emotional abuse was performed most often, followed by neglect and physical abuse. Physical abuse was observed as a form of punishment and beating, whereas emotional abuse was observed in the form of force, sarcastic remarks, verbal attacks, and disregard. Neglect was observed as exclusion and indifference. Most crucial prevention against child abuse lies in teachers' personality education and concerns with their own mental health as well as children's rights education.

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically compare statistical models for pre-service teachers' help networks. We identified similarities and differences based on the results of the binary and valued ERGM. Research questions are as follows: First, what are the similarities of factors influencing the binary/valued help network for pre-service teachers? Second, what are differences of factors influencing the binary/valued help network for pre-service teachers? We measured 42 pre-service teachers with focus on their help and friend networks, happiness, and personal characteristics. Results indicated that, first, the similar factors influencing the binary and valued help network of pre-service teachers were local dependencies (reciprocity, transitivity), similarity (major, gender), activity (early childhood education, negative emotion), popularity (early childhood education) and multiplicity (friend network). Second, the difference between factors affecting pre-service teacher's binary and valued help network was the effect of activity (physical education) and popularity (GPA, negative emotion). Based on these findings, we presented implications.

  • This study investigates how well pre-teachers in preschools aware the importance of science teaching methods, goals and efficacy, and how different the pre-teachers recognize the importance of methods and goals in science teaching according to the levels of their science teaching efficacy. The subjects were 207 pre-service preschool teachers in Chonnam University and Chonbuk University. The data were collected by using three questionnaires("Science teaching efficacy", "Science teaching goal" and "Science teaching method"). The data were analyzed by a t-test and descriptive statistic. The results are as follows: first, the efficacy levels of the pre-teachers are higher than the average. The pre-teachers perceive a 'process-oriented' goal more importantly than a 'content-oriented' goal in early science education. Also, they recognize science teaching methods as being significant in the order of an 'interactive' approach, an 'activity-discovery' approach and a 'knowledge-transmission' approach. Second, the pre-teachers with high teaching efficacy recognize a 'process-oriented' goal as being more important than those with low teaching efficacy do.

  • This study aims to provide basic data for revitalizing creativity research related to early childhood teachers by analyzing creativity research related to early childhood teachers. For this study, 103 master's and doctoral dissertations in Korea, which were searched through the National Assembly Library and the Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), were selected under the themes of 'early childhood teacher', 'creativity', and 'creativity research trends'. The frequency and percentage were calculated by analyzing creativity research related to early childhood teachers with five criteria: research period, research content, research method, research subject, and creativity factor. As a result of the study, first, as for the trends of creativity research related to early childhood teachers, 91 master's theses (88.3%) and 12 doctoral theses (11.7%) were conducted from 1991 to 2022, focusing on master's theses. Second, trends by research content were found in 20 basic studies (19.4%) and 83 practical studies (80.6%). Creativity research related to early childhood teachers is being actively conducted centering on practical research. Third, trends by research method showed 96 quantitative studies (93.2%), 7 qualitative studies (6.8%), and 0 literature studies (0%). Creativity studies related to early childhood teachers were being conducted with a focus on quantitative research. Fourth, the trend by research subject consisted of 100 studies (97.1%) related to early childhood teachers and 3 studies (2.9%) related to pre-service early childhood teachers. Fifth, trends by creativity factor were found in 56 studies (54.4%) related to teacher's variables and 47 studies (45.6%) related to creativity education methods. Studies related to teacher's variables were relatively higher than creativity education methods. As a result of this study, there is a lack of Christian education research in creativity research related to early childhood teachers, so it is expected that it will be done in the future.
