Since a new entrant in the telecommunications market requires time in order to construct its own network, a requirement on the incumbent operator to implement carrier selection and pre-selection can enable a new entrant to immediately attract customers and earn revenue. Carrier selection can normally be accomplished in two ways, on a call-by-call basis or through carrel pre-selection. Call-by-call selection allows customers to choose a new entrant rather than the incumbent carrier using a specific code designated to the new carrier each time a call is made. Carrier Pre-Selection, on the other hand, allows customers directly connect to the network of one provider to have access automatically to another company's services when they pick up the phone to make certain types of calls. The carrier pre-selection option is generally considered to be a second regulatory step following the implementation of the call-by-call carrier selection option. Carrier pre-selection with the ability to override on a call-by-call basis for long distance, international, local, and fixed-to-mobile calls has now been implemented in many EU countries. This paper attempts to identify the issues in introducing CPS and to draw policy implications from other countries' experiences.

자연선택개념은 진화론의 핵심개념으로 다양한 생물학적 문제를 해결하기 위해 이해해야 될 필수 개념이다. 이 연구는 한국예비생물 교사들의 자연선택개념의 이해 수준을 조사하기 위하여 중국, 미국, 독일의 생물전공자와 비교하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히 이 연구에서는 자연선택개념의 두 개념요소인 생태개념과 유전개념으로 구분하여 예비생물교사의 자연선택개념을 분석하였다. 우리나라 예비생물교사 376명을 포함하여 1226명의 한국, 중국, 미국, 독일의 생물전공 예비교사의 자료를 토대로 분석하였다. 검사도구는 생태개념과 유전개념문항 각 10개씩을 포함하고 있는 Conceptual Inventory of Natural Selection의 20문항을 라쉬모델, 다변량분산분석, 일변량분산 분석을 활용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 우리나라 예비생물교사의 자연선택개념 수준은 중국과 비슷하고 미국, 독일에 비하여 낮았다. 생태개념과 유전개념으로 구분하여 살펴보면, 우리나라 예비생물교사 1학년의 경우 중국과 독일에 비하여 유전개념이 유의미하게 낮았으며, 4학년의 경우 미국과 독일에 비하여 생태개념이 유의미하게 낮았다. 3년간의 예비생물교사 교육과정 동안 유전개념에 대한 교육은 성공적이었으나, 생태개념의 교육은 성공적이지 못하였다. 이 연구결과를 토대로 자연선택개념의 이해를 위한 예비생물 교사교육에 대해서 논의한다.

본 논문에서는 합성단위 선택 (unit selection) 기반 일본어 합성기에 필요한 후보 합성단위들에 대한 사전선택 (pre-selection)의 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 일반적인 사전선택 방법은 하나의 억양구에서 음소 열에 대한 비용을 계산하여 이용하는 방법이다. 그런데, 일본어는 다른 언어와는 다르게 상대적인 피치의 높낮이로 나타나는 악센트를 가지는 언어이고, 몇 개의 단어가 하나의 악센트구를 형성하는 특징이 있다. 또한 일본어의 운율은 악센트 구를 기본 단위로 하여 변화하는 특징이 있어서, 사전선택에서 이러한 악센트 구 단위의 운율 변화를 반영함으로써 음질을 향상시킬 수 있고, 악센트 구에서 음소 열에 대한 비용을 계산하여 억양구에서 하는 것보다 계산량을 줄일 수 있다. 제안한 방법은 일본어의 악센트 구를 정의하여 음소 열에서 이것을 분석하고, 각 악센트 구에서 합성 할 음소의 각 후보에 대해 CCL (Connected Context Length)을 구하는 악센트 구 매칭을 이용하여 사전선택을 수행하는 방법이다. 제안한 방법은 Voiceware의 합성기인 VoiceText를 baseline 시스템으로 사용하여 구현하였고, 인지적 에러 (억양 에러, 연결 에러)와 합성시간에 대해 평가하였다. 실험 결과, 제안한 방법은 합성 음질을 보다 자연스럽게 향상시켰고, 합성 속도를 개선하였다.

본 논문은 그래픽 처리 뿐 만 아니라 범용 연산의 가속화를 지원하기 위한 SIMT 구조 GP-GPU의 Dispatch Unit과 Operand Selection Unit을 제안한다. Warp Scheduler로부터 발행된 명령어에서 사용되는 Operand의 모든 정보를 Decoding 하면 불필요한 Operand Load가 발생하여 레지스터 부하가 발생 한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 Pre-decoding방법을 사용하여 Operand의 정보만을 먼저 Decoding 하여 Operand Load를 줄이고, 레지스터의 부하를 줄일 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 Dispatch Unit에서 나온 Operand 정보들을 레지스터 뱅크 충돌을 방지하는 방법을 적용한 Operand Selection Unit에 전달해 전체적인 처리 성능을 향상 시켰다. Modelsim 10.0b를 이용하여 Warp Scheduler로부터 발행된 10,000개의 임의의 명령어를 처리하여 소요되는 총 Clock Cycle을 측정하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Pre-Decoding 기능을 탑재한 Dispatch Unit과 Operand Selection Unit을 적용하여 기존의 방법들 보다 각각 약 11%, 24%의 처리 효율이 증가한 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

As the attracting foreign student has become a very important strategy, detailed researches on their college selection and their satisfaction with college life are needed. Especially it is necessary to distinguish ordinary international students and those who take classes in Local Education Centers (LEC) before coming to Korea. The central purpose of this study is to identify how the two types of students differ in their perception of college selection factors and what factors affect their satisfaction with college life. A total of 186 international students participated in the study. It was found that the most important college selection factor of the pre-educated LEC students was 'obtaining academic ability through online classes and transfer of credit hours'. Second, these students reported that the two influential factors for their satisfaction with college life were 'quality of education' and 'cultural experience program'. Third, it was found that the major college selection factors influencing ordinary international students' college life satisfaction were 'expertise of faculty', 'transfer of credit through curriculum links', and 'recommendation from teachers at home country'. Fourth, the major factors affecting the pre-educated LEC students' satisfaction with college life were 'KSL classes at LE's', 'expertise of faculty', and 'financial aid system'.

The revised curriculum in 2007 includes open inquiry approach to increase students' interest in science and to build up creativity. So teachers and pre-service teachers should be equipped with the ability of open inquiry performance. In order to investigate pre-service teachers' readiness to perform open inquiry tasks, we analyzed reports written as homework by a group of 71 juniors in a national university of education. The investigation tool was composed of four domains: topic selection, the inquiry process, the conclusion, and reporting. Each domain had three or four sub-domains. By using the framework, four raters scored the students' inquiry reports. The findings reveal that the pre-service elementary school teachers have difficulty in the domain of 'topic selection' and the 'conclusion' compared with the other domains. Under the topic selection domain, they showed weaknesses in 'creativity' and 'scientific topic' and under the conclusion domain, they had difficulty in 'recognizing limits' and 'value of conclusion'. The finding suggests that pre-service teaching program should provide with opportunities to perform open inquiry continually.

본 논문에서는 MIMO-OFDM 시스템에 여러 MIMO 기법을 적용한 후 모의실험을 통하여 성능을 비교 및 분석하였고, 또한 Pre-coding, Antenna Subset Selection, AMC 기법을 적용하여 시스템을 분석하였다. 그리고 최종적으로 제안한 Adaptive-MCM(Adaptive-MIMO-Coding-Modulation) 기법의 성능을 분석하였다. 그 결과 4세대 이동통신 시스템에서 요구되고 있는 최대 전송률과 고품질 서비스의 Trade-off 관계를 개선할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

"한국노동패널"을 이용하여 조기은퇴 행위와 지연은퇴 행위가 은퇴 전 후 소비에 미치는 영향을 2단계 전환회귀분석방법으로 분석하였다. 추정 과정에서 본 논문에서는 조기은퇴 결정이 은퇴 전 후 소비에 미치는 영향을 크게 두 가지로 구분하였다. 첫 번째는 조기은퇴 결정이 존재하는 경우와 존재하지 않는 경우를 비교하는 것으로서 추정결과 선택편의(selection bias)가 존재하는지를 통해 살펴보았다. 두 번째는 조기은퇴 결정 후 조기은퇴자의 소비를 지연은퇴자의 소비와 비교하는 것으로서, 소비의 소득탄력성을 비교하여 살펴보았다. 추정 결과 조기은퇴를 결정했을 경우 조기은퇴 결정이 존재하지 않는 경우와 비교했을 때 은퇴 전 소비가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 조기은퇴자와 지연은퇴자의 소비의 소득탄력성을 비교해 본 결과 소득이 증가하였을 때 조기은퇴자의 소비 증가폭이 지연은퇴자보다 작았다. 이상의 결과는 조기은퇴 결정 이후 상대적으로 길어진 은퇴 기간이 은퇴 전 소비에 영향을 미치고 있음을 보여주는 것이다.

All over the world, people are affected by many chronic diseases and medical practitioners are working hard to find out the symptoms and remedies for the diseases. Many researchers focus on the feature detection of the disease and trying to get a better health recommendation system. It is necessary to detect the features automatically to provide the most relevant solution for the disease. This research gives the framework of Health Recommendation System (HRS) for identification of relevant and non-redundant features in the dataset for prediction and recommendation of diseases. This system consists of three phases such as Pre-processing, Feature Selection and Performance evaluation. It supports for handling of missing and noisy data using the proposed Imputation of missing data and noise detection based Pre-processing algorithm (IMDNDP). The selection of features from the pre-processed dataset is performed by proposed ensemble-based feature selection using an expert's knowledge (EFS-EK). It is very difficult to detect and monitor the diseases manually and also needs the expertise in the field so that process becomes time consuming. Finally, the prediction and recommendation can be done using Support Vector Machine (SVM) and rule-based approaches.

This paper proposes a variable break that can offset prediction error as well as a pre-selection methods, based on the variable break, for enhanced unit selection. In Japanese, a sentence consists of several APs (Accentual phrases) and MPs (Major phrases), and the breaks between these phrases must predicted to realize text-to-speech systems. An MP also consists of several APs and plays a decisive role in making synthetic speech natural and understandable because short pauses appear at its boundary. The variable break is defined as a break that is able to change easily from an AP to an MP boundary, or from an MP to an AP boundary. Using CART (Classification and Regression Trees), the variable break is modeled stochastically, and then we pre-select candidate units in the unit-selection process. As the experimental results show, it was possible to complement a break prediction error and improve the naturalness of synthetic speech.
