Pre-primary early childhood teachers' perception of the subject of 'Infant Teaching and Learning Methods' in the Early Childhood Teacher Training Course (유아교원양성과정에서 '영유아 교수·학습방법' 교과목에 대한 예비유아교사의 인식)

  • This study is a study on the perceptions of pre-primary early childhood teachers on teaching and learning methods for infants and toddlers in the early childhood teacher training process. This is a mixed study using word cloud analysis and qualitative case analysis on the subject, focusing on literature research and understanding of pre-primary early childhood teachers' 'teaching and learning methods for infants and toddlers'. The purpose of this study was to find out the meaning of a early childhood teacher through thoughts on teaching and learning methods for infants, difficulties, points to be learned, teaching competency to be good as a teacher, and experiences for teaching professionalism. Through the results of this study, it is expected to find a way to increase their sense of efficacy on teaching and learning methods when conducting classes for young children in the future, and to provide basic data for improving the quality of early childhood education.

Emotional reading education to improve the character of of Pre-Education Teachers (예비유아교사의 인성 증진을 위한 감성독서교육)

  • This study tried to analyze the case of character education class using reading for pre-primary early childhood teachers. To this end, the criteria for character education were established based on literature research, and a list of books appropriate for it was selected, and then applied to practice. The goal of character education class using reading for pre-school teachers is to cultivate the character that an early childhood teacher should have and to develop the ability to apply character education program through reading to young children. This study selected books based on the contents of personality virtues after taking a course on the concept and theory of personality contents for college students who are taking the 'personality and emotional reading' course in their major. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it presents contents that can be practiced in connection with the family as a personality education program that can be applied not only to pre-primary teachers, but also to early childhood teachers and young children.

A Study on Core Competency of Beginning Childhood Teacher in order to Correspond to the Future Society (미래사회에 대응하기 위해 초임 유아교사에게 요구되는 핵심역량 도출에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs of experts in childhood education field on what is the primary core competency of the beginning childhood teachers to cope with the future society. For this, the survey was conducted for 252 of teachers in charge, assistant directors, and directors who are currently working at the daycare centers and kindergartens in Busan and Gyeongsangnamdo. In order to derive the requirement and priority on the core competencies required to beginning childhood teachers, 3-step analysis method of paired t-Test, Borich Needs Model Analysis, and the Locus for Focus was used. As a result, seven sub-competencies of five competencies of cooperation, communication, self-improvement and development, vocational ethics, and emotional intelligence was identified as the core competencies required by priority to the beginning childhood teachers in order to cope with the future society. These results may provide the basic data for designing the competence and field-based curriculum in the teachers' training schools for pre-service childhood teachers.

The Effect of Science Experiments in Collaboration with Art Activities for Students' Self-directed Learning Skills and the Creative Personality in Elementary School (미술활동과 연계한 과학실험활동이 초등학생의 자기주도학습능력과 창의적 성격에 미치는 영향)

  • Until now, research to integrate art activities and science education have been making steady progress in the field of primary education and early childhood education that are directly involved in the art education of students. However, some science educators were interested in visualizing the artifacts by using design principles and experimental results through STEAM education. So, when conducting lessons for integrating science education with art activities, research is needed on the changing of the students' ability. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of science experiments in collaboration with art activities for students' self-directed learning skills and creative personality in elementary school. This study was applied to 30 students(16 male, 14 female) of 4th grade in Changwon C elementary school. The teaching materials of this study was extracted some of the experiments from the 2007 revised national curriculum in elementary science textbook and 'Teachers for Exciting Science'. Experimental treatment was performed over a total of 10 class 5 subjects and a pre-post test was conducted through G-TAGAS. As a result, science experiments in collaboration with art activities have improved significantly students' self-directed learning skills and creative personality.
