This paper presents a precision on-line model for the prediction of the roll force and tension distributions across the strip in hot strip rolling. The approach is based on an approximate 3-D theory of rolling, and in particular, considers the effect of pre-deformation of the strip, which occurs near the roll entrance before the strip enters the bite zone. The prediction accuracy of the proposed model is examined through comparison with the predictions from the 3-D finite element models.

Tension tests of half-thickness concrete containment wall elements and material tests were conducted to derive a crack pattern and constitutive law of concrete. Main test variables are reinforcement ratio and the applied load ratio in two direction, and its effect on the behavior of reinforced concrete panel subjected to biaxial tension is investigated. Based on the test results, analytical expression is derived for the stress-strain relationship of concrete in tension. Ultimate analyses of reinforced concrete panels are carried out by a general purpose structural analysis computer program(ABAQUS), and its results are compared with the test results. The present analysis focuses on the effects of pre-analysis prior to test of specimens. These ultimate tensile analyses as pre-analysis are essential and important to design an effectual scheme of test.
The purpose of this study is to develop a device to replace the pre-boring method, which is generally constructed, to prevent pile damage caused by tension cracks that reason from tension waves generated during PHC pile construction on soft ground. Tension cracks are caused by tension waves from the hammer striking during the PHC pile hitting on the soft ground, which in turn leads to faulty construction. In order to prevent the occurrence of tension waves generated during driving, apply separate driving force increasing device to prevent the generation of tension waves, and pile damage as well. Also, it is an eco-friendly construction method that reduces smoke and noise by improving construction speed, reducing construction costs, and able to small equipment when developing equipment. This development equipment is a piece of effective equipment that can pioneer the Saemangeum reclamation area, the South-east Asian construction market, where the Deep soft ground is distributed.

In this paper, dynamic track tension fur high mobility tracked vehicle is investigated by multibody dynamic simulation techniques. This research focuses on a heavy military tracked vehicle which has sophisticated suspension and rubber bushed rack systems. In order to obtain accurate dynamic track tension of track subsystems, each track link is modeled as a body which has six degrees of freedom. A compliant bushing element is used to connect track links. Various virtual proving ground models are developed to observe dynamic changes of the track tension. Numerical studies of the dynamic track tension are validated against the experimental measurements. The effects of pre-tensions, traction forces, fuming resistances, sprocket torques, ground profiles, and vehicle speeds, for dynamic responses of track tensions are explored, respectively.
Magnetic flux sensors are commonly used in monitoring the cable force, but the application of the sensors in large diameter non-closed Galfan cables, as those adopted in Yueqing Gymnasium which is located in Yueqing City, Zhejiang Province, China and is the largest span hybrid space structure in the world, is seldom done in engineering. Based on the construction of Yueqing Gymnasium, this paper studies the cable tension monitoring using the magnetic flux method across two stages, namely, the pre-calibration stage before the cable leaves the rigging factory and the field tension formation stage of the cable system. In the pre-calibration stage in the cable factory, a series of 1:1 full-scale comparative tests were carried out to study the feasibility and relability of this kind of monitoring method, and the influence on the monitoring results of charging and discharging voltage, sensor location, cable diameter and fitting method were also studied. Some meaningful conclusions were obtained. On this basis, the real-time cable tension monitoring system of the structure based on the magnetic flux method is established. During the construction process, the monitoring results of the cables are in good agreement with the data of the on-site pressure gauge. The work of this paper will provide a useful reference for cable force monitoring in the construction process of long-span spatial structures.
Prestressed composite steel-concrete beams are still a technology restricted to repair sites of large-scale structures and spans. One of the reasons for that is the absence of standard frameworks and publications regarding their design and implementation. In addition, the primary normative codes do not address this subject directly, which might be related to a scarcity of papers indicating methods of design that would align the two technics, composite beams and external prestressing. In this context, this paper proposes methods to analyze the sizing of prestressed composite beams submitted to pre-tension and post-tension with a straight or polynomial layout cable. This inquiry inspected a hundred and twenty models of prestressed composite beams according to its prestressing technology and the eccentricity and value of the prestressing force. The evaluation also included the ratio between span and height of the steel profile, thickness and typology of the concrete slab, and layout of the prestressing cables. As for the results, it was observed that the eccentricity of the prestressing force doesn't significantly influence the bending resistance. In prestressed composite beams subjected to a sagging moment, the ratio L/d can reach 35 and 30 for steel-concrete composite slabs and solid concrete slabs, respectively. Considering the negative bending moment resistance, the value of the L/d ratio must be less than or equal to 25, regardless of the type of slab. When it comes to the value of the prestressing force, a variation greater than 10% causes a 2.6% increase in the positive bending moment resistance and a 4% decrease in the negative bending moment resistance. The pre-tensioned composite beams showed a superior response to flexural-compression and excessive compression limit states than the post-tensioned ones.

Pre-foaming, one of the manufacturing way of foamed concrete, is influenced by foaming agent. When the foaming agent diluted with water, surface tension and viscosity are varied. Therefore, this study is reviewing the surface tension, viscosity and unit weight of foam by experimental factor such as foaming agent types(AES, AOS, VS FP) and foam agent dilution concentration (1, 3, 5%) and temperature of materials (5, 10, 20℃). As an expeimental result, the surface tension and viscosity slightly increased with increasing concentrations. Meanwhile, when increasing temperature, the viscosity has decreased. FP produce relatively stable foams only in case 3% or more, which produce unstable foams containing large amount of water content by decreasing only insignificant surface tension when diluted at concentration of 1%.
To secure the stability of geotechnical infrastructures and minimize failures during the construction process, a number of support systems have been introduced in the last several decades. In particular, stabilization methods using steel bars have been widely used in the field of geotechnical engineering. Rock bolt system is representative support system using steel bars. Pre-stressing has been applied to enhance reinforcement performance but can be released because of the failure of head or anchor sections. To overcome this deficiency, this paper proposes an innovative support system that can actively reinforce the weak ground along the whole structural element by introducing an active tension bolt containing a spring unit to the middle of the steel bar to increase its reinforcement capacity. In addition, the paper presents the support mechanism of the active tension bolt based on a theoretical study and employs an experimental study to validate the performance of the proposed active tension bolt based on a down-scaled model. To examine the feasibility of the active tension unit in a pillar, the paper considers a pullout test and a small-scale experimental model. The experimental results suggest the active tension bolt to be an effective support system for pillar reinforcement.
This paper presents a methodology through which the time series of the dynamic response of mooring line tension can be predicted without relying on a time-consuming nonlinear time-domain analysis. The mooring line tension for the target short-term sea states was predicted using a Hammerstein-Wiener model, a popular system identification scheme, based upon the pre-calculated motion-tension time history data for some selected short-term sea states that do not overlap with the targeted ones. The obtained mooring line tension was further processed, and a fatigue damage comparison was made between the predicted and calculated values. The results showed that the predicted time series of the mooring line tension matched the calculated one fairly well. Thus, it is expected that the methodology may be employed to enhance the efficiency of mooring line tension analysis.

The track tension is closely related to the maneuverability of tracked vehicles and the durability of tracks and suspension systems. In order to minimize the excessive load on the tracks and to pre vent the peal-off of tracks from the road wheels, it is required to maintain the optimum track tension throughout the maneuver. However, the track tension cannot be easily measured due to the limitation in the sensor technology, harsh environment, etc. In this paper an indirect track tension monitoring system is developed based on idler assembly models, a geometric relation around the idler, and the tractive force estimated by using the Extended Kalman Filter. The performance of the tension monitoring system is verified with the results obtained from the Multi-Body Dynamics model.
