  • This study aims to investigate the statistical literacy of pre-service mathematics teachers and to discuss the impact of statistical literacy in lesson plan. For the purpose of this study, we analyzed 13 pre-service mathematics teachers' statistical literacy tests and lesson plans. The results of this analysis are as follows: First, pre-service mathematics teachers did not have a high level of statistical literacy, and it was also observed that there was a big level difference between them. Second, pre-service mathematics teachers' lesson plans showed significant difference in the level of the target grade, the characteristics of the target student, and the contents. Based on this study, we seek to find implications for how it is appropriate to educate teachers in charge of statistical education.

  • This study examined Korean pre-service science teachers' belief on science teaching and learning and its evolution over years in their teacher preparation programs. Juniors and seniors from two major universities, enrolled in college of education located in major cities in Korea, participated in this study. They completed BARSTL(Belief About Refrmed Science Teaching and Learning) which consisted of 32 Likert scale items. In order to investigate the evolution of their belief on science teaching and learning, the juniors responded to BARSTL again after 1 year. Results indicated that the pre-service science teachers had to some extent positive beliefs on science teaching and learning, but their beliefs were not much developed over a year.

  • A mathematics pre-service teacher T analyzed American mathematics textbooks and developed his teaching material for instruction. This study analyzed his thinking processes and results in the view of semiotics. If we regard the textbook as a sign and the unitary conversion that students should learn as an object of the sign, the interpretant of the sign is the pre-service teacher's analysis, which is conducted at the aspects of a subject matter knowledge and student understanding. T interpreted the textbook versatilely in terms of his knowledges and experiences. He developed his teaching materials as diagrams, did the diagrammatic thinking and became to have the hypostatic abstraction. This study is significant because it used semiotics for explaining T's thinking process.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and validate future teacher competencies diagnosis tools required for pre-service teachers. In this study, the hypothesis model was established by hierarchizing basic competency and job competency in three dimensions such as knowledge, practice, and personality as teachers' competencies required in future society. Based on this hypothesis model, 54 preliminary questions were developed, and competencies diagnosis test was conducted for 237 pre-service teachers in J area, Korea. The results of this study are as follows: First, as a result of this study, a total of 53 questions were extracted, including 18 questions with 6 factors in the knowledge dimension, 17 questions with 6 factors in the practice dimension, and 18 questions with 6 factors in the personality dimension. Second, the goodness-of-fit of future teacher competencies diagnosis model required was verified, and convergence and discriminant validity were verified. The results of this study were discussed. Finally, the implications and suggestions for further research were presented.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop science essay writing activities for developing elementary pre-service teacher's scientific thinking ability and scientific emotion and to analyze its effects. For the study, 60 first grade students attending teacher training institutes in the G region of Korea were selected. All 60 elementary pre-service teachers were students who selected a liberal arts lecture related to 'science inquiry'. As a result of the study, we confirmed that the preliminary teacher uses the scientific method of 'induction' in the article related to scientific thinking and the description related to the past time, agency, and purpose of the story is included in the essay related to scientific emotion. In addition, it was confirmed that elementary school teachers' writing ability was improved as the writing was repeated, and that the image of 'science' changed positively in many areas. This study suggests that a various and interesting scientific inquiry activities are needed to improve the science writing skills.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of enhancing teachers' pedagogical design capacity using ChatGPT. For this purpose, a survey was conducted to investigate preservice teachers' perceptions of ChatGPT, and lesson plans created using ChatGPT were analyzed from the perspectives of design elements, conversations with ChatGPT, and information transforming. The results showed that pre-service teachers have a rather passive attitude toward the use of ChatGPT, and that teacher moderation and ChatGPT characteristics affect pre-service teachers' perceptions of the use of ChatGPT. In addition, pre-service teachers mainly used ChatGPT for motivational activities and play activities, and there were significant differences in the level of utilization of ChatGPT among individuals, i.e., how they interacted with ChatGPT and how they transformed information. Based on these findings, we explored the possibility of using ChatGPT for teacher professional development and teacher education.

  • The purpose of this study was to elucidate elementary school teachers' pedagogical content knowledge regarding the subject of "weight and pressure in water". 6 elementary teachers in charge of the 6th grade were selected for this study. The 7 hour lessons were observed over $15{\sim}20$ days, and a variety of data including scenarios, questionnaires for teachers, interviews of teachers were analyzed. As a result of this study, teachers who had long career histories thought that the purpose of teaching science was to teach the use of science principles, and teachers who had only taught for a relatively short time thought the purpose was satisfying students' curiosity. Most of the teachers felt that the science content knowledge related to buoyancy was insufficient. They had acquired most of the science content knowledge from teaming experiences in middle and high schools. The pre-service teacher education programs didn't help them to satisfactorily acquire the science content knowledge under analysis here. Most of the teachers taught the science lessons according to the order of sequence as shown in the science textbook. They didn't teach the contents that they thought were needed if they were not already included in the science textbook. Only one teacher who had taken science courses in high school managed the science classes freely according to his own thoughts and opinions. From the results of this research, it could be concluded that most elementary school teachers did not have enough pedagogical content knowledge to teach their students effectively.

To summarize the performance of the study, it is as follows. Teacher training was conducted through music creation activities. The subjects of the study were 56 students(29 experimental group, 27 control group) in early childhood education of A University located at Gyeonggi, Korea. The music creation activities using the application were conducted on the 10th week and the experimental research was carried out. Analysis of the difference between the experimental and control groups in the pre-test and post-test, showed a statistically significant effect on belief in musical teaching efficacy of the control group. The results showed that the teachers' positive attitude toward the role of teacher in the teacher education program using the application was positively influenced. The results of this study by taking advantage of new educational media of applications in teacher education and to provide a basis for exploring concrete action plans for utilizing the application in the teacher training curriculum for future educational.

For the study, various literature researches were reviewed intensively about donation for education and teaching efficacy. The instrument for the study was the modified STEBI(Science Teaching Efficacy Beliefs Instrument) for technology education by 3 experts. This study was designed by single group pre and post test design (One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design) and was conducted by the pre-test and post-test. Check the reliability of the tool was conducted with Cronbach ${\alpha}$ coefficient analysis, pre-test 0.840, post-test 0.746. The analysis of data from the 5% significance level, paired sample t-test was performed using the SPSS 19.0 statistical tool. The results were as follows: 1. Teaching efficacy of pre-technology teachers who participated in the invention experience for educational donation technology has improved. 72. The qualitative study was performed by the interviews with students who participated in. Humanism was positively change and learning opportunity was provided to develop the competence of technology education teacher. Based upon the conclusion of this study, the donation activity for invention education need to use learning strategies for pre-technology teacher to improve teaching efficacy.
