Basic Study on the Assembly Process Design of Curtain-wall System for Minimization of Carbon Emission

  • With recent attempts to improve quality and productivity, the prefabrication manufacturing system has been occupying an increasing share of the construction area. To minimize site work, material is more frequently being produced and partially assembled at a plant, and then installed at a site. For this reason, the production process is being divided and the materials are being delivered to the site after passing through multiple plants. With these changes in the production process, the materials delivery plan is becoming an important management point. In particular, as road transportation using trucks has a 71 percent share of the domestic transportation market, selecting the proper transportation path is important when delivering materials and equipment to a site. But the management system at the project design phase to calculate the delivery cost by considering the production process of the pre-fab material and the $CO_2$ emission at the material delivery phase is currently lacking. This study suggests a process design model for assembly production of the pre-fab material and transportation logistics based on carbon emission. The suggested model can be helpful to optimize the location of the intermediate plant. It is expected to be utilized as a basic model at the project plan and design phase when subcontractors make decisions on items such as materials procurement, selecting the production method, and choosing the location of the assembly plant.

  • With the increase of tall building construction, efforts for enhancing constructability are required from the pre-construction stage. Therefore, in this study, we proposed an evaluation method of constructability performance by performing construction engineering activities at the design phase. Based on some results of previous studies, we estimated the importance of design factors and categories influencing the constructability in each engineering activity related to temporary work and then presented a method for evaluating the constructability performance of design alternatives.

시공책임형 CM 사업의 GMP 결정를 위한 시공이전단계 설계VE 프로세스 적용방안 도출 (A Study on the Application of Design VE Process in Pre-Construction Phase for GMP Determination of CM at Risk Project)

  • 정부의 건설산업 혁신방안 중 기술혁신을 위한 주요과제의 하나인 시공책임형 CM 사업의 제도화를 위해 2017년부터 현재까지 시범사업이 활발하게 이루어지고 있지만, 시공이전단계 사업관리의 핵심인 GMP를 결정하는데 핵심도구인 설계VE와 관련한 기준 및 프로세스는 아직 정립되지 않은 실정이다. 이에 시공책임형 CM과 설계VE 관련 연구 및 운영실태, 그리고 사업참여자 인식조사를 통해 기존 설계VE 프로세스에 대한 문제점을 도출하고, 시공책임형 CM 사업에 적합한 설계VE 프로세스를 제안하고자 하였다. Schedule, Cycle, Process 등 3가지 측면에서 적용안을 제안하였으며 심층면접조사(FGI)를 통해 적절성과 적용성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 이루어질 발주기준 정립 및 법제화에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • 최근 시행되는 건설공사에서는 설계 및 시공과정에 소요되는 공사정보들을 점차 가상현실기반의 3D모델로 활용하는 사례들이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 개념 설계 단계에서 활용 가능한 가상현실기반의 레이어 객체 시뮬레이션 기능 방법론을 구성한 후, 완성된 시스템으로 구축하여 활용성을 검증하고 있다. 레이어 객체 시뮬레이션 시스템은 사용자가 지정한 임의 공사 순서대로 구조물을 가상공간에서 사전 시공하여 실제 시공시의 문제점을 사전에 검토가 가능하도록 한다. 이러한 방법론은 3D객체 기반의 가상건설 시스템 구축시 주요 기능으로 적용되어 효율적 공사관리가 가능하게 할 수 있다.

A study on the Development of BIM-based Quality Pre-checking System in Architecture Design Phase

  • Recently, the mandate on utilizing BIM implemented by public institutions of many countries has great impact on the significantly increasing practices of BIM. The improvement of work efficiency and productivity, which is occurred by BIM adoption, depends on the consistency and accuracy of data. To maximize the benefit of BIM, the interests in BIM data quality have been enlarging all over the world. The BIM data quality pre-check, which is conducted by designer in the design phase, offers opportunities for quality improvement by continuously assessing BIM data. However, BIM quality pre-check is being conducted under arbitrary interpretation of users because of the absence of specific review factors and assessment methods for checking BIM quality. The purpose of this study is to establish an automated BIM quality pre-checking system to improve BIM design quality effectively and efficiently. It could be expected to meet the owner's requirements and to minimize the cost and time occurred additionally from revising and reproducing data by constructing consistency and accuracy of it.

사업기획단계에서의 현수교의 물량추정을 위한 모델연구 (Estimation Model for Approximate Construction Quantities of Suspension Bridge in Early Stage)

  • Bridge construction cost estimates have generally been conducted by using historial unit-price(per meter or square meter). The traditional estimating method based on unit-price references can never completely reflect the specialty of cable supported bridge. In this paper, we have developed the system for supporting the approximate construction cost and the quantity estimation based on 3D model information in the pre-project planning phase of 3-span continuous suspension bridge with 2-pylons. First of all, we'd analyzed the design information (such as structural design report, blueprint and quantity) and the real cost data from the existing suspension bridges and derived the design variables of the bridges. We developed the BIM wizard that generates a suspension bridge model parametrically based on derived design variables. The principle material quantities of suspension bridge are calculated directly from 3-dimensional bridge model built by using the BIM wizard. We have established the system that the construction cost can be estimated more specific than the traditional estimating method.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR IT IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY OF IRAN

  • The last twenty-five years have seen dramatic improvements in and widespread use of IT to describe and document the work of the many disciplines involved in construction projects. Iran is a developing country and construction is a basic factor of developing too. Hence, the country needs to a special programming for construction of buildings, structures and infrastructures. Many parts of Iran are located in highly seismic zones and structures must be constructed safe e.g., according to recent seismic codes. In this paper opportunities of IT in construction industry of Iran are investigated in three categories. Pre-construction phase, construction phase and earthquake disaster mitigation are studied. Studies show that information technology can be used in these items for reducing the losses and increasing the benefits. Both government and private sectors must contribute to this strategic project for obtaining the best result.

Exploratory Study on the Process and Checklist Items for Construction Safety Inspection Utilizing Drones

  • The focus of this research was to devise a conceptual methodology for drone usage and to assess the viability of safety checklist items specific to drone application in safety oversight. The appraisal was grounded in a focus group interview involving professionals from construction management and safety fields. The proposed process was segmented into four stages: 1) pre-flight phase for flight plan development, 2) drone flight phase for safety condition inspection utilizing checklist items, 3) post-flight phase for visual asset analysis, and 4) documentation and management phase. Furthermore, the research scrutinized the applicability of 32 distinct safety checklist items for drone operations. The primary aim of this investigation was to probe the possible deployment of drones as part of construction safety inspections at work sites. However, it bears mentioning that subsequent research should strive to gather a more extensive sample size through questionnaire surveys, thereby facilitating quantitative analysis. Administering such surveys would yield more comprehensive data compared to a focus group interview, which was constrained by a limited participant count. In summation, this study lays a foundational groundwork for understanding the potential advantages and challenges associated with integrating drones into construction safety management.

BIM 기반 사장교의 개념설계 및 예가분석 시스템 개발 (BIM System Development for Conceptual Design and Pre-Feasibility Study of Cable-Stayed Bridge)

  • 본 연구는 2주탑 3경간 사장교의 사업기획 단계에서 3차원 모델정보에 기반하여 신속한 개략 공사비 및 물량 산정을 지원하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 우선, 기 설계된 사장교 설계정보(구조계산서, 도면, 수량)를 분석하여 설계변수를 도출하였다. 도출된 설계변수를 기반으로 매개변수적으로 사장교를 3차원 모델링하는 BIM Wizard를 개발하였다. BIM Wizard를 이용해 작성된 3차원 모델로부터 사장교의 주요 재료에 대한 수량을 직접 산출하며, 케이블 교량에 대한 단가 D/B와 산출된 수량을 연계하여 개략공사비를 산정할 수 있다. 결과적으로, 사업 초기단계에서 m당 혹은 $m^2$당 실적 평균공사비를 산출하는 재래적인 방식보다 더 구체화된 공사비를 산출할 수 있는 시스템을 구축하였다. 이로써, 우리는 사장교에 대해 입찰단계에서 가능한 신속하게 다양한 대안을 검토할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 국내 건설시장 개방과 건설경기 침체에 따른 과당경쟁, 급속한 정보기술의 발달과 시시각각 변화하는 동태적인 사회 환경 등이 건설 환경을 급속하게 변화시키고 있으며, 이에 따라 건설사업에서의 리스크 또한 현저하게 증가하고 있다. 또한, 이러한 리스크를 다루는 리스크 관리가 사업의 성패와 부가가치 결정에 커다란 영향을 주고 있어 건설사업에서의 리스크 관리가 철실히 필요한 시점이다. 본 연구에서는 국내개발사업 사전기획단계에서의 제한된 정보를 이용하여 효과적으로 리스크를 관리 할 수 있도록 주요 리스크 인자 식별 및 분류를 통해 통계적 기법으로 중요도를 분석하고, 기획단계별 주요 리스크 인자를 분류하여 기존의 경험에 의존한 직관적이고 주관적인 리스크 관리를 보다 객관적으로 수행할 수 있도록 하는 기초를 마련하였다.
