  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify factors related to hand washing practice among adolescents before and after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The study was conducted using data from the 15th~16th (2019~2020) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey, and the subjects of the study were 57,303 and 54,948 people who participated in the 2019 and 2020 study, respectively. The data were analyzed with frequency test, rao-scott 𝑥2 test and multiple logistic regression analysis using SPSS 27.0. Results: Changes in the hand washing practice rate were observed before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in all five behaviors; before eating in school, after using the toilet in school, before eating at home, after using the toilet at home, and after returning home. The study found that the hand washing practice rate increased by 1.21-2.43 times after the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, as a result of logistic regression analysis, the hand washing practice rate before and after the COVID-19 pandemic was related to gender, region, school grade, school type, economic status, health status, and personal hygiene education experience. Conclusion: This study confirmed the importance of hand washing education to improve the hand washing practice rate in adolescents. It is necessary to develop and apply an effective youth hand washing education program in consideration of various variables that appeared as significant factors influencing the hand washing practice rate before and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to generate a grounded substantive theory for the practice adaptation process of hemodialysis unit nurses. Methods: Participants in this study were 10 nurses working in one of two hemodialysis units. Data were collected through tape recorded in-depth interviews done between December, 2011 and February, 2012. Data were analyzed using grounded theory methodology. Results: From the participants' statements, 43 concepts, 18 subcategories and 10 categories were extracted through the open cording process. The 10 categories were: "Burden", "Role conflict", "Fearful", "Conflict of emotion", "Lack systematic job training", "Lack support system", "Compassion", "Rapport created", "Sense of duty", and "Growth". The core category was discovered to be 'recognized growth'. Phenomenon was identified as 'burnout' and this series of processes was categorized as having three stages: 'conflict', 'acceptance', 'growth'. Conclusion: The results of this study provide useful information about the needs of Hemodialysis Unit Nurses during the practice adaptation process based on their stages and types of practice adaptation. Finally, this study contributes data for the development of intervention programs that support the Hemodialysis Unit Nurses' practice adaptation.

Methods: This is the descriptive research to verify the effectiveness of simulation-based practice education for core skill of maternity nursing. Third year nursing students who have completed maternity nursing related theories and practice have been selected as population. Total of 202 surveys have been used for analysis. Data analysis is done by using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Self-confidence of core skill in maternity nursing is experimental group 4.52 and control group 4.37 score (p<.05). Performance competence in childbirth care is experimental group 4.53 and control group 4.35 score (p<.05). The students who have maternity nursing related clinical practice and core skill practicum experience show high core skill evaluation score. Conclusion: Therefore, it is recommended that current maternity nursing core skill curriculum should be reviewed and improved, and the students should be provided variety of simulation techniques to gain essential knowledge and core nursing skills.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of simulation practice combining problem-based learning on nursing knowledge, self-confidence, critical thinking tendency and problem solving ability. The subjects of this study were 45 students who took two courses of nursing situation practice in the fourth grade of S university in S area. Data were collected before and after the simulation exercise using the self-report questionnaire. The problem-based learning and the simulation practice convergence training were conducted for three weeks with two hours per week, and the post- integration nursing knowledge, self-confidence, critical thinking disposition, and problem solving ability scores were improved. Nursing knowledge, self-confidence, and critical thinking tendency were positively correlated with problem solving ability and proved the effectiveness of problem-based learning and simulation training. Therefore, education programs combining problem-based learning and simulation training on various topics should be developed and utilized.

  • Purpose: Researchers found that blocks of evidence-based practice (EBP) implementation lacked opportunities for EBP education. The study found that physical therapists had negative views of research as well as their roles in EBP, lacked confidence in EBP, and had limited access to web-based materials. The purpose of this study was to highlight the importance of information research technology for efficient EBP in a clinical environment. Methods: The web-based information research technologies that should be used for sustainable EBP include: the clinical practice guideline (CPG) and PubMed's My NCBI service. Journal mailing services and other academic information sources should also be used to gather information from RSS feeds. An EBP library or archive must be created. A site that provides EBP-specific information is also needed. Results: We should usually do EBP. Practitioners must learn and use information technologies that will help them improve their EBP skills. Conclusion: Facilitating EBP implementation and building an EBP system require related education as well as a practical work environment and equipment. However, the highest priority is individual efforts and trial. Information technology will complement the lack of time. It is important to use information research technology to overcome real obstacles. Lasting EBP must use a number of web-based information research technologies to overcome the practical challenges encountered in EBP implementation.

Method: This study was a one group posttest only design that examined the competency in basic nursing skills after traditional education and open laboratory self-directed practice. Students participated in traditional education and open laboratory practice through self-study. Whenever practice was done, the item of practice and time were measured and documented. Collected data were analyzed by frequency, percentages, averages and standard deviations, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Result: 1 The average number of students who participated in the open lab self-directed practice was 53.9 (64.2%) and the total number of hours of participation was 1567.5 minutes per year. Each student participated for an average of 29.1 minutes per year. 2. Analysis showed a statistically positive correlation between practical skill and open laboratory self-study (r=0.252, p=0.048).

  • Nursing majors are a combination of theoretical and practical education, and since the advisor cannot participate in all practices in clinical practice, the efficiency and effectiveness of practical education are limited in judging the results according to students' reactions. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the domestic literature on the efficiency of clinical practice of nursing college students. The analysis target was selected through PRISMA flow, and the results were derived through categorization and questioning based on content analysis. Looking at the results, research related to the adaptation of trainees was mainstream, and specifically, research related to the characteristics, conflicts, clinical practice environment, and interpersonal anguish of trainees was conducted. In addition, it was confirmed that active and systematic intervention of practical guidance professors was required, such as possible safety accidents, emotional labor problems, and dilemmas during the practice period. Through this study, it is suggested that a systematic framework for nursing and clinical practice should be prepared.
