Educational Utilization of Microsoft Powerpoint for Oral and Maxillofacial Cancer Presentations

  • Electronic presentations have become useful tools for surgeons, other clinicians and patients, facilitating medical and legal support and scientific research. Microsoft(R) PowerPoint is by far and away the most commonly used computer-based presentation package. Setting up surgical clinical cases with PowerPoint makes it easy to register and follow patients for the purpose of discussion of treatment plan or scientific presentations. It facilitates communication between professionals, supervising clinical cases and teaching. It is ofter useful to create a template to standardize the presentation, offered by the software through the slide master. The purpose of this paper was to show a simple and practical method for creating a Microsoft(R) PowerPoint template for use in presentations comcerning oral and maxillofacial cancer.

음식모형을 활용한 어린이 식생활 교육 매체 개발 (Development of Food Replicas as Dietary Education Materials for Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop children-friendly education materials based on food replicas for the dietary education of lower grade elementary students. Through a literature review on current dietary problems and dietary education for children, five education themes were chosen: balanced diet, seasonal food, traditional food, noodle culture, and making instant noodles. A total of 304 key food items for food replicas were selected based on the themes: six basic food groups (113 items), balanced meals (37 items), dietary habits (74 items), spring foods (13 items), summer foods (17 items), autumn foods (16 items), winter foods (11 items), Korean traditional foods (52 items), Korean native noodles (18 items), noodles from foreign countries (19 items), and making instant noodles (46 items). Next, a food replica database was developed consisting of name of the food, picture, size, ingredient, recipe, reference, and attached code. Powerpoint slides and teaching plans for all education themes were developed utilizing the food replicas in order to raise interest and understanding of serving size and intake amount. This research provides a basis for the development of food replicas as effective dietary education materials for elementary students and their use in extra-curricular activities, after school programs, community health centers, or food companies.

  • 유네스코를 중심으로 국내외적으로 지속가능발전교육(ESD)에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 개발도상국으로의 IT 설비지원 및 SW교육기부 등이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 멀티마우스 Mischief는 간단한 파워포인트 교수학습 저작물을 통해 교사용 컴퓨터로 다수의 아이들이 능동적 수업활동을 할 수 있다. 현재 멀티마우스 포인터는 그림과 글자(이름)로 교수학습활동의 식별기능만을 제공하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 마이크로 소프트에서 개발된 멀티마우스의 포인터에 대하여 아이들의 흥미유발과 능동적 참여에 효과적인 포인터 설계전략 알아보기 위하여 포인터 모양(얼굴사진), 크기, 속도의 변인에 대해서 콘텐츠를 개발 적용하여 보았다.

The influence of learning style in understanding analogies and 2D animations in embryology course

  • Undergraduate students struggle to comprehend embryology because of its dynamic nature. Studies have recommended using a combination of teaching methods to match the student's learning style. But there has been no study to describe the effect of such teaching strategy over the different types of learners. In the present study, an attempt has been made to teach embryology using the combination of analogies and simple 2D animations made with Microsoft powerpoint software. The objective of the study is to estimate the difference in academic improvement and perception scale between the different types of learners after introducing analogies and 2D animation in a lecture environment. Based on Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic (VARK) scoring system the learners were grouped into unimodal and multimodal learners. There was significant improvement in post-test score among the unimodal (P<0.001) and multimodal learners (P<0.001). When the post-test score was compared between the two groups, the multimodal learners performed better the unimodal learners (P=0.018). But there was no difference in the perception of animations and analogies and long-term assessment between the groups. The multimodal learners performed better than unimodal learners in short term recollection, but in long term retention of knowledge the varied learning style didn't influence its outcome.

Simulation Training for Inactive Nurses with 360 VR content

  • This study evaluated the effect of simulation training on cardiac arrest in hospitals for inactive nurses with 360 VR content, and attempted to prepare basic data for simulation training for inactiv nurses in the future. The design of this study is an experiment study before and after a single group. The study period was from October 13, 2020 to December 17, 2020. The subjects of the study were a total of 21 nurses who participated in the education program for inactive nurses. For simulation training for inactive nurses, Microsoft Powerpoint, hybrid simulation, high-fidelity simulation, and 360 VR content were applied for theories education and practical education. As a result of the study, the satisfaction level of the curriculum for the cardiac arrest situation in the hospital for inactive nurses was 4.78±0.36 points out of 5 points. Understanding of education was 4.71±0.46 points out of 5 points. Usefulness of education was 4.80±0.40 points out of 5 points. Confidence in airway maintenance before and after training, BLS review, manual defibrillator, emergency medication administration, airway maintenance, emergency situation simulation, and debriefing were all significant. According to the results of this study, simulation training of the situation of cardiac arrest in the hospitals for inactive nurses was effective. In future studies, it will be necessary to develope and verify specific teaching and learning methods by applying various cases of cardiac arrest situations in consideration of the type of hospitals.

메타인지 수준에 따른 EPL 프로그래밍 학습이 논리적 사고에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of EPL Programming Loaming on Logical Thinking Ability by the Meta-Cognition Level)

  • 프로그래밍 언어 학습이 논리적 사고력에 미치는 영향에 대한 선행 연구는 부족한 실정이며, 각 연구 결과마다 연구 대상, 방법과 학습 주제 등에 따라 논리 향상 정도와 영역이 다르므로, 일반화 과정에 어려움이 있다. 또한 논리적 사고력의 향상이 학습자의 인지 발달에 의한 것인지 프로그래밍 언어 학습에 의한 것인지 분명하지 않아 프로그래밍 언어 학습의 필요성이 증명되었다고 할 수 없다. 본 연구에서는 초등 6학년생들에게 교육용 프로그래밍 언어 학습을 7차시 동안 실시한 후, 메타인지 수준별로 논리적 사고력에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 컴퓨터 활용 교육의 효과와 비교하였다. 실험 결과에 따르면, 두리틀과 로고, 그리고 파워포인트 학습 집단 모두에서, 상위 수준의 메타인지를 지닌 학생들은 논리적 사고력에 유의미한 신장 효과를 나타낸 반면, 하위 수준의 학생들은 두리틀과 로고 학습 후에만 유의미한 논리적 사고력의 신장을 나타냈다. 그러나 메타인지 수준에 상관 없이 세 학습 집단 간에 논리적 사고력 향상 정도의 유의미한 차이는 없었다.

  • PDF(Portable Document Format) is a file format that Adobe advances postscritp technique and use in managing document information or electric publishing(internet, CD-ROM, DVD). PDF is a devised document type for being able to read and print anywhere, independent of OS, printer type, resolution, and the kind of computer etc. Because this includes a compressing function, it transfers document through a small size of file in internet or intranet. In addition, that is a file format has various advantages-sharing of information and transfering documents in on line or off line environment. In this paper, we developed electronic document system using PDF format. Electronic document system consists of filter, automatic indexing, special searching system and web server. The information used in this paper is database made using Zwon\`s DocuCom. The filter recognizes various kinds of document structure. And according to property of document, it produces ASCII output. In addition to processing various formats of document, the filter can extract keywords in documents of MS WORD, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, CAD etc. This filter uses the structure of window printer drive and can extract the information for text, page, font type and size from relevant document. The automatic indexing recognizes the formatted tag of document form ASCII text produced by filter and extracts adequate keyword to structure and property of document. PDF electronic document systems proposed in this paper can be used in Internet, PC communication. Users can choose and read electronic documents by two ways. First, users can choose and read relevant books using PDF electronic document homepage. Second, users can use PDF integrated-search system. User can search after inputing keyword and choose reference field and type of data. But, now, PDF products of Adobe can\`t support the Korean character. If this problem is resolved, we thick that PDF applications system looks active. Although there is limited function in case of using Zwon DocuCom used in this study, we think that there isn\`t a great deal of difficulty in electronic document and building digital database.

멀티미디어 교육자료가 학습효과에 미친 영향에 관한 연구 - "농업기초기술" 교과의 에듀넷 멀티미디어 교육자료를 중심으로 - (A Study on Analyzing the Learning Effectiveness of Multi-media -Focusing on Basic Agricultural Technology Course in High School-)

  • This study tried to analyze the learning effectiveness of multi-media based class by comparing with traditional classroom method. The "Basic Agricultural Technology" course that is one of the required courses of agricultural high school was selected and its contents were digitalized on MS Powerpoint for multi-media based class. The thirty students were sampled for each experimental and control groups. The homogeneity and learning achievement of sample groups were tested for experiment. Same teacher took the classes of two groups and delivered same contents of course. Only difference between two groups was the delivery method, one is traditional classroom teaching method and the other was the multi-media based class. The learning achievements and satisfaction of sample were post-tested in order to analyze the learning effectiveness by comparing two teaching methods. The results showed that there was a significant difference between experimental and control group in learning achievement after ANCOVA controlled pre-test as covariance(F=5.08, p<.05). It means that the learning achievement of multi-media based class was higher than that of traditional classroom group. The results also showed that a significant difference in students’ satisfaction between two groups (t=5.57, p<.001). This study concluded that using multi-media in class could produce more learning achievements and satisfaction of students than traditional classroom method.

효율적인 영상처리 교육을 위한 통합 환경 개발에 관한 연구 (The development of CAI systems for an efficient education of image processing)

  • 멀티미디어 기술의 광범위한 보급으로 여러 분야에서 영상처리 기술 인력에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있으나, 실무능력을 가진 전문 인력의 수는 시장의 요구에 비해 매우 적다. 영상처리 분야에 실무능력을 갖춘 전문 인력을 양성하기 위해서는 이론 교육과정과 함께 학습한 이론을 실제 영상자료에 적용하고 적용된 결과를 분석해 볼 수 있는 실습과정을 체계적으로 지원할 수 있는 통합된 교육 환경이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 영상처리 교육이 이루어지도록 이론적인 내용과 이론에 따른 다양한 해법을 직접 체험해 볼 수 있고 학습과정에서 얻어진 새로운 아이디어를 쉽게 구현해 볼 수 있는 통합 환경인 MTES(Multimedia Technology Education System)를 제안한다. MTES는 영상처리 개발 환경인 Hello-Vision을 시뮬레이션 환경으로 사용할 수 있도록 수정하였으며, 이론교육환경과 이론과 실습이 체계적으로 이루어지도록 제어하는 제어관리자를 개발하여 효과적인 영상처리 교육 환경이 되도록 개발하였다.

  • 유용한 영어 교육을 위한 어플은 강의실 컴퓨터를 위해 모바일 장치를 무선 원격 시스템으로 즉각적인 변환을 가능하게 한다. 일단 강의실 주 컴퓨터에 무료 소프트웨어를 설치하면 학생들이 power point를 이용하여 컴퓨터 통제를 위한 모바일 장치에 Air mouse를 갖도록 한다. 이를 이용하여 학생들은 board위에 글이나 그림을 그릴수 있으며 그들의 앉은 자리에서 학습 자료를 구동할 수 있게 된다. 영어공부는 학문연구가 아니라 언어 훈련이라는 점에서 지금까지의 영어 학습이 단순한 학습대상으로 먼저 인식하여 의사소통의 도구가 아닌 학교 성적이나 토익, 토플 시험을 위한 학습 대상이 되었다는 점에서 그동안 영어의 학습의 문제점으로 지적되어 왔다. 본 연구는 수동적인 학습 환경에서 흥미와 동기부여를 가지고 자발적인 학습을 위해 Podcast, Apps 등 여러 매체를 이용하여 일정 학습 한도를 정하여 꾸준히 학습 할 수 있는 쉽고 재미있는 영어 학습 중 모바일, VOD영어 학습 컨텐츠, 리얼 영화 스크립트를 이용한 미드 영어 등 여러 어플을 이용한 영어 학습방법을 제시하고자 한다.
