A New Approach to Improve Induction Motor Performance in Light-Load Conditions

  • Induction motors often reach their maximum efficiency at the nominal load. In most applications, the machine load is not equal to the nominal load, thus reduces the motor efficiency and turns a greater percent of power into loss. In this paper, the induction motor control problem has been investigated to reduce the system losses. The Field Oriented Control method (FOC) has been employed in this paper. In this research, the mathematical equations related to system losses are calculated in relation to torque and speed, and then the q- and d-axis are summarized according to the current components. After that, the proposed method is applied along with d- and q-axis. In the recent three decades, many techniques have been suggested to improve the induction motor performance using smart and non-smart methods. In this paper, a new PSO-Fuzzy method have used in real time. The fuzzy logic method serves as speed controller in q-axis and PSO algorithm controls the optimum flux in d-axis. It will be proved that the use of this combined method will lead to a significant improvement in motor efficiency.

  • In this paper, the development and the test of 13.2kV/630A high-Tc superconducting fault current limiting coil are described. The fault current limiting coil made of Coated Conductor (CC) was fabricated with bifilar winding method for non-inductive characteristics and tested in the distribution power system level in Dec. 2006. In order to determine the length of the superconducting coil, applied voltage per unit length(V/m) was studied analytically and it was verified through experiments. For the volume minimization, the coil was designed with concentrical arrangement method. The short-circuit test was performed with the prospective fault current of asymmetrical 10kA whose maximum fault current was $30kA_{peak}$. In the test, the voltage drop and the current of the coil were measured and the resistance of the coil was obtained. Also, the temperature rise of the coil was calculated with the relationship between the resistance and the temperature of CC. In this paper, the experimental results are analyzed and compared with the simulation.

  • This paper proposes a fuzzy dual method for analyzing long-term transmission system expansion planning problem considering ambiguities of the power system using fuzzy lineal programming. Transmission expansion planning problem can be formulated integer programming or linear programming with minimization total cost subject to reliability (load balance). A long-term expansion planning problem of a grid is very complex, which have uncertainties fur budget, reliability criteria and construction time. Too much computation time is asked for actual system. Fuzzy set theory can be used efficiently in order to consider ambiguity of the investment budget (economics) for constructing the new transmission lines and the delivery marginal rate (reliability criteria) of the system in this paper. This paper presents formulation of fuzzy dual method as first step for developing a fuzzy Ford-Fulkerson algorithm in future and demonstrates sample study. In application study, firstly, a case study using fuzzy integer programming with branch and bound method is presented for practical system. Secondly, the other case study with crisp Ford Fulkerson is presented.

  • 양자 셀룰라 오토마타(QCA)는 CMOS의 기술을 상속받을 차세대 나노 전자 소자 중 하나이다. QCA는 원자규모 및 초저전력화로 이목이 집중되고 있으며 다양한 QCA 회로들이 제안되었다. 십진 출력을 요하는 전자회로와 마이크로프로세서에서 주로 사용되는 이진화 십진법(BCD)은 연산을 위한 변환은 편하지만 데이터 낭비가 심하다. 본 논문에서는 QCA 회로에서 감산 및 반올림에 효과적으로 이용될 수 있는 BCD-3초과 코드를 제안한다. 제안된 구조는 잡음을 최소화하고 공간 및 시간 복잡도를 고려하여 효율적으로 설계되었으며 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다.

Limit speeds and stresses in power law functionally graded rotating disks

  • Limit elastic speed analysis of Al/SiC-based functionally graded annular disk of uniform thickness has been carried out for two cases, namely: metal-rich and ceramic rich. In the present study, the unknown field variable for radial displacement is solved using variational method wherein the solution was obtained by Galerkin's error minimization principle. One of the objectives was to identify the variation of induced stress in a functionally graded disk of uniform thickness at limit elastic speed using modified rule of mixture by comparing the induced von-Mises stress with the yield stress along the disk radius, thereby locating the yield initiation. Furthermore, limit elastic speed has been reported for a combination of varying grading index (n) and aspect ratios (a/b).Results indicate, limit elastic speed increases with an increase in grading indices. In case of an increase in aspect ratio, limit elastic speed increases up to a critical value beyond which it recedes. Also, the objective was to look at the variation of yield stress corresponding to volume fraction variation within the disk which later helps in material tailoring. The study reveals the qualitative variation of yield stress for FG disk with volume fraction, resulting in the possibility of material tailoring from the processing standpoint, in practice.

주행 안전을 위한 자전거 기어의 프레스금형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Mold System of Bicycles Gear for Driving Safety)

  • Recently, bicycle has means of effective healthy transportation, and riding the bicycles is considered as popular recreational and sporting activities. Also, the saddle, steering system, driving device and braking device are researched briskly because of consumer's need for driving performance and comfort. Especially, the importance of a cassette responsible for transmission function by transmitting power to the drive shaft through the chain is very focused. The writer conducted structural analysis for the sprocket of each level using the ANSYS widely used for the analysis. Speed shifting performance was enhanced by minimization / simplification of shifting point through a sort of tooth profile of the cassette. By partitioning a clear value type and other shifting point, it has been modified to enable smooth speed-shifting. In addition, as titanium precision forming process, this study studied the molding technique by blanking and dies forging for mass production of the cassette. so it could be expected that the entire drive train would utilize that in the future. The stamping process capability for thin materials for the mass production of the sprockets is applicable to producing automobile parts, so lightweight component production is likely to be possible through that, for the safety of driving.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to analyze big data related to DURIBAL from the operation of taxis reserved for the disabled to identify the issues and suggest solutions. ESG management should be translated into "environmental factors, social responsibilities, and transparent management." Therefore, the current study used Big Data analysis to analyze the factors affecting the standby of taxis reserved for the disabled and relevant problems for implications on convenience of social weak. Design/methodology/approach The analysis method used R, Excel, Power BI, QGIS, and SPSS. We proposed several suggestions included problems with managing cancellation data, minimization of dark data, needs to develop an integrated database for scattered data, and system upgrades for additional analysis. Findings The results showed that the total duration of standby was 34 minutes 29 seconds. The reasons for cancellation data were mostly use of other modes of transportation or delayed arrival. The study suggests development of an integrated database for scattered data. Finally, follow-up studies may discuss government-initiated big data analysis to comparatively analyze the use of taxis reserved for the disabled nationwide for new social value.

16-QAM 신호에서 Slice 가중치에 의한 S-MMA 적응 등화 알고리즘의 성능 비교 (Performance Comparison of S-MMA Adaptive Equalization Algorithm by Slice Weighting Value in 16-QAM Signal)

  • 본 논문에서는 통신 채널에서 발생되는 찌그러짐과 잡음의 영향을 최소화하기 위하여 사용되는 S-MMA 적응 등화 알고리즘에서 Slice 가중치에 따른 성능을 비교하였다. 기존의 MMA 알고리즘에서는 등화기의 출력 신호와 송신 신호의 dispersion 상수만을 이용하지만, S-MMA에서는 등화기 출력 신호와 dispersion 상수외에 결정 장치의 출력 신호를 slice 상수만큼 고려하여 채널의 진폭과 위상 찌그러짐을 동시에 보상할 수 있다. 이때 slice 가중치가 적응 등화 알고리즘의 성능에 미치는 영향을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하며, 성능 지수로는 등화기 출력 신호 성상도, 수렴 특성을 나타내는 잔류 isi, 최대 찌그러짐, MSE와 채널의 신호대 잡음비에 따른 SER을 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 slice 가중치가 적으면 잔류isi, 최대 찌그러짐과 MSE 성능이 우월하며, 가중치가 큰 경우 SER 성능이 우월함을 확인하였다.

전이중 릴레이 시스템에서 오수신 확률을 최소화 시키는 전송 기법 (Outage Optimal Transmission Strategy for Full-Duplex Relay System)

  • 본 논문에서는 전이중 전송 방식을 사용하는 릴레이 전송 시스템의 오수신 확률을 최소화하는 전송 기법을 제안한다. 릴레이국이 전이중 전송 방식으로 동작하면, 단말국이 기지국과 릴레이국으로 받는 신호를 동시에 수신하게 되고, 두 송신국으로부터의 신호는 서로에게 간섭으로 작용하여 성능을 열화시킨다. 이로 인해 시스템의 오수신 확률이 높아지는데, 본 논문에서는 기지국이 레이어드 브로드캐스팅 기법을 적용하여 정보를 송신하고, 이 때 간섭의 양을 고려하여 전송 파워를 최적으로 할당함으로써 시스템의 오수신 확률을 낮추었다. 이를 위해 제안하는 기법의 용량 및 오수신 확률을 수식적으로 유도하였고, 오수신 확률을 최소화 시키는 파워 할당 비율을 제시하였다. 제안된 전이중 전송 방식 및 파워 할당 알고리즘은 추가적인 자원 할당으로 자원의 비효율성을 발생 시키는 반이중 전송 방식의 릴레이 전송 방식에 대한 좋은 해법을 제공할 수 있다.

W-CDMA에서 3차원 적응 배열 안테나를 이용한 방해 신호의 도래각 추정 성능에 관한 연구 (A study on the DoA Estimation Prformance of Interference Signal in W-CDMA using 3D Adaptive Array Antenna)

  • 본 논문은 W-CDMA 신호를 대상으로 3차원 적응 배열 안테나를 이용한 도래각 추정의 성능에 관한 것이다. 이를 위하여 5 가지의 3 차원 배열 안테나를 제시한 후 이들 안테나에 도래각 추정을 위한 알고리즘으로는 MUSIC을 공통으로 적용하였고, 이의 추정 성능을 위해서는 도래각 추정 오차를 이용하였다. 이동 통신과 무선 측위 서비스에서는 배열 안테나를 사용하여 방해 신호의 도래각을 추정한 후 공간 필터링하므로서 원하지 않는 방향으로부터의 방해 신호를 최소화 또는 널링시키고, 원하는 방향으로의 빔을 형성하므로서 수신 신호의 품질을 개선할 수 있다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 안테나별 도래각 추정 결과와 신호대 잡음비와 방해 신호의 수와 전력에따른 도래각 추정 오차를 계산하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 도래각 추정의 경우 Stack 3D 형을 제외한 나머지 3D 안테나가, 도래각 추정 오차의 경우 방해 신호의 수와 전력이 증가할때 Curved-B 형 안테나가 가장 우수함을 알 수 있었다.
