This paper presents the real channel measurements and investigates their statistical characterization in wireless body area network(WBAN). In on-/off body channel, the measurements are performed with some representative human movements for considering human movements. Moreover, three signal transmission schemes with outage constraint are studied for getting total power consumption in each transmission scheme. Using the real channel measurements, between theoretical and realistic simulation are compared. This paper shows that power efficiency is improved through cooperative communication, and how much position of sensor node and human movement affect signal transmission power.

The heating produced by the absorption of radiofrequency (RF) has been considered a secondary undesirable effect during MRI procedures. In this work, we have measured the power absorbed by distilled water, glycerol and egg-albumin during NMR and non-NMR experiments. The samples are dielectric and examples of different biological materials. The samples were irradiated using the same RF pulse sequence, whilst the magnetic field strength was the variable to be changed in the experiments. The measurements show a smooth increase of the thermal power as the magnetic field grows due to the magnetoresistive effect in the copper antenna, a coil around the probe, which is directly heating the sample. However, in the cases when the magnetic field was the adequate for the NMR to take place, some anomalies in the expected thermal powers were observed: the thermal power was higher in the cases of water and glycerol, and lower in the case of albumin. An ANOVA test demonstrated that the observed differences between the measured power and the expected power are significant.
Invertigation electromagnetic emissione of inverter power sources resistance welding existing special aspects of EMI measurements in the field of resistance welding machines resulting from the power rating and operation mode of these machines have to be taken into account. The characteristics of the internal switching processes determined by the behavior of the applied power semiconductors, sunbber circuits and constructional aspect exert a great influence on the conducted emission welding inverters.
A new method of X-ray source spectrum estimation based on compressed sensing is proposed in this paper. The algorithm K-SVD is applied for sparse representation. Nonnegative constraints are added by modifying the L1 reconstruction algorithm proposed by Rosset and Zhu. The estimation method is demonstrated on simulated spectra typical of mammography and CT. X-ray spectra are simulated with the Monte Carlo code Geant4. The proposed method is successfully applied to highly ill conditioned and under determined estimation problems with a good performance of suppressing noises. Results with acceptable accuracies (MSE < 5%) can be obtained with 10% Gaussian white noises added to the simulated experimental data. The biggest difference between the proposed method and the existing methods is that multiple prior knowledge of X-ray spectra can be included in one dictionary, which is meaningful for obtaining the true X-ray spectrum from the measurements.
This paper describes the initial characteristics of turbine generators at the Taean thermal power plant #4 and Wolsong nuclear power plant #2. The turbine generators had been in service for two years. The insulation diagnostic tests included measurements of insulation resistance, polarization index, ac current, dissipation factor($tan{\delta}$) and partial discharges (PD). The values of ac current and tan a were measured by Schering bridge. PD measurements were conducted using digital PD detector. The variation of $tan{\delta}$ and PD was confirmed in two generator stator insulations.

To evaluate the condition of stator winding insulation in generators that have been operated for a long period of time, diagnostic tests were performed on the stator bars of a 500 MW, 22 kV generator under accelerated thermal and electrical aging procedures. The tests included measurements of AC current (${\Delta}I$), dissipation factor ($tan{\delta}$), partial discharge (PD) magnitude, and capacitance (C). In addition, the AC current test was performed on the stator winding of a 350 MW, 24 kV generator under operation to confirm insulation deterioration. The values of ${\Delta}I$, ${\Delta}tan{\delta}$, and PD magnitude in one stator bar indicated serious insulation deterioration. In another stator bar, the ${\Delta}I$ measurements showed that the insulation was in good condition, whereas the values of ${\Delta}tan{\delta}$ and PD magnitude indicated an incipient stage of insulation deterioration. Measurements of ${\Delta}I$ and PD magnitude in all three phases (A, B, C) of the remaining generator stator windings showed that they were in good condition, although the ${\Delta}tan{\delta}$ measurements suggested that the condition of the insulation should be monitored carefully. Overall analysis of the results suggested that the generator stator windings were in good condition. The patterns of PD magnitude in all three phases (A, B, C) were attributed to internal discharge.
This paper refers to fundamental investigations and simulations of conducted electromagnetic inference emissions produced by power electronic devices in a frequency range from 2 to 10 kHz. The emissions of different industrial power converters were measured and compared. The influence of different working conditions over the altitude of the EMI are represented. Simulations of the power converter system including the line impedance stabilisation network certify the measurements.
LDV measurements were conducted on the planes between impeller blades of torque converter. The flow fields are extremely complex because they contain unsteady viscous three-dimensional flows. Besides of their complexity, the difference in rotor speeds between the impeller and turbine compound the flow effects. The good spatial resolution of the LDV allows measurements of the instantaneous flow structures within the impeller passage, yielding valuable information about the production automotive torque converter in realistic operating conditions. It was found that the mass flow rates are strongly related with the internal flow characteristics of torque converter.
This study is used to analyze the distribution of resistance factors and the relationships of flow resistance with the field measurements which consist of the total 2,604 rivers for 1,865 bed material in natural channels and 739 vegetation in vegetated channels. Resistance factor relationships and distribution range of Manning roughness coefficients and Darcy-Weisbach friction coefficients by the regression analysis are derived from the power law form as a function of flow discharge and friction slope with bed materials and vegetations in natural and vegetated rivers, respectively.
This paper addresses the issues of the external system modeling and power system state estimation with the external model. A set of significant measurements is identified in the external system based on their sensitivities on the tie-lines. These measurement data are transferred to internal system and updated in real-time. The state estimator is run for different loading conditions by using the actual values for the internal system and selected significant external system measurements while keeping the rest of the external system measurements at their base case values. Simulation results are presented using the IEEE 118 bus system as an example.
