  • Porcelain suspension insulators have teen used for a long time in distribution line. However, Puncture breakdowns in porcelain insulators caused by weaking cement between metal fitting nad porcelain material. There is little puncture breakdown in Epoxy casting insulator. This paper presents electrical test results for the development of suspension insulator used Cycloaliphatic Epoxy resin. Items of test results are as follow - Power Arc test - Aging test - Impulse flashover voltage tests - Puncture tests et.al.

피스톤 링 마찰 특성의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Frictional Characteristics of the Piston Ring)

  • A friction tester to measure friction force generated at the interface between the piston ring and the cylinder liner was developed. Modified piston ring is bar-shaped and 100mm long. Surface of the modified piston ring is machined by the profile grinding machine to be formed as a shape of an arc of a circle. Measured data are treated as mean effective friction force and power loss. From this test it can be confirmed that friction force is deeply affected by surface shape of the piston ring and viscosity of supplied oil. Friction force is deeply affected by surface shape of the piston ring and viscosity of supplied oil. Friction force is decreased and power loss is increased with increasing velocity. And it is known that region of mixed lubrication is broader than estimated with theoretical analysis. it is expected that this tester can be used as the optimization tool of the surface shape of the piston ring at the first stage of development of the piston rings.

  • 전동기 전원 개폐를 주목적으로 하는 전자개폐기는 빈번하고 불규칙한 개폐동작에 의해 발생되는 Arc 에너지에 대해 전기적으로 내구성능을 확보하는 것이 중요하다. 또한, 전기적 내구 성능은 수명과 품질을 결정하는 요인으로서 선진업체에서는 내구성능을 향상시키려 연구개발 활동에 집중하고 있다. 이러한 전기적 내구 성능을 향상, 평가하기 위해서는 장기간에 걸친 시험 기간과 시험규격에서 요구하는 조건을 만족시키는 시험 회로와 설비구성이 필수적이다. 여기서는 전기적 내구 성능에 대한 이해와 시험규격을 통한 시험회로 설계 및 설비제작에 대해 설명하고 시험결과를 분석하고자 한다.

  • The circuit breaker in an electric power system is not operated when the voltage in the circuit breaker is higher than the rated transient recovery voltage (TRV). The TRV of a circuit breaker is characterized by re-ignition of the arc between two poles and determined by the value of connecting impedance. In this study, we simulated the peak value of TRV in the AC filter of the circuit breaker. The suitability of TRV is assessed by capacitive current switching test conditions defined by the international guide IEC62271-100.

  • 1970년대 이후 반도체 기술의 발달로 Thyristor Valve 가 기존의 Mercury Arc Valve를 대체 하면서 HVDC 기술이 급격히 향상되고 교류송전에 비해 직류송전이 갖는 여러 가지 이점 때문에 최근 HVDC 송전이 점점 증가하고 있는 추세에 있다. 본 연구에서는 2000년에 발표된 CIGRE 189.의 "800kV급까지의 HVDC 송전케이블의 전기적 평가 권고안" 에 준하여, 제조된 케이블의 전기적 평가를 위한 고전압 임펄스 중첩회로를 모듈별로 구성하고 그 회로의 동작을 시뮬레이션 프로그램으로 모의하고 전기적 시험회로의 구성가능성을 평가하였다.

  • This study investigates the design factors of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) which is applied to Hybrid electric vehicle as a driving power. Recently, there are many studies of IPMSM for application to Hybrid Electric Vehicle, because IPMSM has characteristics of high torque, high power density and high efficiency which come from reluctance torque due to difference of inductance as well as magnet torque. This study analyzes the inductance and design characteristics of IPMSM by using finite element method and focuses on design and analysis of IPMSM which can operates with high efficiency at low speed range. For this embodiment, magnet shape is changed from conventional block type to arc type without any change of outline dimension of motor and this change of magnet shape makes it possible to increase back EMF and sinusoidal waveform. Analysis results are verified by test of improved and embodied motor. As a test result , increased back EMF and sharply decrease of harmonics are secured and through this contribution of reduced fuel consumption of Hybrid electric vehicle is expected.

  • This paper describes the principles of reignition system which has newly been developed and used as KERI's high power testing facilities. Synthetic short-circuit testing method is generally adopted to perform the short-circuit test of the ultra high-voltage circuit breakers, which consists of two separated sources such as the current source from short-circuit generator and the voltage source from charged energy in capacitor. And, in case of synthetic short-circuit test, it will be necessary to use the reignition system in order to extending the arcing time of the circuit breaker and provide the arc energy equivalent to the direct testing method.

  • As the results of evaluation of its performance for 300 kN Ball and Socket type suspension insulators. There was electrically internal puncture of the solid insulating body of the insulating due to the steep front impulse voltage, which usually occurs puncture before external flash-over of insulators, moreover we have obtained satisfactory results in power arc test of 7.2kA cycle fatigue test with high qualify control index of 4.6, especially we have obtained more satisfactory results than that before improvement of its materials.

  • The Nd: YAG laser is commonly used throughout many fields such as accurate material processing, IC marking, semiconductor annealing, medical operation devices, etc., due to the fact that it has good thermal and mechanical properties and is easy to maintain. In materials processing, it is essential to vary the laser power density for specific materials. The laser power density can be mainly controlled by the current pulse width and pulse repetition rate. It is important to control the laser energy in those fields using a pulsed laser. In this paper we propose the constant-frequency current resonant half-bridge converter and monitoring of capacitor charging voltage. This laser power supply is designed and fabricated to have less switching loss, compact size, isolation with primary and secondary transformers, and detection of capacitor charging voltage. Also, the output stabilization characteristics of this Nd: YAG laser system are investigated. The test results are described as a function of laser output energy and flashlamp arc discharging constant. At the energy storage capacitor charges constant voltage, the laser output power is 2.3% error range in 600[V].

  • Low voltage circuit breakers which interrupt rapidly and raise the reliability of power supply are widly used in power distribution systems. In the paper, it was investigated how much Interrupting capability was improved by correcting the shape of the contact system in molded case circuit breaker(below MCCB), especially arc runner. Prior to the interrupting testing, it was necessary for the optimum design to analyze electromagnetic forces on the contact system, generated by current and flux density.
