  • The real time monitoring of the power systems covering wide area are essential for the stable operation and control of the power system. Synchronized phasor measurement is a key for the precise monitoring and control of the power systems. In this paper, to suggest an appropriate network topology of Power Infrastructure Defense System(PIDS) and to estimate the maximum network bandwidth with using the network analyzer, we simulate a PIDS and analyze the network traffic.

  • This paper present same thodology for the classification of power system voltage stability, the trajectory of which to instability is monotonic, using an interior point method based support vector machine(IPMSVM). The SVM based voltage stability classifier canp rovide real-time stability identification only using the local measurement data, without the topological information conventionally used.

  • This paper describes the recent research and technical trend of power cable system. Compact sizing with long length and large capacity is the main trend of the power cable. From the manufacturing process to the monitoring of the underground power line, various new techniques are being developed for reliability and high quality such as in-line monitoring system, triple common extrusion, PD measurement system, new type completion test, etc.

  • The linear motor available for linear transition motion, because of its advantages, the motor design and its application have gradually increased, but the quantitative measurement system of thrust force has not been generalized. So, this paper proposes the modeling, computation method, and measurement system of linear thrust force in HB-type linear pulse motor. As the computation method of thrust force in linear motor is presented and the measurement system is designed, and manufactured, it would be verified that reliability of measurement method and measurement system, considering on and comparing the results of mathematical modeling with measured values of static thrust force and dynamic one.

  • As constantly increasing wind power penetrates power grid, wind power plants (WPPs) are exerting a direct influence on the traditional power system. Most of WPPs are using variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) wind turbines equipped with doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) due to their high efficiency over other wind turbine generators (WTGs). Therefore, the analysis of DFIG has attracted considerable attention. Precisely measuring optimum reference speed is basis of utilized maximum wind power in electric power generation. If the measurement of wind speed can be easily taken, the reference of rotation speed can be easily calculated by known system's parameters. However, considering the varying wind speed at different locations of blade, the turbulence and tower shadow also increase the difficulty of its measurement. The aim of this study is to design fuzzy controllers to replace the wind speedometer to track the optimum generator speed based on the errors of generator output power and rotation speed in varying wind speed. Besides, this paper proposes the fuzzy adaptive PID control to replace traditional PID control under rated wind speed in variable-pitch wind turbine, which can detect and analyze important aspects, such as unforeseeable conditions, parameters delay and interference in the control process, and conducts online optimal adjustment of PID parameters to fulfill the requirement of variable pitch control system.

도시철도 직류 전력량 계측을 위한 직류용 스마트미터링 시스템 개발 및 성능시험 (Development and Performance Test of DC Smart Metering System for the DC Power Measurement of Urban Railway)

  • DC urban railway power system consists of DC power network and AC power network. The DC power network supplies electric power to railway vehicles and the AC power network supplies electric power to station electric equipment. Recently, because of power consumption reduction and peak load shaving, intelligent measurement of regenerative energy and renewable energy adapted on DC urban railway is required. For this reason, DC smart metering system for DC power network shall be developed. Therefore, in this paper, DC voltage sensor, current sensor, and DC smart meter were developed and evaluated by performance test. DC voltage sensor was developed for measuring standard voltage range of DC urban railway, and DC current sensor was developed as hall effect split core type in order to install in existing system. DC smart meter possesses function of general intelligent electric power meter, such as measuring electricity and wireless communication etc. And, DC voltage sensor showed average 0.17% of measuring error for 2,000V/50mA, and current sensor showed average 0.21% of measuring error for ${\pm}2,000V/{\pm}4V$ in performance test. Also DC smart meter showed maximum 0.92% of measuring error for output of voltage sensor and current sensor. In similar environment for real DC power network, measuring error rate was under 0.5%. In conclusion, accuracy of DC smart metering system was confirmed by performance test, and more detailed performance will be verified by further real operation DC urban railway line test.

위성망을 이용한 파워 그리드 위기관리 시스템의 테스트베드 구현 (The Testbed System for Crisis Management System of the Power Grid Using Satellite Communication Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 위성망을 이용한 파워 그리드의 위기관리 시스템을 검증하기 위한 테스트베드 시스템을 제안하였다. 위기관리 시스템의 검증을 위해, 제안된 테스트베드는 위성통신의 통신품질을 기상상황에 맞추어 시뮬레이션 하였으며, 파워 그리드의 동작과 이상상황에 대한 정확한 재현을 위해 FPGA 기반의 Phase Measurement Unit(PMU) 에뮬레이터를 구현하였다. 제안된 위성통신 시뮬레이터는 전국 각 지역의 순간 강수량 및 최대 강수량 데이터를 데이터베이스화하여, 습도와 강수량에 기반을 둔 위성통신의 신뢰성을 모델링 하였으며, 인터넷을 통한 실시간 순간 강수량 데이터를 이용해 실시간 위성통신 신뢰도 맵을 구현하였다. 또한 PMU 에뮬레이터는 FPGA 를 이용한 하드웨어 기반의 에뮬레이터 구현을 통해 동작의 신뢰도를 높였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 테스트베드 시스템은 위성망을 이용한 파워 그리드 위기관리 시스템의 검증과 운영에 적용하였다.

  • The precise measurement of consumed power for a given time is very important in the energy management aspect. Up to days, most power meter has been used and designed for use on circuits in which the voltage and current are essentially sinusoidal. Recently the increase of switching element in power system causes the current and voltage with harmonics. Therefore, power energy involving harmonics is supplied to the system and the error of power measurement of watthour meter is existed. In this paper, we present a characteristic analysis by input frequency variation and analytical basis of induction watthour meter considering harmonics.

  • The precise detection of electric leakage point of underground power cable is very important to reduce cost and time of maintenance and prevent electric shock accident through expedite repair of electric leakage point. This paper proposes a electric leakage point detection system underground power cable using of half-period modulated transmission waveform and earth electric potential measurement. The developed system is composed of transmitter to generate the wanted pulse waveform, receiver to measure and display earth electric potential by the transmitted pulse in electric leakage point and PC Software program to display of GPS coordinate on detection cable line. The performance of the electric leakage point detection system was tested in the constructed underground cable leakage detection test bed. The test results on signal generation voltage precision of signal transmitter, mean detection earth voltage, mean detection leakage current and electric leakage point detection error showed the developed system can be used in electric leakage point detection underground power cable.
