  • Our status of off-shore stow-net fishery is in face with many difficult problems; the lack of fisherman by evading the 3-D occupation, the safety accident by unskilled crew and old type fishing system. In order to solve those problems, it is necessary to save the man power and ensure the safety of fishing work by the effective utilization of power and automatization of fishing gear system. This is consists of the side drum driven by main engine, the net hauler, the bow and stern capstan, jib crane etc. Therefore, we suggest the design on unification of power device of fishing gear system as follows; (1) fishing system by uni-hydraulic power and (2) fishing system by electric motor and electro-hydraulic power.

  • In this paper, the intelligent landscape lighting power control and monitoring system with solar sell generator equipment is proposed. The first, the intelligent landscape lighting power controller is designed using the fuzzy logic control method. And the fuzzy logic controller is used to save power consumption for various reference intensity of the illumination. The second, the GUI monitoring system is presented. It has control and display faculty. And the practical experiment device is used to evaluate the performance criteria of the proposed intelligent landscape lighting power control system with the solar cell power generation equipment. From the experiment results, we present the property of proposed fuzzy controller such as steady state error, the tracking and power consumption characteristic for the reference intensity of illumination. And also we show the superiority of power control as well as the characteristic of GUI monitoring system in the proposed system.

  • At present, one of the big characteristics in electric power market in korea is unique seller but in the near future competitions are expected in the market. so additional service for the electric power are expected. Also with development of IT technology, remote inspection for power usage are possible so as consumption pattern analysis. KORAIL is one of the biggest consumer in electric power market so it is necessary to investigate power consumption pattern. This paper presents electric load consumption pattern for representative substation like urban subway, high-speed train, industrial line and simulation program for electric power rate definition program based on billing system database. Base on the substation annual power usage DB data, the characteristic of the substation power consumption are investigated and effective electrical billing system are compared each other. Through this program it is verified that we can save more then several hundred million won for a year.

This paper presents simulation program for electric power rates define program based on billing system database. Base on the substation annual power usage DB data, the characteristic of the substation power consumption are investigated and effective electrical billing system are compared each other. Through this program it is verified that we can save more then several hundred million won for a year. Also electric train air condition power consumption was measured to figure the method how to reduce peak energy consumption.

  • Pohang accelerator Laboratory is from 1994 analyzed electric power amount used for about 10 years. It is one of equipment that consume electric power of greate electric power to single test equipment. Accelerator Laboratory institute investigates the consumption rate of energy that is spent to each building could divide by linear accelerator and save ring and analyzed about the equipment utilization rate and average electric power. Countermeasure that this treatise can forecast power loss of electric power by equipment through analysis of electric power amount used and heighten the utilization rate of equipment wishes to do comparative analysis.

Variable Conversion Gain Mixer for Dual Mode Receiver (이중 모우드 수신기용 가변 변환이득 믹서)

  • In this paper, dual mode FET mixer for WiBro and wireless LAN(WLAN) applications has been designed in the form of dual gate FET mixer by using the cascode structure of two single gate pHEMTs. The designed dual gate mixer has been optimized to have variable conversion gain for WiBro and WLAN applications in order to save dc power consumption. The LO to RF isolation of the designed mixer is more than 20dB from 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz band. With the LO power of 0dBm and RF power of -50dBm, the mixer shows 15dB conversion gain. When RF power increases from -50dBm to -20dBm, the conversion gain decreases to -2dB from 15dB with bias change. The variable conversion gain has several advantages. It can reduce the high dynamic range requirement of AGC burden at IF stage. Also, it can save the dc power dissipation of mixer up to 90%.

  • Many ship researches have been carried out in connection with the fourth revolution, one of which focuses on EMS(energy management system). The EMS is referred to as systems for managing the energy of ships and include various systems. In this paper, we analyze the energy saving field in ship and propose a ship power energy management system including individual load control systems that can save energy in the engine room. EMS includes individual load control systems of PCS (Pump Control System), ERFCS (Engine Room Fan Control System), LCS (Load Control System), HVACS (Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning Control System). Proposed EMS primarily conserves energy in the individual load systems of the engine room. Secondly, the integrated monitoring and control system is used to control the power generation system and the power load system to save energy.

  • This paper gives a feasibility reference of integrating power automation for digital substation. An overview and techno-economical potential of IEC61850 are introduced. The result of economic analysis is shown to save up to one-third of the total cost of automation installation. The gained benefits can be used to increase the economy and reliability of electrical power system.

  • The power saving mechanism of IEEE 802.16e operates in two modes; awake mode and sleep mode. While the user terminal transmits and receives packets in awake mode, it sleeps for a given interval to save the power consumption in sleep mode. The IEEE 802.16e specifies that the user terminal increases the sleep interval exponentially unless it has to wake up. In this paper, we analyze the performance of IEEE 802.16e power saving mechanism by considering down link traffic conditions. With the extensive simulations, we observe the trade-off between the power saving performance and the average packet delay. In addition, we observe that various performance parameters of IEEE 802.16e power saving mechanism are affected by the traffic patterns.

  • Recently, multi-branced driving systems are often used for power station systems or for marine propulsion systems to save the initial cost, the man power and to improve the energy efficiency. As the multi-branched power system has a very complicated vibrating system, its analyzing method is quite different from the ordinary method for the single straight system. In this study, the multi-branched power system is reduced to derive equations of free vibration and some analytical methods are studied to solve these equations and computer programs are developed to calcuate their numerical solutions. And also, equations of forced-damped vibration of the multi-branched power system which involves diesel engines are derived and their solving methods are studied. Some computer programs are developed to get responses of the forced vibration with damping and their results are synthesized to get resultant responses. Finally, exciting forces of diesel engine and damping forces of power driving systems are appreciated to help field engineers by suggesting reasonable method of estimating their values.
