A study on the improvement of Drive circuit in the Power Line Communication (전력선 통신환경에서의 구동회로 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The Channel environment is poor in the power line communication because power line proposed power supply use a communication medium. In this paper, we designed gate drive circuit used coupler reducing the signal diminution for the good communication. We analyzed receiving and transmitting operation of the coupler and designed the drive circuit with the suitable impedance. As a result, we improved the environment of impedance variation due to the inter reaction of many electron products. So, to improve BER(45%) enabled us to communicate smoothly in power line communication.

  • In this Paper telemetering system for home automation is Proposed and implemented. Proposed and developed systems are composed with a home server and a few clients which send metering data of gas electric power water and home security to home server using power line communication. Management computer located in office of apartment complex collects all kinds of measured home data from each home server with multi drop communication by UDP Protocol A simple ASK method is used for power line communication Collected data from each home can be used for issuing the bill of each house and web service. The experiments were carried out under laboratory environment using various kinds of electric home appliances to ascertain the performance.

  • Power line communication, using 25[kV] high voltage of railway catenary, is to provide information which is real-time safety information for train operations and train workers in driving. Lots of noise were occupied in the contact wire by electrical and communication equipments. A signal attenuation was caused characteristics of the contact wire and messenger wire. For relaying communications to transmit information using the contact wire, catenary the noise and signal attenuation were investigated. And the final goal of the study was realized to transmit video information by power line communication on electric railway.

  • In order to enhance standardization and interoperability of local level systems, AHU control network was designed with basement(8 point) and basis story(15 point) and then the network was constructed by power line communication. Each devices of AHU system were programed with neuron C of $L_{ON}W_{ORKS}$ as an open protocol. As a result of a study, each devices of the network were controlled with self dispersion process by $L_{ON}W_{ORKS}$ protocol and wiring could be reduced by power line communication.

  • In order to simplify the wiring of construction heavy equipment, researches on PLC(Power Line Communication)-CAN(Controller Area Network) communication module are actively proceeding. Even if a PLC-CAN communication module is developed, a simulator capable of judging whether the PLC-CAN communication module is operating normally is needed. In this paper, we designed and developed a simulator that can measure the status of PLC-CAN communication module. We analyzed the characteristics of the power line communication frequency band by analyzing the characteristics of the power line and compared the noise characteristics with the passenger car in order to characterize the heavy equipment noise.

  • This paper describe a method for measuring line impedance as a function of frequency for an energized powerline in normal operation. A small sinusoidal signal of a powerline communication utility frequency 30khz$\sim$1Mhz band is continuously injected into the line, and a implemented impedance analyzer calculates the indoor powerline channel impedance from the measured magnitude and phase of resulting voltage and current. The impedance measurement is executed over a range of frequencies to produce a wideband impedance versus frequency characteristic. Implemented impedance analyzer can analysis powerline communication environments measuring line impedance due to load caused in indoor. And measured analysis information through the database can use to evaluate performance of modem and to decide test environment standard.

  • In the power-line communication(PLC) systems, the power line is a wired medium. However, the power line channel has the multi-path fading characteristics like the wireless channel in the wireless communication systems because it has the signal reflection and divergence by the impedance mismatching between many branch lines and loads. So the analysis of the multi-path characteristics is very important, and it has been doing by the several measurement methods for the impulse response between the transmitter and the receiver. PN sequence method has originally been used as a wideband impulse response measurement mettled for wireless channel, but it is recently being applied to not only the wireless channel but also the wired channel like the power line channel. This method is more useful and effective for the long distance communication channel like the medium voltage power distribution line with the multi-paths[1]. In this thesis, we have measured impulse response for the medium voltage power distribution line channel by the wideband measurement method using PN sequence, analytically studied the measured data and presented the results.

  • In this paper, we studied the emissive electric field due to the communication signal and the noise in medium voltage power-line. There are many types of conductive noise in power-line channel, which gives rise to radiation. And if the DMT carrier signal was excited, the current by this term was added to the current by noise and, generate radiation. We calculated input impedance by means of signal input network model of medium voltage power-line channel for calculating these currents. We calculated currents by input impedance and, calculated the emissive electric field by this calculated currents. From the measurement results, we knew that the measured results are very similar to the calculated results and if the input signal power level was higher than -40 dBm, the emissive electric field exceeds FCC radiation limit level 69.5 dB$\mu$V/m.

  • Technical regulation of harm prevention for power line communication prescribes the technical matters to protect human and other equipment from power line communication equipment. Unified operation of technical regulation of power line communication and line facility installation is more efficient in content. This paper is to discuss the technical background of national PLC system and the direction of reforming related techinal regulations.
