골막 자극 후 Laser Doppler Flowmetry를 이용한 치은혈류량 변화 (A laser Doppler study of gingival blood flow change following periosteal stimulation)

  • The roots of teeth exposed by gingival recession, may be successfully covered by various type of gingival grafting procedures. Vascularization of the recipient site is an essential determinant of the grafts' survival during the first healing stages. It has been suggested that a procedure by which they stimulate the periosteum presurgically will induce the proliferation of neo-endothelium in the site to be operated. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the variations in the gingival blood flow during 4weeks after periosteal stimulation in patient scheduled to receive gingival grafts and to compare variations in the gingival blood flow between smoker and non-smoker. Laser Doppler Flowmetry(floLAB(R), Moor Instruments Ltd, England ; wave length = 780mm. Max. power =l.6mW) was used to measure the gingival blood flow. 112 sites of 68 male patients (32 smokers and 36 non-smoker), aged between 23 and 48 years (smoker : 24-44 years. mean=32.6, non-smoker : 23-48 years, mean=28.5) were monitored for the blood flow. Gingival blood flow measured at before periosteal stimulation, 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-weeks after periosteal stimulation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The difference of blood flow in each measuring time, each measuring site and between smokers and non-smokers were statistically analyzed by MANOVA. The results were as follows : (1) Blood flow stayed increased for 2 weeks, and then, it was a tendency to decrease(p<0.05). (2) There was no statistically significant difference of blood flow change between smokers and non-smokers. (3)The blood flow at middle site had lower than mesial and distal site during the measuring periods(p<0.05). The present study suggested that blood flow change following periosteal stimulation was significant difference, thus periosteal stimulation before gingival graft might induce favorable results in gingival recession patient.

Investigation of the Performance of Spectral Domain Optical Doppler Tomography with High-speed Line Scanning CMOS Camera and Its Application to the Blood Flow Measurement in a Micro-tube

  • In this study, the feasibility of spectral domain optical Doppler tomography for measuring blood flow characteristics in a micro-tube was demonstrated through several experiments. The use of an SD-ODT system in blood flow measurement can provide high resolution images (5 microns resolution). We prepared three capillary tubes to reveal the effect of different concentrations of hematocrit ratio (HR). One tube serves as the control. The two other tubes contained different concentrations of HR (5%, 25%). Three different capillary tube inlet flow velocities were tested in the present study. The Reynolds number (Re) which is based on the capillary tube inner diameter ranges from Re=6 to 48. We calculated a Doppler shift of the power spectrum of the temporal interference fringes with Kasai autocorrelation function to achieve the velocity profile of the flow. As a result, SD-ODT systems could not detect the cell depletion layer in the present study due to the limitation of spatial resolution. Nevertheless, these systems were proven to be capable of observing the RBCs of blood.

정상인의 한냉자극에 대한 심박변이도 및 도플러 초음파 혈류계를 이용한 말초 혈류관찰 (Clinical Observation on Heart Rate Variability and Peripheral Blood Flow by Doppler Ultrasound in Healthy Subjects Stimulated by Cold Stress)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to investigate the effect of cold stress on heart rate variability and peripheral blood flow by Doppler ultrasound in healthy subjects. Methods: We classified the subjects by their Yin or Yang tendency using a Yin-Yang questionnaire. Cold stress was taken on the left hand of subjects for 10 seconds. Heart rate variability and peripheral blood flow were measured on the right radial artery before and after cold stress. Results: The Yang tendency group showed a significant decrease of heart rate after cold stress which was not seen in the Yin tendency group. The Yang tendency group showed a decrease of LF, total power, and increase of HF after cold stress, while the Yin tendency group showed the opposite. However, there were no statistically significant differences of heart rate variability analysis between the results of the two groups before and after cold stress. Recovery time of blood flow velocity by ultrasound Doppler was significantly different between the Yin and Yang tendency groups after cold stress. Conclusion: These results suggest that people with Yin or Yang tendency may show different responses in the autonomic nervous system. Further modified studies may include the responses to various manipulation techniques in acupuncture treatment and the individual responses according to pattern identification in traditional Korean medicine.

부반송파간 간섭과 도플러 효과에 강한 WFMT 변조 방식의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of WFMT Modulation System Robust to ICI and Doppler Effect)

  • OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)은 고속 통신 시스템에 매우 효과적이다. 그러나 OFDM은 단일 반송파 시스템과 달리 높은 PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio)과 심각한 ICI(Inter Subcarrier Interference) 문제를 갖는다. 특히 ICI는 OFDM 신호들의 부반송파 사이에 직교성을 깨드려 시스템의 성능을 저하시킨다. 본 논문에서는 ICI에 대해 좋은 성능을 보이는 WFMT(Wavelet Filtered Multitone) 시스템을 연구하고, 위상 잡음과 반송 주파수 오프셋에 대한 성능 분석한다. WFMT 시스템은 멀티 채널 신호를 생성하고 분석하기 위하여 필터 뱅크 기술과 웨이블렛 이론을 기반으로 한다. 그러므로 WFMT 시스템은 필터 뱅크 시스템의 장점을 유지한다. 이 논문에서는 반송 주파수와 위상 잡음으로 인한 WFMT 시스템과 OFDM 시스템의 ICI와 ISI(Inter Symbol Interference)를 비교한다. 또한, 이 시스템들에서 PAPR 성능과 도플러 효과가 미치는 영향을 수식적으로 분석하고, HPA와 위상 잡음, 도플러 효과가 시스템에 존재할 때 각 시스템들의 BER 성능을 보인다.

입자분리기 최적 설계를 위한 다상 유동 해석 (Analysis of Gas-Solid Flow for the Optimum Design of Coal Splitter)

  • The experimental investigation of a coal splitter used in the 500㎿(e) boilers of fossil power plant is carried out to validate the design criteria. To predict air flow and the amount of particles at the exit, velocity and the weight of particles are measured on test planes using the coal splitter model with two-dimensional phase doppler particle analyzer and the glass fiber filter. It is found that the position of guide plate influences significantly both flow rates of gas and particle at the exit. Gas flow rate was a linear function of the guide plate, whereas particle flow rate was a exponential function of it.

  • Initial results of processing data from an experiment performed in November, 2005 are given. A microwave Doppler radar with a knife-like beam ($1.5^0$ - $24.5^0$) was installed on a helicopter. Measurements were made during a flight above the Gorky water storage basin. Power and Doppler spectra of the radar reflected signal were analyzed. The processing has shown that the algorithm developed for the retrieval of the slopes of rough water surface enables one to determine the direction of wave propagation and retrieve the variance of the wave slopes.

  • The positions of rotating sound sources have been localized by experiments with the Doppler effects removed. In order to do-Dopplerize the sound signals emitted from moving sources, two kinds of signal reconstruction methods were applied. One is the forward propagation method and the other is the backward propagation method. Forward propagation method analyze the source emission time based on the instantaneous distance between sensors and the assumed source position, then the signals are reconstructed with respect to the emission time. On the other hand, the backward method uses time delay to do-Dopplerize the acquired data for the received time of reference. In both techniques, the reconstructed signal data were processed using beamforming algorithm to produce power distributions at the frequency of interest. Experiments have been carried out for varying frequencies, rotating speeds and the object distances. Forward propagation method has shown better performance in locating source position than the backward propagation method.

  • The FM demodulation method for a bulk homodyne laser interferometer is presented. The Doppler frequency that represents the surface velocity of a vibrating object is obtained by using the bulk homodyne laser interferometer, and converted to the voltage signal by using the proposed analogue FM demodulation circuit. The DC offsets of the interferent signals that are obtained from the bulk homodyne interferometer are eliminated by using a simple subtraction. The new method for compensation of the asymmetry of each channels is presented. The light power variation of the interferometer is normalized by using the Auto Gain Controller(AGC). The proposed FM demodulation algorithm is proved by the theoretical method, and validated by the experimental results. In experiments, the proposed FM demodulation algorithm is compared with the conventional demodulation methods.

OFDMA 상향링크 시스템의 성능 분석 (Performance Evaluation of Uplink OFDMA Systems)

  • OFDMA의 상향링크 시스템에서 비선형 전력 증폭기와 반송파 주파수 편차의 영향을 고려하여 데이터가 주파수 선택적 Rayleigh 도플러 시변 페이딩 채널을 통하여 전송될 때 비트 오류율을 분석한다. 본 논문에서는 우수한 비트 오류율 특성을 위하여 사용자 수에 따라 요구되는 비선형 증폭기의 최대 출력 전력 대 평균 출력 전력 비(OBO)와 반송파 주파수 편차의 크기를 구하며, 도플러 페이딩의 정도에 따라 결정되는 비트 오류율 특성 열화를 분석한다.

도플러 레이더를 위한 X-Band SOM 설계 (Design of X-Band SOM for Doppler Radar)

  • 본 논문에서는 하나의 트랜지스터로 발진과 주파수 혼합이 동시에 이루어지는 self-oscillating-mixer(SOM) 방식을 적용하여 높은 변환 이득을 갖는 X-band 도플러 레이더를 설계하였다. SOM의 위상 잡음 특성을 향상시키기 위하여 ${\lambda}/2$ slotted square patch resonator(SSPR) 공진기를 제안하였으며, 동일 주파수에서 기존 공진기에 비해 50 %의 면적 감소와 175.4의 높은 Q값을 이루었다. 제작된 SOM은 저 전력 시스템을 구현하기 위해 1.7 V의 낮은 바이어스 전압을 인가해 주었으며, 높은 변환 이득을 위하여 트랜지스터의 pinch-off voltage 근처를 동작점으로 설정하였고, 변환 이득이 최대가 되도록 최적화 하였다. 제안된 SOM의 출력 파워는 10.65 GHz에서 -3.16 dBm으로 측정되었으며, DC Power consumption은 7.65 mW로 상대적으로 작은 전력을 소모한다. 또한, 9.48 dB의 높은 변환 이득 특성과 100 kHz offset에서 -90.91 dBc/Hz의 위상 잡음 특성을 나타내며, 이때 성능지수(FOM)는 -181.8 dBc/Hz 으로 다른 SOM에 비해 7 dB 이상 개선되었다.
