  • This study examined the detection rate of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) in serum and saliva samples, respectively, from 120 dental patients who were unaware if they have or had either hepatitis or tuberculosis. The frequencies of HBsAg and anti-HBs were determined using an immunochromatic assay. Mtb positivity was determined by the PCR method. Of the 120 patients, 7 (5.8%) were HBV positive and 30 (25.0%) were Mtb positive. This highlights the fact that dental health care workers (DHCWs) can be exposed to the risk of infection from blood- or saliva-borne pathogens as a consequence of their work. Therefore, it is very important to prevent cross infection between patients and dental personnel. Accordingly, laboratory tests prior to surgical treatment are needed to determine the infectious state of dental patients in order to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases in dental clinics.

But, result that focus on city gas supply spread and stable supply for supply area and neglects about safety problem, hundreds casualties such as Ahyun explosion accident and Deagu city gas explosion accident were reached in situation that occurred large size calamity occurs it is dizzliness. In the case of advanced nation, can see that accomplish system and progress that in technology after experience major accident. Therefore, grasp problem investigating safety actual conditions for city gas institution and study about solvable plan is required this. Also, must guide reform and level elevation of a domestic company safety technology through induction and development of safety technology that is suitable in supply, domestic real condition etc. Must help in power positivity that is full text executing high-quality safety education about step High firing mechanism safety technology than present safety education.

  • We present a multi-stage Roe-type numerical scheme for a model of two-phase flows arisen from the modeling of deflagration-to-detonation transition in granular materials. The first stage in the construction of the scheme computes the volume fraction at every time step. The second stage deals with the nonconservative terms in the governing equations which produces states on both side of the contact wave at each node. In the third stage, a Roe matrix for the two-phase is used to apply on the states obtained from the second stage. This scheme is shown to capture stationary waves and preserves the positivity of the volume fractions. Finally, we present numerical tests which all indicate that the proposed scheme can give very good approximations to the exact solution.

  • Solitary fibrous tumor is a spindle cell neoplasm that can arise in any place of the body. Intracranial solitary fibrous tumors are rare. To our knowledge, only 57 cases with intracranial lesion have been reported. In Korea three cases have been reported. Our case was a 23-year-old woman who presented with morning headache. MRI showed a large intra-axial mass involving falx with typically isointense and heterogeneous strong enhancement on T1 weighted image in the right parieto-occipital region. Histologically the tumor showed spindle shaped cells within matrix with thick collagen deposition, hypercellularity, focal necrosis, and pleomorphism. Immunohistochemical study demonstrated diffuse positivity for CD34, Vimentin, Reticulin. In case of the intracranial tumors involving the meninges, we also should consider the solitary fibrous tumor with immunohistochemical staining for accurate diagnosis.

  • Korea is now classified as an area of intermediate endemicity for hepatitis B virus (HBV), due to the implementation of universal HBV vaccination and national preventive programs for HBV infection. A national program of HBV vaccination was launched in Korea in 1988 for school-going children and was listed on a vaccination guideline in 1991. In 1995, universal vaccination for newborn infants was started for the prevention of perinatal HBV transmission. The prevalence of HBsAg among Korean middle school students has shown marked decreased from 3.2% in the late 1990s to 0.44% in 2007. HBsAg positivity in preschool children was 0.9% in 1995, decreased to 0.2% in 2007 by national prevention program of hepatitis B vertical transmission, launched in 2002. Vaccine failure rate of HBV immunoprophylaxis is 4.2% by this program. The infected children should be monitored per 6-12 months interval. Lamivudine and interferon are approved therapies for children with chronic hepatitis B in immune-clearance phase in Korea.

  • The model updating problems, which are to find the optimal approximation to the discrete quadratic model obtained by the finite element method, are critically important to the vibration analysis. In this paper, the structured model updating problem is considered, where the coefficient matrices are required to be symmetric and positive semidefinite, represent the interconnectivity of elements in the physical configuration and minimize the dynamics equations, and furthermore, due to the physical feasibility, the physical parameters should be positive. To the best of our knowledge, the model updating problem involving all these constraints has not been proposed in the existed literature. In this paper, based on the semidefinite programming technique, we design a general-purpose numerical algorithm for solving the structured model updating problems with incomplete measured data and present some numerical results to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

  • The logarithmic form for turbulent flow analysis guarantees the positivity of the turbulence variables as ${\kappa}$ and ${\varepsilon}$ of the ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model by using the natural logarithm of these variables. In the present study, the logarithmic form is incorporated into the finite element solution procedure for the unsteady turbulent flow analysis. A backward facing step flow using the standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model and a flow around a 2D square cylinder using the modified ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model (the Kato-Launder model) are simulated. These results show that the logarithmic form effectively keeps adequate balance of turbulence variables and makes the analysis stable during transient or unsteady processes.

  • Biological response modifiers (BRMs) can alter interactions between the immune system and cancer cells to boost, direct, or restore the body's ability to fight disease. Mice with ethylnitrosourea- (ENU) induced leukemia were here used to monitor the therapeutic efficacy of lipopolysaccaride (LPS), Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG) and sheep erythrocytes (SRBC). Flow cytometry based CD34+ positivity analysis, clonogenicity, proliferation and ultrastructure studies using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of stem cells in ENU induced animals with and without BRMs treatment were performed. BRMs improved the stem-stromal relationship structurally and functionally and might have potential for use as an adjunct in human stem cell therapy.

  • The Navier-Stokes system for heat-conducting incompressible fluids is studied in a domain ${\Omega}{\subset}R^3$. The viscosity, heat conduction coefficients and specific heat at constant volume are allowed to depend smoothly on density and temperature. We prove local existence of the unique strong solution, provided the initial data satisfy a natural compatibility condition. For the strong regularity, we do not assume the positivity of initial density; it may vanish in an open subset (vacuum) of ${\Omega}$ or decay at infinity when ${\Omega}$ is unbounded.

  • Here, we calculate the evolution equation of the reduced hh-curvature and the Ricci scalar along the Finslerian Ricci flow. We prove that Finsler Ricci flow preserves positivity of the reduced hh-curvature on finite time. Next, it is shown that evolution of Ricci scalar is a parabolic-type equation and moreover if the initial Finsler metric is of positive flag curvature, then the flag curvature, as well as the Ricci scalar, remain positive as long as the solution exists. Finally, we present a lower bound for Ricci scalar along Ricci flow.
