  • Lecturers' self-efficacy in teaching influences many different factors, including their instructional patterns, performance expectation level from learners, quality of learning environment, and interpersonal relationships within the community. The present study attempted to explore perspectives of college lecturers regarding this topic in order to draw meaningful conclusions and implications. To this end, four college instructors from two different higher education institutions participated in an online questionnaire. The results showed that positive attitudes and active responses of learners, and a high degree of freedom to prepare lectures tend to improve their quality of self-efficacy in teaching. On the other hand, classes that are either too easy to hard, inactiveness among learners, and heavy workload other than teaching can worsen teaching efficacy. Lastly, the participant lecturers believed that their self-efficacy are would foster if they are allowed to choose courses they wish to teach, observe a more experienced instructor's lectures, and teach smaller size classes. Findings are likely to contribute to enhanced understanding of features that are likely to affect quality of self-efficacy in teaching among college lecturers.

  • Objective: Middle school girls who belonged to the concerned group in their school assessment were treated by sandplay for relieving their emotional and behavioral difficulties. The purpose of this study was to explore the change of the internal world of the girls through sandplay. Methods: Analytical psychology and sandplay theories were used for this exploration, especially Turner's (2005) content themes in sandplay. The participants were four first-grade girls. Pre-test measures, a 12-session sandplay program, and post-test measures were administered. Results: For the first girl, the initial phase was 1-6 (time trip), the intermediate phase was 7-9 (seeking for an inner island), and the final phase was 10-12 (seeking for a real stone). For the second girl, the initial phase was 1-5 (my heart was like cold weather), the intermediate phase was 6-10 (fallen, sick, and risen), and the final phase was 11-12 (trophy given to me). For the third girl, the initial phase was 1-5 (seeking for oasis), the intermediate phase was 6-10 (difficult trip for climbing with camel), and the final phase was 11-12 (discovering oasis). For the fourth girl, the initial phase was 1-3 (an island drowning shortly ), the intermediate phase was 4-10 (my unknowable mind), and the final phase was 11-12 (a tree growing well). Conclusion: This study showed psychological phenomena in the sandplay of four girls such as opposites and the union of masculinity and femininity as they explored their own identity. Drawing tests and counselling objects indicated positive changes; thus, these findings support the effectiveness of sandplay therapy for transforming the psyche of middle school girls.

  • This study will be conducted to verify that color programs and entertainment programs affect undergraduates' psychology(Obsessive-compulsive, anxiety and hostility). The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the experimental group's psychology(Obsessive-compulsive, anxiety and hostility) participated in color programs than did all the pre-investigation levels decreased post-mortem examination, statistically significant at 95% appeared to be. Second, after watching entertainment programs, pass through cognition process of color, undergraduates' color representation worked perception of red and blue respectively. This results is that the reason of white and the suppression of black what to do now with a sense of responsibility can be considered as a change process. In conclusion, after watching entertainment programs take advantage of color programs that a positive impact on undergraduates' psychological state, as they can provide bright colors with a variety of ways that make sense to suggest.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the appropriateness of gustatory features in product design affect product evaluation and accompanied response by using functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI). Through the pilot survey, we categorized the product designs into two groups based on the level of the appropriateness. The total of 40 product designs were selected as the experimental stimuli. 15 right-handed participants(mean age = 23.33, SD = 1.7) were scanned with 3T MRI machine(ISOL Tech, Oxford OR63). The experimental stimuli were passively presented inside the scanner. In post scanning session, participants were asked to measure their preference and buying intention to the product designs. The results show that both the preference and buying intention were significantly higher for the high appropriateness condition compared to those of low appropriateness designs. Caudate nucleus and putamen, areas related to the positive reward such as monetary acquisition showed greater activation in response to the designs of high appropriateness condition, compared to the low appropriateness designs.

  • This study examined the effects of Cyber University students' educational participatory motivation and life satisfaction on their satisfaction with their major. The subjects were 937 adult learners at one of the Cyber Universities in Seoul, Korea, who were over 20 years of age. The results were as follows. First, the main motivation of the Cyber University students was goal-oriented, followed by learning-oriented motivation and activity-oriented motivation. Second, there were significant differences in their educational participatory motivation, life satisfaction and major satisfaction according to their sex, age, occupation, marriage and major. Third, their life satisfaction and three types of educational participatory motivation had positive effects on the satisfaction with their major in the order of life satisfaction, goal-oriented motivation, learning-oriented motivation and activity-oriented motivation. These findings suggest that adult learners' quality of life and motivation to learn are very important for increasing the degree of satisfaction with their major.

  • Advertisement for one type of product competes against another type using different advertising strategies. It is important to know which factors influence people's perception of the message within the advertisement and their formation of attitudes towards the advertisement. Using multidimensional scaling, this study investigated what main factors were important when people perceive beverage advertisements on TV. A positioning map was constructed based on similarity ratings of 14 drink advertisements. We examined the meaning of the three dimensions of the positioning map by asking a different group of participants to rate on components of attention, attitudes toward advertisements and products, and intention to purchase the product in each advertisement. It was found that three dimensions in the map was attention to content, color, and motion respectively. More importantly, the attentional component to content was related to the attitude of affection and action toward a beverage introduced in advertisement. These results suggest that content-based attention in advertisements induces a positive attitude toward the advertisements.

  • Objectives : Posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) has been primarily associated with emotional problems. Recently, however, the impact of PTSD on cognitive processes has interested a growing number of researchers. The current study is aimed at investigating the cognitive aspects of PTSD at both behavioral and neurological levels. Methods : We recruited individuals with PTSD who survived the Daegu subway explosion in 2003 as well as non-PTSD individuals as a control group. To evaluate the inhibitory processes and the neural mechanisms, we had these individuals perform the negative priming task simultaneously with functional MRI scanning. Results : Behaviorally, the negative priming effect was intact in the control group but was not evident in the PTSD group. In the imaging results, only the PTSD group showed the negative priming effect (i.e., increased activation of the negative priming condition as opposed to the neutral condition) in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex, and inferior temporal gyrus. The PTSD group also showed increased activity for the positive priming condition as opposed to the neutral condition in the claustrum. These results confirm and extend the previous findings that the integrity of the ACC is compromised in the trauma survivors due to disrupted white matter tract. Conclusions : The current results suggest that deteriorated performance of the PTSD group may be due to the functional problem as well as the structural abnormalities.

  • Present research was carried out on the level of exploration to verify that good luck increases probabilistic framing effect but bad luck decrease the effect. And we organized an experiment that designed experience of luck (good luck vs. bad luck vs. control) ${\times}$ probabilistic frame (high vs. low) and observed whether people response based on probabilistic frame or not. As a result, we observed the two-way interaction where experience of good luck increased probabilistic framing effect, while experience of bad luck decreased the effect (Figure 1). We expect to see more studies of contextual framing effect besides probabilistic frame (e.g., positive vs. negative; loss related to context vs. loss irrelevant to context).

  • We made Korean IAPS through measuring Korean university students' emotional response(arousal and emotional valence) about the whole 956 IAPS pictures made by Lang et al.(2005). In addition, we examined the emotional difference between American and Korean by comparing the response of original American IAPS and those of Korean IAPS. The results showed that both response of arousal and emotional valence in Korean were highly correlated with those in American respectively. In details, two groups showed differences as well as similarities. Korean showed higher arousal response than American, but in both groups women showed higher arousal response than men. When examining the emotional valence of positive, neutral, and negative stimuli categorized by American IAPS, Korean showed more modest emotional valence than American, and this group difference was the same in both men and women. In particular, Korean women showed more negative emotional valence than Korean men, but American women showed more extreme emotional valence than American men. These results suggest that there are some cultural and sex differences in the emotional response, and that researchers have to consider them when studying with IAPS stimuli.

  • Through the film 'Miss Granny', we analyzed a variety of structures. Social awareness of the cultural content of the film shown in the form of elderly social psychology, combination of approaches, role structural analysis of the people around centered the main character, acceleration structure analysis of the people around, the atmosphere structural analysis according to the environment of the people around. By these analysis, the elderly mentality was noticed by sociological theory related to the elderly. The formation of negative stereotypes and perceptions in what young people have a bias and unconscious, conscious discrimination against the elderly was mentioned in conclusion. Because the positive changes in recognition of the elderly is necessary, collective prejudice should be eliminated. The social atmosphere composition that can empathize with the sentiment of the elderly in the pursuit of youth and the necessity to develop generation integrated social programs with that younger generation and older generation sympathize together were suggested. were heartfelt suggested.
