E-business strategy has interests in Issues of strategic positioning and its impact on firm performance. These studies address the environmental factors as antecedents to strategic decision makings and its consequences such like firm performance. However most studies has not considered the role of business models In explaining e-business firm performance. We adopt Porter's generic strategies to the e-business context. We Identify business models and e-business environmental factors as antecedents and then examine these factors Influence on firm performance. We find that uncertainty of environment has a negatively related to the strategic choices of e-Business firms; in contrast, market turbulence positively affects the level of adoption of all the strategies. Among the strategies, marketing differentiation only makes an Impact on firm performance.

An analytical solution of one dimensional mild slope equation is derived by use of the WKB method, which has a form similar to Porter's solution(2003). The present solution is so general in the sense of application that it is comparable to the corresponding numerical solutions. In the derivation we also presented the solution of refraction equation in terms of surface displacement. Some numerical results of the present solution by use of Bremmer's method are presented which agree with existing numerical solutions.

Aimed at fostering global human resource and utilizing it, this study presents a more systematic approach for encouraging overseas employment of the young generation. This study suggests a method for the objective evaluation of the overseas employment program through to used the M. Porter's 5-Forces and business administrative technologies. The result of this research will allow us to suggest a well-organized and more systematic frame of the international exchange programs, in which various new policies can be found. Since the overseas employment program is a non-standard, yet important, national policy plan, the future direction of the program was suggested based on the data of the previously-promoted programs.

When Cole Porter wrote the song "Anything Goes" in 1934, he did not include skyscraper examples. The recently completed Chrysler and Empire State buildings followed decades of tall building development in a logical and predictable line. Today, dramatic improvements in materials and methods of analysis, design and fabrication have given architects and engineers freedom to imagine, and contractors to build, towers in configurations never seen before. If writing now, Porter would surely have mentioned such designs to demonstrate anything goes. Or does it? This article explores the possibilities and challenges of tall building structural design through current and proposed projects. Examples include engineering buildings with outward forms that appear structurally unfavorable and taking advantage of load reduction through shaping opportunities.

포화된 미국의 외식시장과는 대조적으로 한국의 외식시장은 도입기에서 성장기로의 전환을 맞이하고 있다. 이러한 변화속에서 미국의 외식브랜드들은 한국에 진출하여 다양한 변화와 모험을 겪으면서 다수는 성공적인 전략을 통하여 국내에 입지를 굳혔으며 그렇지 않은 기업들도 있었다. 이러한 현상들은 Porter의 경쟁 전략을 통하여 설명되어질 수 있다. 이는 초창기 미국 브랜드의 국내시장 진출전략이 어떠한 배경으로 수행되었는지를 이해할 수 있으며 또한 최근에 국내에서 빠른 성장세를 보이고 있는 전문 커피숍 시장의 변화에서도 설명되어질 수 있다. 그러나 초기 패밀리레스토랑의 도입배경과 전문 커피숍의 경우는 커피 시장의 세분화정도, 비즈니스 파트너 선택의 기준, 커피 상품과 일반음식과의 소비자들의 다른 인식 등의 몇 가지 다른 점이 있다는 것을 간과해서는 안될 것이다.

In this study, we demonstrate how the Analytic Network Process (ANP) model which is combined with Michael Porter's diamond framework can be used for assessing conditions of selected countries : Brazil. India and China for Korean steel exports. The problem of assessing country conditions requires a model that evaluates several factors on different dimensions. Those dimensions are needed for ranking them according to their likeliness of being a target for Korean steel exports. The ANP consists of four kinds of dimensions called control hierarchy : benefits, opportunities, costs, risks, each of which represents the relationship of its own clusters and elements. To develop the clusters and elements of each dimension, Porter's diamond framework will be used. The final results show that China is the most attractive country to export steel, followed by Brazil and India. This is consistent with the information that we found with respect to the elements that were taken into consideration.
