다양한 서비스를 제공하는 포털 사이트의 가격·품질 및 서비스 믹스 전략 (Pricing·Quality and Service Mix Strategies for Portal Sites Providing Various Services)

  • In this paper, we introduce a mathematical model to analyze pricing/quality and service mix strategies for Internet Portal site. This model includes utilities and costs of each participants, i.e., user, third party provider, and portal sites. Especially, we consider portal sites that initiate their businesses by providing free services like free e-mail service or search service and providing several charged services. As the results, we can find that Portal sites should make the target of customers and focus them to maximize their profit. Portal sites should pay their marketing effort not for all customers but pertinent portions of customers. And Portal sites should make more efforts to efficiently develop and provision their services.

전자무역 포탈사이트의 서비스품질과 이용자만족도에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Analysis on the Service Quality and the User Satisfaction in e-Trade Portal Sites)

  • This paper examines the major determinants affecting the user satisfaction on e-Trade portal sites in small and medium-sized exporters. The development of our research model is based on the empirical studies on the service quality of information system, web sites or Internet shopping mall, and on the factors influencing the user satisfaction. With the help of a regression analysis and factor analysis, five hypotheses are derived and tested. The results from regression analysis suggest that the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is affected by information characteristics and ease of use of e-Trade portal sites. In addition, the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is enhanced by support for international trade. Our findings will be useful, especially for those who are planning to build user-oriented e-Trade portal sites.

국내외 농촌체험관광 포탈사이트 비교 분석을 통한 산촌체험마을 포탈사이트 개선 방안 (Improvement of Internet Portal Sites for Mountain Villages by the Comparison of the Sites for Rural Tourism Villages Nationwide and Overseas)

  • This study aims to compare internet portal sites for rural tourism, and to suggest the improved contents for homepage information on mountain villages under the Korea Forest Service. Design, interface, information source, and communication as estimation indicators were used to understand the characteristics of portal sites, and sub-items under indicators to analyse the portal sites were established. Nationwide portal sites were compared for rural tourism information. Also, German and Italian portal sites were compared as overseas cases. As a result, an internet portal site for information on mountain villages under the Korea Forest Service has to be improved as compared with other portal sites related to rural tourism. Firstly, it is necessary to modify and improve the category explaining mountain villages. Secondly, homepage for developing mountain villages has to be established and linked to potential visitors. Thirdly, portal sites for developing mountain villages subsequently have to be constructed under the site of the Korea Forest Service.

  • 인터넷에서 다수의 포털 사이트들이 치열한 경쟁을 벌이고 있지만, 일반 사용자들이 각 포털 사이트를 어떻게 인식하고 있는지에 대한 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구는 인터넷 사용자들의 포털 사이트들에 대한 인식을 알아보기 위하여, 대표적인 다섯 개의 사이트들(Daum, 네이버, 구글, 네이트, 그리고 MSN) 간의 유사성 분석을 시도하였다. 다차원척도법을 활용하여 포털 사이트들 간의 차이를 개념적인 거리로 측정함으로써 각 사이트들의 상대적인 포지셔닝을 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 포털 사이트 간 전략의 차이를 가시적으로 이해하는데 중요한 의미를 지닐 것으로 기대된다.

  • Internet portal sites have served customers for more than a decade in Korea. There have been several such sites have survived, succeeded and led the internet industry. What is the source of their competitiveness? We assumed that the network effect, which can vary dynamically, is an important factor; so we tried to build and analyze a system dynamics model on portal sites that represent their advertising business model. This model includes not only the network effect, but also customer's' expectations of the quality of portal sites, which also varies dynamically. As a result of our research, we can state that the network effect is important to stabilize and increase portal sites' quality, market share, income and cash flow. And we know that investment at a level above that which is merely required is necessary to preserve and stabilize their business.

  • As the Internet service is expanding rapidly, portal sites, a gateway tn the net, are attracting increasing attention these days. As the Internet service has expanded rapidly, so has the interest for portal sites,, which serve as a gateway to the net. Despite the tendency, however, research on a measure by which to evaluate the quality of portal sites or development of such measures has not been fully pursued. As online services, faced with profitability, are considering 'charge per view', the development of a set of quality evaluation measures for portal services will prove to become a valuable instrument in constructing competitive strategies that are vital for survival and growth of a firm. In that regard, this study aims to develop a set of evaluation measures for Internet portal sites by empirically investigating the most common offline measures for quality of services, SERVQUAL, retail SERVQUAL and other evaluation measures for IT-related online services. Moreover, the study offers the strategic implications of the defined measures.

  • Government uses the Internet technology to create electronic Government(e-Government). E-Government is an on-going project, and it represents a strong intention of Korean government to make effective and smooth communication between Korean government and its people. To achieve this purpose, government portal sites is one of projects of e-government, being a common gateway for users to find information and to communicate with the government concerning many matters/any matter. However, user's attitudes and behaviors explaining why they intend to use government portal sites is a scant. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to investigate empirically the determinants influencing users' intention to use government portal-sites. Starting with DeLone & McLean's Updated Information Success Model(2003), this study suggests three qualities(Information Quality, Systems Quality, and Service Quality) and two moderating effects(Ambiguity and Government Supports), which affect the perceived usefulness of government portal sites. Results show that the hypotheses were supported. The findings of the study suggest not only a new theoretical model for IS research, but also the important indicators of a successful usage of e-Government portal sites.

인터넷 포털사이트 서비스의 지속적 이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study of Factors Affecting the Continued Usage Intention of Internet Portal Sites)

  • Portal sites have been providing diverse services to attract new users and retain existing customers. Recently, they also added new services and increased quality of the services they provide to secure more customers. It is, however, not clear how people actually react to such activities. We wanted to understand the mechanism associated with users' continued usage intention of current Portal site. We assumed search, e-mail, information, community, e-commerce services as key services provided by most Portal sites and considered valuable by many customers. The quality of these services may directly affect users' continued usage intention. However, we can also assume that attractive alternatives and switching cost may have some influence on users' continued usage intention. Therefore, in this study, key variables pertaining to the quality of key services provided by Portal sites, attractive alternatives, and switching cost were examined to explain the dynamics of users' continued usage intention. An empirical study based on 891 survey responses showed the importance of the quality of key services for users' continued usage intention. Switching cost also demonstrated strong association with users' continued usage intention. However, attractive alternatives did not show a significant association with users' continued usage intention. We also found that the variable attractive alternatives moderated the relationship between the quality of search service and users' continued usage intention and the relationship between the quality of information service and users' continued usage intention. On the other hand, the variable switching cost showed a moderating effect on the relationship between the quality of e-mail service and users' continued usage intention and the relationship between the quality of community service and users' continued usage intention. This study implies that Portal sites need to make efforts not only to improve the quality of key services but also to consider attractiveness of other Portal sites' services and switching cost to secure more customers.

검색포털과 대학도서관 소장목록 연계방안에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Method for Linking Portal Sites and OPAC of University Libraries)

  • 인터넷 항해의 관문으로 검색포털의 의존도가 더욱 높아지고 있으며, 이러한 현상은 학술연구정보 시장에서도 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 공공지식정보의 대국민 접점으로 민간검색포털을 이용하는 시도가 지속적으로 나타나고 있으며, 그에 따라 많은 지식정보 생산 유통기관이 검색포털과 개방적 협력관계를 유지하고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 도서관 서비스의 검색포털 연계 서비스도 긍정적으로 검토해 볼 필요가 있으며, 특히 아직까지 대학의 사적 시설로 인식되고 있는 대학도서관 서비스의 연계방안을 모색하여, 지역사회와 연계된 공공시설로 활성화시킬 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 그러한 관점에서 검색포털과 대학도서관 소장목록의 연계방안을 모색한다. 이미 활성화되어 있는 해외 사례와 국내 검색포털 서비스의 현황을 종합적으로 분석하여 국내 상황에 적합한 검색포털과 대학 도서관 소장목록의 연계방안을 마련한다.

  • As Internet has been spreading and popularizing, lots of industries of he society are changing their industries to be compatible to the internet. In other works may companies are investing for Electronic Commerce to change their industries....so there are lots of company to introduce electronic commerce in his industrial fields and this kind of tendency is increasing now, because electronic commerce has a lot of advantages this kind of tendency has been trying in the shipping industrial fields... so we an find lots of marine electronic commerce sites in the internet by a searching engine. these sites insist their site is real portal in the shipping field.. But actually their sites just e-commericalize a field or some fields of shipping, So they cann't insist their site is a real portal site But in this kind of tendency, real shipping portal site will be made someday but not so long.. so we want to show contents and strategy real shipping portal site should possess by comparison and generalization with existing shipping portal sites.
