군산항 배후단지의 로지스틱스 전략 (A Study on the Logistics Strategies in Kunsan Port's Hinterland)

  • The purpose of this study is to consolidate the position of Kunsan Port as a Hub-port in Northeast asian region with the development of Kunsan port's hinterland. To accomplish the purpose, this paper firstly reviews the concept and function of port's hinterland literally. Next, We attempt to grasps the trends of port logistics service in this region, and to cope with this trends, study the previous researches of logistics platform(LP). Based upon the study, We find out the main factors of improving efficiency in port logistics, and build the model of logistics strategy with such factors as (1) Environment (2) Marketing (3) Logistics Chain and (4) Logistics community. And in order to applicate the model, we analyze the current situation of Kunsan port and port's hinterland. Finally, we provide the logistics strategies in Kunsan port's hinterland.

  • The world economy has came into unlimited competition with globalization since 1990. Opening markets to the world is in progress through the expansion of world free trade and internationalization of multinational enterprises. In the maritime transportation for world trade, shipping companies pursue "Hub & Spoke" strategy so a port which is not able to be located as a hub port is degraded as a feeder port. To attract shipping companies, it is necessary for existing ports to provide differentiated service. This paper devises marketing strategies for a competitive port after evaluating relation among the factors affecting port selection when a shipping company chooses a port of call. On the basis of determinants derived from existing researches, we study the relation as well as importance among the factors of port selection.

  • When comparing the port management type between the both countries, there are some differences at some aspects. And also Korea is to move forward a hub port and logistics center in Northeast Asia while Japan is to pursue providing the port logistics service necessary for the Japanese economy. Major findings and implications are as follows. First, Port authority system should be extended to Gwangyang and Pyeongtaek port step by step. Second, any port which did not introducing a port authority system should enhance cooperating with its own local administration. Third, a port marketing strategy must be established and implemented by a port authority.

  • The purpose of this paper is to increase the competitiveness of firms by establishment of green marketing strategy and its application to a new alternative energy development, ultimately contributing to the advancement of national economy. This study adopted an integrated approach to develop a strategic theory of 'Sun Tzu on the Art of War' that is one of the oldest military treaties and still applicable to today's management development. It applies to the empirical result from a new alternative energy development. For more qualitative improvement of this paper, it needs further detailed studies in both theory and practice in green marketing theory that is applicable to the new alternative energy development.

  • This paper deals with the problem of port administration and management of the port of Pusan. As the port of Pusan has been administrated by central government, Efficiency of port is worse than other foreign ports. These include the time-lagged port development, the inconsistent port planning with city planning, the insufficient long-term port development planning, the various operating authorities and the lack of port sales activities etc. To solve the above-mentioned problems, other superior ports are compared. The port Authority is proposed. It takes part in the long term port planning and the planning of financial provision. It designates and supervises the port manager, measures the result of port management and arranges the proposals. The port ownership transfer from Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries to Pusan Metropolitan. The port management is to be taken by the port authority and the port operation is to be performed by private companies. As a result, it is expected that port productivity increases and marketing power strengthens.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the most approriate international marketing strategy of Korean shipping firms for Uruguy Round expected to be agreed among GATT members in 1993. In literature sur-vey, the service marketing philosophy was reviewed to clarify the functions and roles of marketing concept in setting up the international marketing strategies for shipping firms. The marketing concepts are characterized as follows ; 1) production-oriented stage, 2) sales-oriented stage, 3) marketing-oriented stage in the order of historical development. An comparative analysis was car-ried out to examine the differences in marketing strategies among Korean shipping firms and U.K. ship-ping firms.

평택항 발전을 위한 대중국 수출입화물의 기종점(O/D) 연구 (A Study on the Origin/Destination of Trading Cargoes with China for the Pyungtaek Port's Development)

  • The container throughput of China, after the joining in the WTO, has begun to increase notably. As a result, China is busy building new ports continuously. In accordance with China's situation Korea promote the development plans of ports and marketing strategy to attract the increasing cargo traffics with China, including transhipment cargoes. To build the competition strategy and the panning port for trading cargoes with China, an analysis on origin/destination is necessary. The cargo volume from/to the particular port(Korea/China) and origin/destination of traffic are important factors in the requirement for the port development. Therefore, in the era that trading with China is rapidly increasing, this study is performed to analyze the port's usage of transporting the cargos and the origin/destination of trading cargoes with china. Also this paper suggests to the competitive strategies of Pyungtaek Port to attract cargoes particularly from/to China.

Fuzzy-AHP를 이용한 광양항과 중국항만간의 물류네트워크 분석 (Analysis of Logistics Network between Gwangyang Port and China Ports using Fuzzy-AHP)

  • 광양항은 물동량 둔화, 항만공사로의 전환, 터미널 운영사 감소 등 대내 외적으로 많은 변화에 직면하고 있다. 본 연구는 광양항과 중국항만간의 물류네트워크를 강화하기 위한 방안으로 광양항이 구축해야 할 물류네트워크의 방향을 설정하기 위한 것이다. 따라서, 본 연구는 물류네트워크 분석을 목표로 설정하고 광양항을 중심으로 공공기관, 해운선사, 항만운영사의 물류전문가를 대상으로 의견을 수집하여 1차적으로 측정지표를 추출하고 물류전문가의 자문을 얻어 3개의 측정영역을 분류하였다. 선정된 측적영역과 측정지표를 대상으로 2차 설문조사를 실시하여 Fuzzy-AHP 분석법을 적용하여 실증분석 하였다. 분석 결과, 측정영역에 대한 중요도 평가에서는 마케팅 측면(38.7%)이 가장 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 측정지표에 대한 분석 결과에 따르면 하드웨어 측면은 광양항과 중국항만간의 정기항로 확충(45.2%), 소프트웨어 측면은 정부의 정책 지원(46.4%), 마케팅 측면은 고부가 가치 환적화물 유치(36.4%)가 상대적으로 가장 중요도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 환산가중치를 반영한 전체 우선순위에서는 광양항과 중국항만간의 정기항로 확충(15.9%)이 가장 중요한 것으로 분석되었다.

해운 서비스 질의 결정요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the determinants of Shipping Service Quality)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the nature of the relationship between several factors representing shipping service quality enumerated in the service marketing literature and the adaptability to the marketing strategy of container shipping company. An empirical study was carried out to examine not only the determinants of shipping service quality but also its implications to the marketing strategy. The data investigation the determinants of shipping service quality were collected from 35 UK container shipping companies. Factor analysis was carried out to analyze the data.
