  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the concentration effect of Busan container terminal. Productivity and efficiency have played key role to attract more cargo to a port because these are important factors to select liners’ calling port in vessel deployment. It means that productivity directly links with the liners’ vessel operation cost. The main results of this paper are as follows: the port concentration by terminal integration can improve the port's external image with recovering tariff competitiveness and also facilitate economic effect of size through efficient management.

  • This paper was studied in two ways with respect to the information received from the video signal separation technique of PPI Scop radar device. The proposed technique consists in generating an image signal through the video signal separation and synthesis, symbol generation, the residual image signal generation process. This technology can greatly improve the operating convenience with improved ease of discrimination, screen readability for the operator in analyzing radar information. The first proposed method was constructed for high-speed FPGA-based information processing systems for high speed operation stability of the system. The second proposed method was implemented intelligent algorithms and a software algorithm function curve associated resources.This was required to meet the constraints on the radar information, analysis system. Existing radar systems have not the frame data analysis unit image. However, this study was designed to image data stored in the frame-by-frame analysis of radar images with express information MPEG4 video. Key research content is to highlight the key observations expresses the target, the object-specific monitoring information to the positive image processing algorithm and the function curve delays. For high-definition video, high-speed to implement data analysis and expressing a variety of information was applied to the ARM Processor Support in Pro ASIC3.

  • This paper describes the system for evaluating the sea wave informations such as wave direction and wave length in real time, by using image data obtained from the marine X-band radar. We proposed here a method for automatic selection of the partial image data without the user's individual selection at the radar. We also discussed that the wave direction could be obtained by a 2-dimensional discrete Fourier transform algorithm. We carried some evaluation works on the algorithm through computer simulation. The obtained thirteen radar image data under several sea surface conditions were analyzed by the method described and the result was presented.

  • The presence-feeling enhancement method of a Virtual Reality (VR) simulator is proposed in this paper. The method is to increase realistic human feeling by mutual synergy effect between stereoscopic image and three-dimensional (3D) sound. In order to test the influence of mutual synergy effect, subject assessment with five university students is carried out using VR ship simulator having PC monitor and LCD shutter glasses. It I found that the averaged scale value of image naturalness is increased by 0.5 from $I_{nat}$=3.1 to 3.6 when blending stereoscopic images with 3D sound, and the averaged score value of sound localization is increased by 10% from $A_{SL}$ = 70~75% to $A_{SL}$ = 80~85% when blending 3D sound with stereoscopic image. In conclusion, the results show that the proposed method is able to increase the presence feeling in the VR simulator.

  • ARPA(Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) is a device to calculate CPA(closest point of approach)/TCPA(time of CPA), true course and speed of targets by vector operation of relative courses and speeds. The purpose of this study is to develop target acquisition and tracking technology for ARPA Radar implementation. After examining the previous studies, applicable algorithms and technologies were developed to be combined and basic ARPA functions were developed as a result. As for main research contents, the sequential image processing technology such as combination of grayscale conversion, gaussian smoothing, binary image conversion and labeling was deviced to achieve a proper target acquisition, and the NNS(Nearest Neighbor Search) algorithm was appllied to identify which target came from the previous image and finally Kalman Filter was used to calculate true course and speed of targets as an analysis of target behavior. Also all technologies stated above were implemented as a SW program and installed onboard, and verified the basic ARPA functions to be operable in practical use through onboard test.

  • 본고에서는 이중입출력 메모리(Dual-Port RAM)를 이용한 영상 입력장치(Image Memory)의 설계 및 그 제어 신호 발생기에 대하여 논하였다. 이중 입출력 메모리 소자인 TMS4161은 기존의 표준 64K x 1DRAM Port와 256bit의 내부적 Shift REgister와 연결된 Serial Port가 있어서, 실시간 영상 처리 및 그래픽 용으로 사용하기에 적합하나, 그 사용에 있어서 가장 어려운 문제로 제안된 주소 신호 발생기 및 요구중재기에 대한 해결 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 서로 독립적인 두개의 입출력 장치가 있다는 장점을 이용하여 하드웨어에 의한 실시간 처리도 가능한 구조로 쉽게 확장할 수 있어서 소프트웨어에 의한 실시간 처리로 가능하리라 사료된다. 앞으로는 512x512x8의 영상 메모리 구조 뿐만 아니라 1024x1024x8의 영상메모리 구조에 대하여 더욱 연구할 필요가 있다고 본다.

A study on efficient gate system based RFID at the container terminal

  • It is a world trend to construct large terminal and develop automated container terminal to attract Super Post-Panamax and provide service which is based on differentiation. In fact, there is insufficient research for automatization of terminal gate since the automatization of current constructed container terminal is only focused on increasing productivity and unmanned system through the automatization of quay, yard, etc. In this paper, we have investigated advantage/disadvantage of existing gate operation systems and compared each gate operation system in the aspect of raising terminal image and the productivity. For the specific study, we have used data from actual terminal gate operation and RFID model business sponsored by MOMAF (Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries). As a result, this paper carried out an efficient gate operation system and it has been expected that it will be performed as groundwork of automated gate operation system which is for design of container terminal and improvement of gate operation system.

  • An embedded system has been applied to many fields including households and industrial sites. The embedded system is implemented fur image tracking in security area. This system supports a fixed IP far the reliable server operation on TCP/IP networks. A real time video image on the is analyzed to detect a certain invader who jumped into the observed area. The digital camera is connected at the USB host port of the target board. The video images from the video camera is continuously analyzed and displayed at the Linux web-server. The moving vector of the invaders on the continuous image frames is calculated and then it sends the calculated pan/tilt movement. That used Block matching algorithm and edge detection algorithm for past speed. And the displacement vector is used at pan/tilt motor control through RS232 serial cable. The experiment result showed tracking performance by the moving part speed of 10 to 150 pixels/sec.

  • Automatic inspection system software for display image characteristic of CRT is developed. There are two major contributions of this software development. One is that the data from measuring equipments which was usually collected manually is automatically collected through RS-232C port and is saved in computer, then, trend analysis graph and final reports are generated. The other is that evauation of characteristic of electron gun was automatically processed by CCD camera and image processing technique. The system is developed under MS-Windows environment utilizing Borland C++4.0 Compiler and DT 3852-8 image processor board. This system can save the time and man power to measure and to anayze the image characteristics relative to current method.
