The rapid growth of economy in china leads to concentrate throughput volume of World to North East Asia. Ports in North East Asia have to cope with rapid changes in environments. In order for a port to compete in the global market, it must provide proper productivity and promptly services of port. The system of information hold a key in port-logistic industries. Most ports make every effort to set up and operate the system of Information. Busan port already set up the system of port-logistic information such as Port-MIS, KROIS. But it is not activated yet because of problems of documentation duplication and system connectivity and so on. The purpose of this research is to make a model which can activate the system of port-logistic information. In addition, We suggest a definite and feasible model by group and types of port-logistic industry.

The main purpose of this paper is to present a competitive strategies for the Logistics Warehouses of Busan New Port. Based on the survey conducted by the Logistics Warehouses of Busan New Port experts, the categorized factors were compared using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to assess the importance of each factor and sub-factor in the case of the Logistics Warehouses of Busan New Port. This is a quantitative study that conducted a face-to-face survey on employees and related public officers at the Logistics Warehouses of Busan New Port. The final sample size consisted of 49 people, including workers at the Busan New Port logistics warehouses and related local customs officers. The data were coded in Microsoft Excel and the imprtance of SWOT factors was derived using "the I make it" program developed by Decision Sience, and it was analyzed using the AHP method. This study quantifies the importance of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats factor of the Logistics Warehouses of Busan New Port and presents strategic guidelines for the key factors for the development of the Logistics Warehouses of Busan New Port. This research provides strategic guidelines to Korea for the development of the Logistics Industries, and development of the Logistics Warehouses of Busan New Port.

Since 1996, the document exchange method by EDI has been introduced in port and logistics industries in Korea to enhance the declaration activities to the Pusan Port Authority and Customs. In spite of these efforts, users such as shipping companies, shipping agents, and freight forwarders have complained the inconvenience of using EDI systems. The major reasons can be summarized as follows: repetitional EDI transfer, too much transfer time, inconvenient EDI software, and problems on message receiving confirmation. Furthermore, EDI has been used only for transmitting messages. To solve these problems, this study has adopted the integration system by applying the concept of SCM to logistics system by XML/EDl. In the view of SCM, the existing EDI has some problems because its role is only to transmit the messages. This paper is to suggest how current EDI systems in Port and logistics sector has to be chanced by Introducing SCM. The integration system gives us such advantages as accuracy of cargo data, integration of processes among firms, and keeping the trace of cargo.

This study probes the necessity of establishing a logistic free zone in Port of Busan. It considers the economic effects of establishing the logistic free zone of Busan Port, and suggests policy prescriptions for introducing the free zone system and improving the logistics functions of Busan Port. Using input-output table data, the regression analysis was able to provide a quantitative prediction on effects of making the Busan Port a tariff-free zone. Influence for the regional economy due to the enforcement of the free zone system this research found that a strong positive effects should be expected on the Busan regional economy once the logistic free zone would be set up at the Port of Busan. The positive economic effects on Busan regional industries might be further strengthened if the value-added logistics function of Busan Port could be supplemented by linking to the hinterland of Busan Port.

This study derived determinants of 'Decent Work' in the logistics industry and aims to use the analysis results as basic data for policymaking related to labor in the logistics industry and to prepare policies suitable for the characteristics of the logistics industry. As the dependent variable of the model, the Decent Job derived from the first study was used, and the target model was derived from panel data of whole industries to understand the unique characteristics of logistics industry jobs and applied to the logistics industry model. This study found that in the logistics industry, developing the expertise of the logistics industry through "vocational training" compared to whole industries is an important factor rather than raising the "academic level" through the regular curriculum. This seems to reflect the characteristics of the logistics industry as specialized vocational training is required in the case of "railway transportation", "inland water and port transportation", and "air cargo transportation", which have a high proportion of decent job workers among the detailed logistics industries analyzed in this study. Therefore, developing job expertise through additional manpower training programs such as vocational training as well as academic fields learned through regular curriculum is a very important factor in engaging in "Decent Work" not only in the logistics industry but also in other industries.

In order to deal with the increase of container cargo traffic volume more effectively, the ministry of maritime affairs & fisheries has a long-term plan to develop Gaduk Island. According to the plan, the New Port will handle 4,600,00TEUs annually. The completion of the project will enable the port of Busan to perform as a hub port in the Asia Pacific era of the year 2000 with sufficient port facilities, and this will lead to a new era of oceanic Korea. With the advent of the Pacific Rim Era of the year 2000, Busan metropolis has set a strategic development plan to establish the area as the center of logistics in the noreast Asian region as well as to become the stronghold of economic activity in Korea's southeast region. To this end, industries that will open the doors to a marine era and a new industrial complex focused on logistics are planned in the West Busan area where Gimhae International Airport and the Busan New Port meet. This paper aims to find out the functional relation and complement between the Busan New Port Distri-Park handing container cargo traffic volume and the West Busan Logistics Pa가 handling an air cargo and railroad goods. Especially, paper aims to suggest the West Busan Logistics Park as the efficient management of the container cargo traffic volume due to the Development Plan of the Busan New Port.

By according to increase the research for autonomous vehicle in automobile industries, the efficient of autonomous cargo truck instead of conventional driver cargo truck will be analyzed in logistics areas. The inland transportation has been serious problem such as traffic accident, traffic congestion in downtown, air pollution, noise and etc. even if it have a great effect to logistics industries. Especially there have to be improved its transportation schedule and sleepy driving in night which induced heavy accident in highway. In this study, the effectiveness of autonomous cargo truck will be analysed by considering the logistics cost including social effects.

As port functions change to act as an economic catalyst and take on a central position in industries engaged in international trade, port hinterland has become a significant component in international shipping. The success of port hinterland as a strategic base of logistic activities critically depends on location selection factor for international distribution center that links elements of global supply chain management. By examining multi-measurement items empirically, this paper analyzed location selection factor for international logistics distribution center in port hinterland, and evaluated Busan new port hinterland from the user's perspective. Employing exploratory factor analysis, the results revealed that the model structured around five factors incorporating geo-location and accessibility, availability, political supports, cost factors, and quality of business environment is valid and reliable in the context of the location selection factors for logistics distribution center in the context of port hinterland operations. The evaluation of Busan new port hinterland provides useful insights for strategic improvement to accommodate the users' expectation. Further, the model offers both a descriptive and diagnostic strategic management tool for port hinterland development and operations, to guide future improvement.

With swelling of Chinese Economic scale, the competitive environment is swinging over the north-east Asia countries, Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan. As the result of this circumstance, each countries in this area has been reformed their industries. According to the expanding in ocean logistic. The trends of competition on Hub port is looking forward much more severe year after year to preoccupy in logistics competitive within this Area. On the other hand, considering competitive environment & swelling of Chinese Economic scale, the structural reforms are imperative in korea. Korea have to convert the traditional sects into new high added value sects. In these trends, provincial government also should look for the plan for reinforcement of Regional competitiveness. The focus of this study is to look for the reinforcement methods on regional competitiveness of Gyeongnam Provincial Government. First, competitive industries in Gyeongnam, and second, Masan Free Trade Zone will be surveyed from data. Finally, the effects of New Hub port developing in Pusan-Jinhae will be discussed.

In spite of these efforts, users such as shipping companies, shipping agents, and freight forwarders have complained the inconvenience of using EDI systems. The major reasons can be summarized as too much transfer time, inconvenient EDI software, and problems on message receiving confirmation. To solve these problems, although we have developed an Internet based EDI system for Port-MIS users, we have failed its implementation practically for the short of Governments readiness, the complexity of systems and separation with in-house systems. So, the writers have changed the direction of research to applying the concept of SCM to logistics system by XML/EDI. In this Paper, the prototype systems to integrate processes of shipping company, Port Authority, Customs and stevedoring company will be suggested. The new method of EDI gives us advantages, which are the accuracy of cargo data and integration of processes among firms and keeping the service of cargo trace.
