  • This study is on the method of the detection for flame and series arc which can be happened at poor contact point added a vibration in part of contact point of low voltage line. In general, the causes of electric fire are over current, short circuit, poor contact, ect. The over-current or short circuit among those causes is detected by measuring a instant current value, but poor contact is difficult to detect by measuring a excessive value of the voltage and current and a distortion of waveforms. And therefore, in this paper, it is studied on the optimal technique of the arc judgement using fuzzy logic and MDET (Multi Dimension Estimation Technique). And it carries out the simulation for arc detection and the experiment for controller and load test. In result, the controller and detection algoristhm, is classified with normal wave and abnormal arc wave without relation with each loads and so the controller can detect a series arc successfully.

  • We investigated heat properties of connection terminal in residual current protective devices(RCD) according to contact pressure for low voltage appliance. And we analyzed voltage and current waveform and oxide propagation when the poor-contact happened between terminal and wire. When contact pressure between terminal and connection wire was not applied, the heat was generated and an oxide was formed on the surface of the wire. The temperature of the insulation surrounding terminal was ascended sharply by poor-contact, micro-sparks and continuous arc sound happened in interior terminal. When the poor-contact by vibration occurred inner conductor of terminal and wire, an oxide was propagated on contact surface and the temperature was increased at 869℃. Thus, we found that the risk of electrical disaster is high in terminal and connection wire parts.

  • This study is intended to identify issues on the basis of investigating the actual state of laboratory environment and outlet circuit, and derive end states by expressing sequences from the initiating event of disaster to accident in leakage current, poor contact and overload through ETA(event tree analysis). To this end, this study investigated the actual state of electric equipment of laboratory at universities in all parts of country. And it is shown that most of them are failure in electric work and user negligence in the investigation of actual state. It is found that there is earth fault and defect in wire diameter in the failure of electric work and the problem of partial disconnection due to wire bundling and poor contact in user negligence. Outlet-related component, failure rate and initiating events are composed of a total of 41 initiating events, i.e., 30 internal initiating events and 11 external initiating events. And end states are composed of a total of 15 parts, i.e., 3 electric power parts and 12 safety parts. Earthing class 3 is the most important safety device against leakage current (initiating event). And in case of poor contact, it is necessary for manager to check thoroughly because there is no safety device. In case of overload/overcurrent, when high-capacity equipment is connected, a molded case circuit breaker, safety device, worked. However, in most cases, it is verified that this doesn't work. This study can be utilized as electric equipment safety guide for laboratory safety manager and managers.

  • As industry is progressing and standards of living are improved, the demand of electrical energy is expected to grow 8-9% annually. Therefore, the importance of electrical fire prevention technology with the ability of the power supply is being emphasized. According to the statistics of fire in Korea, fire occurred about 45,000 cases annually, and electrical fire possessed about 20%. The electrical fire by poor contact has increased gradually, can be connected as great fire to secondarily induce short circuit and earth fault. Then analysis of heating causes of electrical connections between copper and copper alloy is needed. Also, detection and analysis algorithm of oxide at copper alloy are necessary. In this research, in order to understand the characteristics of oxide growth with rising resistance and heating, it is demonstrated that the oxide at electrical connections can cause fire due to arcing.

  • In the galvanizing coating process, the effects of the silicon content on the coatability and wettability of molten zinc were investigated on Dual-Phase High Strength Steels (DP-HSS) with various Si contents using the galvanizing simulator and dynamic reactive wetting systems. DP-HSS showed good coatability and a well-developed inhibition layer in the range of Si content below 0.5 wt%. Good coatability was the results of the mixed oxide $Mn_{2}SiO_{4}$, being formed by the selective oxidation on the surface, with a low contact angle in molten zinc and a large fraction of oxide free surface that provided a sufficient site for the molten zinc to wet and react with the substrate. On the other hand, with more than 0.5 wt%, DP-HSS exhibited poor coatability and an irregularly developed inhibition layer. The poor coatability was due to the poor wettability that resulted from the development of network-type layers of amorphous ${SiO}_{2}$, leading to a high contact angle in molten zinc, on the surface.

  • The cause of poor visual acuity was connected to the damage by the ocular trauma related. Especially the most cause of visual disorder was identified as irregular pupil by ocular damage. Therefore most patients stopped the wearing of the contact lens immediately by the visual decrease effects from irregular pupil disorder. But we had suggested that the contact lens wear was a very intensive visual therapy. We had identified the visual recover from several tests using the contact lens treatment.

  • It is hard to employ the carbon materials or the lithium metal foil for the anode of lithium sulfur batteries because of the poor passivation in ether-based electrolytes and the formation of lithium dendrites, respectively. Herein, we investigated the electrochemical characteristics of lithium sulfur batteries with lithiated silicon anode in the liquid electrolytes based on ether solvents. The silicon anodes were lithiated by direct contact with lithium foil in a 1M lithium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl) imide (LiTFSI) solution in 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) and 1,3-dioxolane (DOL) at a volume ratio of 1:1. They were readily lithiated up to ~40% of their theoretical capacity with a 30 min contact time. In particular, the carbon mesh reported in our previous work was employed in order to maximize the performance by capturing the dissolved polysulfide in sulfur cathode. The reversible specific capacity of the lithiated silicon-sulfur batteries with carbon mesh was 1,129 mAh/g during the first cycle, and was maintained at 297 mAh/g even after 50 cycles at 0.2 C, without any problems of poor passivation or lithium dendrite formation.

  • This study was conducted (i) to recommend the high-scored education method as a adaptable method, and (ii) to find the most influential factor among the three acceptability components (feasibility factor, stimulation factor and reliability factor) to urban or rural residents. The accept-ability score of each health education method currently existing in urban and rural area was estimated. A total of 257 households in Guro 6-dong, Seoul, and 233 households in Jeomdong-myeon, Yeoju-gun, were sampled by interview survey using questionnaire. The four types of health education methods used in this study are; printed matter method, mailing service method. personal contact method, and group contact method. The major findings obtained from this research are as follows; 1) In urban area, the highest-scored in terms of acceptability is the personal contact method, followed by the mailing service, the printed matter, and the group contact. The mailing service method is found to be effective especially for the intelligent group people. 2) In rural area, the highest-scored in terms of acceptability is also the personal contact method, followed by the group contact, and printed matter method. In general, the group contact method is effective toward both urban-poor and rural housewives (especially in stimulation factor). To improve the health consciousness of the residents, there arises the need for the existing education program into better organized and diversified one and for educating health-educators by providing in-depth health knowledge.

  • The purpose of solderability assessment is to predict the effectiveness of soldering process. It is important for companies pursuing zero defects manufacturing because poor solderability is the major cause of two third of soldering failures. The most versatile solderability method is wetting balance method. However, there exist so many indices for wettability in the wetting balance test e.g. time to reach 2/3 values of maximum wetting force, tine to reach zero wetting force, maximum withdrawal force. In this study, three solderability assessment methods, which were the maximum withdrawal force, the wetting balance and the dynamic contact angle (DCA), were evaluated by comparing each other. The wetting balance technique measures the solderability by recording the forces exerted from the specimen after being dipped into the molten solder. Then the force at equilibrium state can be used to calculate a contact angle, which is known as static contact angles. The DCA measures contact angles occurred during advancing and withdrawing of the specimen and the contact angles are known as dynamic contact angles. The maximum withdrawal force uses the maximum force during withdrawal movement and then a contact angle can be calculated. In this study, the maximum withdrawal force method was found to be an objective index for measuring the solderability and the experiment results indicated good agreement between the maximum withdrawal force and the wetting balance method.
