PVA를 이용한 Solution-Polymerzation 합성법에 의한 Mullite, Cordierite 세라믹스의 합성 (A Synthesis of Mullite and Cordierite Ceramics by Solution-Polymerzation Route Based on PVA)

  • 안정한 산화물 세라믹스 재료로서 mullite와 cordierite는 우수한 열적, 화학적 특성 때문에 구조재료에서부터 전자재료에 이르는 폭넓은 용도에 사용되어지고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고, mullite는 천연에서는 산출되지 않기 때문에 합성에 의해서만 제조되고 있다. 또한, cordierite는 합성온도폭이 좁아 고순도의 미립 분말을 제조하기 어려운 재료이다. Mullite 역시 고상반응법 등의 합성법으로는 균질한 재료로의 합성이 어렵다. 그렇기 때문에 sol-gel법 등의 다양한 합성법에 의해 이들 재료에 관한 연구가 계속되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내의 원료를 이용하여 sol-gel법에서와 같은 고순도의 미립의 분말을 좀 더 낮은 온도에서 합성이 가능하며, 상대적으로 저가의 원료를 사용함으로서 경제적인 방법인 PVA를 polymer carrier로서 이용한 solution-polymerzation 합성법에 의해 mullite와 cordierite를 합성하였다. 그 결과, mullite, cordierite는 각각 120$0^{\circ}C$, 125$0^{\circ}C$에서 단일의 결정상이 생성되었으며 비표면적 20$m^2$/g 이상의 미립의 분말이 생성됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Urea/formaldehyde(UF) and melamine/formaldehyde(MF) microcapsules containing perfume and 2,4,4'-trichlroro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether(DP) were prepared by the in-situ polymerization using urea and formaldehyde. Effects of dispersing agent, accelerating agent, formaldehyde, agitation speed on the mean diameter of microcapsules were investigated. The diameter of microcapsule was decreased with increasing dispersing agent concentration. A slight increase in the diameter was observed when the concentration of film forming material was increased. The diameter of microcapsule was decreased with increasing agitation speed up to 8,000rpm. The mean diameters of UF microcapsule prepared at 8,000rpm are about 3$\mu$m. A slight decrease in the diameter was observed when the concentration of resorcinol was increased.

Ring Furnace를 이용한 Acrylic Resin의 온성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heat-Curing of Acrylic Resin using Ring Furnace)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of curing time and curing temperature on the hear - Curing of acrylic resin using ring furnace. Specimens were fabricated from 2 kinds(Laboron, Bertex) heat-cured resin. Total 200 samples were divided into 4 groups(70$^{\circ}C$, 100$^{\circ}C$, 13$^{\circ}C$, 150$^{\circ}C$) and each group was divided into 5 small groups(30 min., 45min., 60min., 75min., 90min.). A microscope(Olympus Coll Co. Japan) was used to examine a randomly selected central zone, midzone and surface for each complete specimen. The results of the experiment were as follows : 1. To obtain non-polymerzation, cure the resin for 30 minutes at 70$^{\circ}C$ and 100$^{\circ}C$ in a ring furnace. 2. To obtain with porosity, cure the resin for 45 minutes, 60 minutes and 75 mintes at 70$^{\circ}C$ and for 90 minutes at 150$^{\circ}C$ in ring furnace. Porosity appears in Laboron for 30 minutes, 45 minutes at 150$^{\circ}C$ in a ring furnace. 3. Every other specimens connot get a sight of special problem with makes eye in the made surface.

Chemical Characteristics and Ethanol Fermentation of the Cellulose Component in Autohydrolyzed Bagasse

  • The chemical characteristics, enzymatic saccharification, and ethanol fermentation of autohydrolyzed lignocellulosic material that was exposed to steam explosion were investigated using bagasse as the sample. The effects of the steam explosion on the change in pH, organic acids production, degrees of polymerization and crystallinity of the cellulose component, and the amount of extractive components in the autohydrolyzated bagasse were examined. The steam explosion decreased the degree of polymerzation up to about 700 but increased the degree of crystallinity and the micelle width of the cellulose component in the bagasse. The steam explosion, at a pressure of 2.55 MPa for 3 mins, was the most effective for the delignification of bagasse. 40 g/L of glucose and 20 g/L of xylose were produced from 100 g/L of the autohydrolyzed bagasse by the enzymatic saccharification using mixed cellulases, acucelase and meicelase. The maximum ethanol concentration, 20 g/L, was obtained from the enzymatic hydrolyzate of 100 g/L of the autohydrolyzed bagasse by the ethanol fermentation using Pichia stipitis CBS 5773; the ethanol yield from sugars was 0.33 g/g sugars.

Study of Nano-scale Fullerene (C60) Clusters Formed in Micro-sized Droplet by UV Irradiation

  • We discovered the formation of C60 aggregates in solution by means of photoluminescence spectroscopic study on C60 in solutions. From the in-depth investigation of temperature dependence of the luminescence of C60 in toluene, benzene and CS2 solutions, we reported that the C60 aggregates are formed during cooling at the freezing temperature of these solvents. Furthermore, the C60 aggregates can be changed to stable structures by irradiating with UV pulse-laser (Nd:YAG laser, 355nm). As a consequence, we could obtain nano-scale photo-polymerized C60 clusters, which appear as round-shaped nano- scale particles in high resolution transmission electron-microscopy (HRTEM) images. However, the yield of the nano-scale C60 clusters obtained by this method is too small. So we designed and developed a system to obtain C60 cluster of macroscopic quantity by using ultrasonic nebulizer. In this system, C60 solution was vaporized to several micro-sized droplets in vacuum, resulting in the formation of C60 aggregates by evaporating solvent (toluene). The system was invented to produce nano-scale carbon clusters by the irradiation of UV light upon C60 aggregates in vacuum. We have characterized the products, C60 cluster, obtained from the system by using UV absorption spectra and HPLC spectra. Although the products have a possibility of inclusion various forms of C60 cluster, results support that the product formed from the system by using vaporizer method establishes a new method to obtain C60 cluster in macroscopic quantity. In the presentation, the details of the system and the results of characterization are reported.

바나나 과실 함유탄닌이 소화효소 작용에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Condensed Tannins Prepared from Banana (Musa Sapientum L.) fruit on Digestive Enzyme In vitro)

  • 바나나 과실을 시중에서 구입하여 미숙과실과 황숙과실로 구별하고 이것들을 과육부분과 과피부분으로 나누어서 동결건조 및 열풍건조시켜 실험 시료로서 사용하였다. 탄닌 함량을 분석한 결과 황숙과실 보다도 미숙과실에서 높았으며, 과육보다는 과피에서 열풍건조 보다는 동결건조시킨 시료에서 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 탄닌의 분획은 Sephadex LH-20칼럼을 사용하여 분획하였다. 바나나 과실에 함유하고 있는 탄닌은 prodelphinidin, procyanidin을 구성 단위로 하는 proanthocyanidin류의 축합성 탄닌으로 이러한 탄닌은 소화효소인 trypsin(EC 3. 1. 1. 3), ${\alpha}-amylase$(EC 3. 4. 21. 4), lipase(EC 3. 2. 1. 1)에 대하여 in vitro에 있어서 저해작용을 가지고 있는 것이 확인되었으며 또한 탄닌은 중합도가 높을수록 저해율이 높다는 것이 확인되었다.

광중합형 레진에서 초기 저광도 광중합 및 연마 시기가 변연부 미세 누출에 미치는 영향 (INFLUENCE OF LOW-INTENSITY CURING AND POLISHING PERIOD ON MARGINAL LEAKAGE OF COMPOSITE)

  • For more esthetic treatments the use of composite in molar areas are increasing. But polymerzation shrinkage that cause marginal leakage and cuspal deflection has been the problems of composites. The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of low intensity curing and polishing period on marginal leakage. Cavities were prepared on the buccal or lingual surface of forty five sound extracted human teeth and etching, application of bonding agent and filling of composite was done. Group 1 was light cured at intensity of 600$mW/cm^2$ for 41 seconds and polished. Group 2 was light cured at intensity of 300$mW/cm^2$ for 2 seconds and polished and after polishing it was light cured for 40 seconds at 600$mW/cm^2$. Group 3 was light cured at intensity of 300$mW/cm^2$ for 2 seconds and waited for 5 minutes and after curing at 600$mW/cm^2$ for 40 seconds polishing was done. The specimens were thermocycled at $5^{\circ}C$ and $55^{\circ}C$ for 1000 cycles and immersed in 2% methylene blue solution for 24 hours. Composite-tooth interface was examined under stereobinocular microscope for dye penetration. The results were as follows : 1. Group which were cured at low intensity and polished after curing at high intensity showed less marginal leakage than group which were cured at high intensity for 41 seconds(p<0.05). 2. Marginal leakage between group which were cured at low intensity and polished immediately and group which were cured at high intensity for 41 second were not significantly different. Light curing at low intensity can reduce marginal leakage but polishing immediately after curing at low intensity for short time can affect marginal leakage.

음이온 중합법 기반 P3HT-b-P4VP 블록공중합체 정밀 합성 및 이의 용매에 따른 물리적 특성 변화 연구 (Synthesis of P3HT-b-P4VP via Anionic Polymerization and its Physical Properties in Various Solvents)

  • 기존의 문헌에서는 poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT) 기반의 블록공중합체를 합성하기 위해서 최소 4-5단계 이상의 복잡한 공정을 거쳐야 했고, 일반적으로 분자량, 분자량 분포 및 블록의 비를 조절하기 위해서 단량체 전환율 및 반응 시간을 계속해서 모니터링 해야 한다. 또한, 여러 가지 이유에서 합성 스케일이 수 mg에서 수 g으로 제한되었다. 본 연구에서는 음이온 중합법을 이용해서 P3HT-b-poly(4-vinylprydine) (P4VP)를 오직 2단계로 중합할 수 있었으며, 중합 스케일은 수십 g 정도가 가능하였다. 반응 도중 단량체 전환율 및 농도를 계속 모니터링 해야 하는 번거로움 없이 초기 단량체 당량비만으로 블록 비율과 분자량 분포를 정밀 조절할 수 있었다. 만들어진 P3HT-b-P4VP를 친수성 및 소수성 용매에 녹여 분자 거동을 살펴보았다. 용액의 특성이 용액 속 미셸 구조와 필름 코팅 후 모포로지에 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인했다. P3HT-b-P4VP의 물리적 특성은 적외선-자외선 분광분석법, 원자힘현미경 및 자외선 광전자 분광분석법을 이용하여 평가하였다.

광중합 복합레진에 대한 가열처리 피로내성 및 중합수축에 미치는 영향 (A Fatigue Toughness and Polymerization Shrinkage of Post-cure Heat Treated Composite Resins)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate whether the fatigue toughness of visible light cured composite resins could be improved and how much percentage of polymerzation shrinkage could be affected by additional heat treatment. 7 materials were investigated for this study: P-50, Lite-fil CR inlay, Pekafil, Clearfil CR inlay, Clearfil photo posterior, Z -100 and Progress. Diametral tensile strengths and linear shrinkages of composite resins were taken under visible light cured and additional post-cure heated condition and compared each other. A fatigue toughness of above materials was evaluated by measuring diametral tensile strength after they were repeatedly loaded with 120kgf/$cm^2$ up to 3000 cycles. The results obtained were as follows : 1. When composite resins were cured just by visible light, Lite fil CR inlay, Z -100 and Progress showed respectively higher diametral tensile strength than the other materials. Clearfil CR inlay, Clearfil photo posterior and Progress exhibited strong fatigue toughness compared to P-50 and Pekafil. 2. Post-cure heat treated composite resins had higher diametral tensile strengths than visible light cured composite resins at fatigue toughness test as well as no fatigue toughness test. 3. When Composite resins were additionally polymerized by post-cure heat treatment, P-50 showed weak fatigue toughness, on the contrary, Clearfil CR inlay, Z-100, Progress showed strong one. 4. When composite resins were cured just by visible light, percentage of polymerization linear shrinkage was the lowerest in Clearfil CR inlay, followed by, in ascending order, Clearfil photo posterior, Lite-fil CR inlay, Progress, Pekafil, P-50, and Z-100. In the case of post- cure heat treated composite resins, percentage of linear shrinkage was the lowest in Clearfil photo posterior, followed by, in ascending order, Lite-til CR inlay, Clearfil CR inlay, Progress, P-50, Pekafil and Z-100. 5. Percentage of polymerization linear shrinkage was greater in the post-cure heat treated composite resins than in the visible light cured composite resins and linear shrinkage increased significantly in Pekafil, Clearfil CR inlay, and Clearfil photo posterior between at the visible light cured and at the post-cure heat treated condition. The above results is saying that additional post-cure heat treatment on the composite resins for posterior restoration is able to affect on improvement of strength and fatigue toughness and lead to increase polymerization of composite resins.
