  • A total of 2,510 police personnel aged 20-59 were examined to determine the prosthodontic demands. The results were as follows. 1. Prosthodontic demands increase with aging. 2. Periodontic problem is the major cause of the prosthodontic needs in old personnel. 3. Trauma is the more popular cause of the prosthodontic need than periodontal problem in policeman. 4. The major cause of the untreatment is the lacks of time. 5. The younger persons have more fear of dental treatment. 6. Prostodontic demands show declining trends.

  • China is an ancient country that has one of the oldest civilizations on earth. Since the end of 1970s, China has made her administrative and economic reform and opening up to the outside world. Now the administrative and economic reforms has scored great success with a series of important accomplishments. China's peculiar political economy largely explained the changing reform initiatives over times. The problems confronting Chinese officials are markedly different from the West despite the fact the China and the West have engaged their efforts in undertaking administrative reforms in the last two decades or so. The purpose of this study is to analyze the bureaucracy, especially the police civil service system in China. Core features of the institution of China's civil servant system is discussed in this study.

  • Attempts have also been made to locate security in the so-called 'policingdivision of labour' In order to understand this, it is necessary to identify some of the links which exist between public police organizations and the private security sector. Such links can be divided into six types : 1) Interpersonal links, 2) Joint operations, 3) Exchange of services, 4) Granting of special powers, 5) Public bodies hiring private personnel, 6) New organizational. Van Reenen provides a useful outline of the different dimensions of future Glibalization of policing. Developments, he suggests, are likely to proceed in four directions : 1) Co-operation : at this level, the nature and powers of national police systems are not required to change, co-operation occurring between self-standing forces. 2) Horizontal integration : this arises when officers obtain authority to operate in another country, or where government officials from one country get authority over the police in another country. 3) Vertical integration : this exists when a police organization is created which can operate within the area of the EC as a whole. 4) Competition : the internationalization of policing in Europe presents itself, more and more, as a market in which different policing systems trade their products.

This study proposed to verification formality about appraisal result to desirable operation of police performancce evaluation system.   • Korean Medical Insurance Cooperation executed the physical checkup intended for all the members of public officials, school personnel in private schools, and the insured as a national-wide event in 1980. This is the result of a part of Taegu district and its contiguous country this hospital took charge of. Physical checkup method was divided into the first health examination and tile second health examination. The second health examination was executed for those who needed reexamination according to the result of the first health examination. After that, we passed judgement on the result finally. The total number of the first health examination was 10,779; 4,606 in public officials, 2,327 in police constables, 3,976 in school personnel in private schools. The classification of physical checkup is as follows; A group: normal groups B group: those who do not require immediate medical care but require preventive measures or who are doubtful of disease or who had undetermined diagnosis (attention) C group: those who require immediate medical care but who are able to be on duty (simple recuperation) D group: those who require immediate medical treatment and recuperation (suspension from office and recuperation) Total B group to the in the first health examination was 4.73%, that of total C,D groups 2.21%. That of total C,D groups to the total in the first health examination by occupation was 2.30% in public officials, 2.19% in police constables, 2.04% in school personnel. Consequently there was no different among occupations. Total C,D groups of hypertension to the total in the first health examination was 1.68% and hypertension was 76.05% to all disease. These rates mentioned to above were higher than any other rate in disease. Subsequently, being low, the rate of diabetes was 15.54%. From the view point of age, the higher rate appeared in men and women over 35 years old of B group and over 45 years old of C,D groups in three occupations in comparison with other ages and the older men were, the higher men who took a disease were.

  • This study verified the effect of public service motivation volunteer work on educational training of maritime police recruits. Results show sub-factors of motive for public volunteer work, self-sacrifice, commitment to public good and positive perception of public policy affected educational satisfaction, but one other sub-factor, compassion, did not affect educational satisfaction. The practical implication is that assets without form and that which exist internally within the individual, such as spirit of public volunteering and spirit of self-sacrifice, can increase educational satisfaction. Unlike ground police, maritime police bear the danger of being on water, which necessitates the need for enhencing intagible assets like public sevice value.

The Effectiveness of the 'One-Table One-Flower' Program on Job Stress Management of Police Officials

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of flower decorations on job stress and stress copying style of police officers. Flower decorations were done in the form of "one-table one-flower", in which flowers were placed on each desk in the office space. By analyzing color psychology, we first identified the symbolism of color, and selected the cut flowers in the same color. We selected six types of flowers in six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Each Monday morning, the flower decorations were delivered to the police station. We selected 50 subjects who wanted to keep flowers on their desks every week as the experimental group and 44 subjects who only wanted to participated in the assessment as the control group. Before and after the program, we examined the mean difference between the control group and experimental group. After six sessions of the program, there was a significant difference in job stress (p < .001) and stress copying style (p = .049) of the experimental group compared to the control group. Therefore, this study proved that having flower decorations in an office space is effective for the psychological stability of police officers that are highly stressed, due to sensory stimulations from the colors and scents of flowers as well as mutual interaction as they take care of the flowers.

  • The Moon Jae-in administration insisted on reforming the prosecution for the reform of power institutions, and also tried to control the power of the prosecution through the establishment of a high-ranking public officials criminal investigation office. Then, what is the direction of the legal prosecution reform? Above all, it is a logic to drastically reduce the power of the prosecution. How to shrink it? First, it is necessary to control or check the power of prosecution and investigation that the prosecution has. Second, the key to the reform of the prosecution is perhaps to separate personnel rights from power. In order to exclude external pressure from the prosecution's personnel rights, there must be no instruction or intervention from the attorney general. To do this, the prosecutor general must go through various personnel evaluations, such as multi-faceted evaluation. Third, the essence of the High-ranking Officials Criminal Investigations Act is to deal with crimes of prosecutors, judges, police, and members of the National Assembly. It is also the core of the institutional mechanism to cover the corruption of one's family members while holding all the right to investigate, prosecution, and warrant claims, and to check the omnipresent prosecutors who have abused their right to investigate for political purposes. Then, what is necessary for the success of the high-ranking officials criminal investigation office? Above all, We think political neutrality is very necessary. The Ministry of Airborne has a very high authority of the Director. This paper intends to examine the functions and roles of the prosecution and high-ranking officials criminal investigation offices to prevent corruption. We analyzed the contents of the prosecution and the public officials criminal investigation office, and examined the limitations and problems, and the measures to control corruption in public offices.
