TITIUS-BODE'S Relation and 55 Cancri

  • Two kinds of important issues on Titius-Bode's relation have been discussed up to now: one is if there is a simple mathematical relation between distances of natural bodies orbiting a central body, and the other is if there is any physical basis for such a relation. These may be tackled by answering a question whether Titius-Bode's relation is valid universally in exo-planetary systems. We have examined whether Titius Bode's relation is also applicable to exo-planetary systems by statistically studying the distribution of the ratio of rotational periods of two planets in an exo-planetary system, 55 Cnc, by comparing it with that derived from Titius-Bode's relation. We find that the distribution of the ratio of rotational periods of randomly chosen two planets in the 55 Cnc system is apparently inconsistent with that derived from Titius-Bode's relation. The probability that two data sets are drawn from the same distribution function is 50%. We also find that the Fourier power spectra show that the distribution of the semi-major axis of planets in the 55 Cnc system seems to be stretched. We conclude by pointing out that large numbers of planets should be examined to more convincingly explain the distribution of the distance of planetary formation regions.

On Mode Correlation of Solar Acoustic Oscillations

  • In helioseismology it is normally assumed that p-mode oscillations are excited in a statistically independent fashion. Unfortunately, however, this issue is not clearly settled down in that two experiments exist, which apparently look in discrepancy. That is, Appourchaux et al. (2000) looked at bin-to-bin correlation and found no evidence that the assumption is invalid. On the other hand, Roth (2001) reported that p-mode pairs with nearby frequencies tend to be anti-correlated, possibly by a mode-coupling effect. This work is motivated by an idea that one may test if there exists an excess of anticorrelated power variations of pairs of solar p-modes. We have analyzed a 72-day MDI spherical-harmonic time series to examine temporal variations of p-mode power and their correlation. The power variation is computed by a running-window method after the previous study by Roth (2001), and then distribution function of power correlation between mode pairs is produced. We have confirmed Roth's result that there is an excess of anti-correlated p-mode pairs with nearby frequencies. On the other hand, the amount of excess was somewhat smaller than the previous study. Moreover, the distribution function does not exhibit significant change when we paired modes with non-nearby frequencies, implying that the excess is not due to mode coupling. We conclude that the origin of this excess of anticorrelations may not be a solar physical process, by pointing out the possibility of statistical bias playing the central role in producing the excess.

인터랙티브 레이져 포인팅 마우스 시스템 (Interactive laser pointing mouse system)

  • 본 논문에서는 레이저 포인터 마우스를 이용한 윈도우 기반 인터랙티브 프리젠테이션 시스템을 구성하였다. 시스템은 발표자가 레이져 포인터를 사용하여 인터랙티브하게 프리젠테이션을 할 수 있도록 제공한다. 발표동안 디스플레이용 PC는 비트맵으로 포현되는 한 국부의 포인트 위치를 검출하고, 이 점은 프로젝터로 전달되어 디스플레이 된다. 디스플레이된 프리젠테이션 자료는 또한, 스크린에 있는 레이져 스폿을 모니터링하며 제어된다. 프로세싱 단에서는 미리 알고 있는 공간상의 패턴과 레이져 스폿을 일치 시키게 되며, 이에 따라 디스플레이 명령이 세팅된다. 이때, 디스플레이에 대한 명령은 컴퓨터로 전달되며 마우스 기능과 같은 동작을 얻을 수 있게 된다.

"경방실험록(經方實驗錄)"의 방론(方論)에 대한 고찰 (A Study on The Prescription Theory of "Gyeongbangsilheomrok(經方實驗錄)")

  • "Gyeongbangsilheomrok(經方實驗錄)" is a book that was written for the propagation of the thought of Gyeongbang(經方) theory in the early 20th century. Gyeongbang means the medicine in "Sanghanron(傷寒雜病論)" which was written by Jangjonggyeong(張仲景), who is known as a great doctor of ancient times in China. Gyeongbang had worked as a good model of medicine for a long time, but as time goes by, there appeared some physicians pointing out the limit of Gyeongbang and trying to overcome it. Through the effort like this, there gradually had appeared so many physicians carrying out the medical treatment which was getting out of the boundary of Gyeongbang. And There also had appeared a group of physicians, called Gyeongbangpa(經方派), opposing the opinion like this and defending the academic value of Gyeongbang. "Gyeongbangsilheomrok" had been estimated as a meaningful achievement of Gyeongbangpa tradition, and also had been regarded as a good book comprising copious basic theory about Bangje(方劑). The most significant assertion in this book is that it explained the Onbyeong(溫病) theory as a component itself in "Sanghanron(傷寒論)", which had been argued by many other medicians thinking that "Sanghanron" did not cover the treatment of Onbyeong. In regarding to this problem, "Gyeongbangsilheomrok" argued that the concept of Onbyeong in "Sanghanron" belongs to the category of Taeyangbyeong(太陽病) and also suggested that Galgeuntang(葛根湯) would be the main recipe for Onbyeong.

  • 지역축제가 성공하고 활성화 되기 위한 기존 선행연구 검토 결과, 지역축제의 성공요인으로 주제의 명확성, 참여성, 기반성, 구조성, 집객성의 다섯 가지로 설명하고 있는데, 명확성은 독창적인 주제(테마), 명확한 주제(테마), 명확한 목표, 명확한 축제 참여 대상 선정 등으로 정의할 수 있고, 참여성은 주민의 축제 전 과정에의 참여와 축제 즐거움의 향유 등으로 정의하며, 기반성은 지역축제를 위한 인재개발 및 교육, 지역의 특성화 등으로 설명하고, 구조성은 지역축제 조직체계, 예산확보, 전문성 등으로 정의할 수 있으며, 집객성은 홍보 및 마케팅, 접근성, 친절성, 편리성, 관광지 연계성, 먹거리 및 쉴거리 등으로 설명하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 충북 영동지역을 중심으로 지역축제 활성화를 위해서는 어떠한 요인에 더욱 중점을 두어야 하는지 설문조사를 토대로 하여 실증연구를 실시하여, 향후 지역축제 활성화를 위한 발전방향을 제시하였다.

  • 구조방정식 모델링은 경로분석 및 확인적 요인분석을 동시에 수행해 주는 통계적 절차를 따르고 있다. 오늘날이 통계적 절차는 사회과학 분야의 연구자에게 필수적인 도구이다. 구조방정식 모델링 분석을 해주는 대표적인 도구로는 (AMOS, LISREL and PLS)가 있다. AMOS는 초보자가 사용할 수 있도록 편리한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 제공해 주고 있다. PLS는 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스뿐만 아니라 정규분포에 대한 제약조건도 없다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 또한 사회과학 분야에서 가장 많이 사용하는 3가지 도구(Applications)를 비교분석 하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 한계와 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

전신마비 환자를 위한 EOG 기반 디스플레이 상의 응시 좌표 산출 (Extraction or gaze point on display based on EOG for general paralysis patient)

  • 본 논문에서는 EOG(Electrooculography) 신호를 이용하여 디스플레이상 응시하는 좌표를 산출 하는 방법을 제안하였다. 선형적인 특성을 가지는 EOG 신호를 기반으로 하여, 디스플레이와 EOG 신호의 2차원 좌표계 사이에 존재하는 회전, 스케일링, 원점의 차이를 머리의 움직임 대신에 보정 작업으로 일치시켰다. 1680*1050 해상도를 가지는 모니터에서 출력한 원의 좌표와 이를 응시 할 때 발생되는 EOG 신호에 보정 방법을 적용하여 산출된 좌표와의 비교로 성능을 평가하였다. 실험 결과에서 x, y좌표는 평균적으로 각각 56픽셀(3%), 47픽셀(4%)의 오차를 보여주고 있다. 이 연구는 전신 마비 환자를 위한 포인팅 장치나 가상현실 게임과 같은 애플리케이션을 위한 HCI(Human Computer Interface)로 활용이 가능하다.

Analysis of ATS Verification Results for MSC on KOMPSAT-2

  • MSC (Multi-Spectral Camera) system is an electro-optical camera system which is being developed to be installed on KOMPSAT-2 satellite. High resolution image data from MSC system will be transmitted to the ground-station through x-band antenna called APS (Antenna Pointing System). APS is a directional antenna which will point to the receiving antenna at ground station while the satellite is passing over it. The APS needs to be controlled accurately to provide the reliable communication with big RF link margin. The APS is controlled by ATS (Antenna Tracking Software) which is included in the MSC software. ATS uses the closed loop control algorithm which will use TPF (Tracking Parameter File) as an input for antenna position, and will use two resolve readings from APS as a feedback. ATS has been developed and verified using APS QM (Qualification Model) and all the control parameters for ATS have been tested and verified. Various kinds of maximum, nominal and realistic dynamics for the APS movement have been simulated and verified. In this paper, closed loop servo control algorithm and obtained APS position error from the verification test with APS QM will be presented in detail

국내 공연장 안전관리 실태 및 개선 대책에 관한 연구 (Improving Current Status of Safety Management for Domestic Performance Theatre)

  • It is a fact that domestic performance art has been sharply progressed but it is focused on only performance quality technique, not on safety of performers and the audience. It is a pity that people's effort to keep safe stage environment have not traced to innovative change, eventually leading to be forced to perform under hazardous condition. This study is to find out and identify that domestic regulation and accident cases are investigated and compared with cases of advanced countries, to verify that performer and the audience are main elements to develop performance art. And it is to show more effective safety measure after pointing out hazardous elements. Research change is limited to review only performance ones of all cultural facilities and to review accident cases from these places to show reasonable safety measures for stage facilities. Operation manager covers almost all of areas such as devices, management, despite a fact that they take charge of stage facilities, illumination, sounds, already. Some conclusions are as follows; 1) performance theatre-related regulations should be established again. domestic safety standards for performance theatre safety should be established. 2) characteristic and purpose of performance place should be clarified at the stage planning and design of them 3) operation expert performance place is required to be trained to cover emergency situation at any time.

In Vitro Cytotoxic Activity of Seed Oil of Fenugreek Against Various Cancer Cell Lines

  • In the present study, investigations were carried out to screen the anticancer activities of fenugreek seed oil against cancer cell lines (HEp-2, MCF-7, WISH cells), and a normal cell line (Vero cells). Cytotoxicity was assessed with MTT and NRU assays, and cellular morphological alterations were studied using phase contrast light microscopy. All cells were exposed toi 10-1000 ${\mu}g/ml$ of fenugreek seed oil for 24 h. The results show that fenugreek seed oil significantly reduced the cell viability, and altered the cellular morphology in a dose dependent manner. Among the cell lines, HEp-2 cells showed the highest decrease in cell viability, followed by MCF-7, WISH, and Vero cells by MTT and NRU assays. Cell viability at 1000 ${\mu}g/ml$ was recorded as 55% in HEp-2 cells, 67% in MCF-7 cells, 75% in WISH cells, and 86% in Vero cells. The present study provides preliminary screening data for fenugreek seed oil pointing to potent cytotoxicity against cancer cells.
