무단횡단사고를 고려한 노인 보행 교통사고 취약 지역 선정 연구 (Research on Selection of Vulnerable Areas to Walking Traffic Accidents for the Elderly Considering Jaywalking Accidents)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 보행사고 감소를 위해 도입되고 있는 교통안전시스템의 적용 지역에 대하여 우선 순위를 선정하기 위한 분석 방법을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 사고지점의 좌표 정보를 이용한 Kernel density Analysis를 통해 노인보행사고 및 노인무단횡단추정사고에 대한 밀도 분석과 두 가지 보행사고 형태에 대한 가중치 분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과: 노인무단횡단추정사고를 고려한 가중치 밀도 분석 결과, 노인보행사고 발생건수가 많은 전주시에 비해 군산시, 정읍시, 김제시에서 노인 보행 교통사고 밀도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 결론: 본 연구의 분석 결과는 교통안전시스템 도입을 위한 대상지 선정시 지표 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The authors have recently proposed a new method for identifying Volterra kernels of nonlinear control systems by use of M-sequence and correlation technique. A specially chosen M-sequence is added to the nonlinear system to be identified, and the crosscorrelation function between the input and output is calculated. Then every crosssection of Volterra kernels up to 3rd order appears at a specified delay time point in the crosscorrelation. This method is applied to a saturation-type nonlinear feedback control system of mechanical-electrical servo system having torque saturation nonlinearity. Simulation experiments show that we can obtain Volterra kernels of saturation-type nonlinear system, and a good agreement is observed between the observed output and the calculated one from the measured Volterra kernels.

Recognizing Static Target in Video Frames Taken from Moving Platform

  • This paper deals with the problem of moving object detection and location in computer vision. We describe a new object-dependent motion analysis method for tracking target in an image sequence taken from a moving platform. We tackle these tasks with three steps. First, we make an active contour model of a target in order to build some of low-energy points, which are called kernels. Then we detect interest points in two windows called tracking windows around a kernel respectively. At the third step, we decide the correspondence of those detected interest points between tracking windows by the probabilistic relaxation method In this algorithm, the detecting process is iterative and begins with the detection of all potential correspondence pair in consecutive image. Each pair of corresponding points is then iteratively recomputed to get a globally optimum set of pairwise correspondences.

A Novel Method for Hand Posture Recognition Based on Depth Information Descriptor

  • Hand posture recognition has been a wide region of applications in Human Computer Interaction and Computer Vision for many years. The problem arises mainly due to the high dexterity of hand and self-occlusions created in the limited view of the camera or illumination variations. To remedy these problems, a hand posture recognition method using 3-D point cloud is proposed to explicitly utilize 3-D information from depth maps in this paper. Firstly, hand region is segmented by a set of depth threshold. Next, hand image normalization will be performed to ensure that the extracted feature descriptors are scale and rotation invariant. By robustly coding and pooling 3-D facets, the proposed descriptor can effectively represent the various hand postures. After that, SVM with Gaussian kernel function is used to address the issue of posture recognition. Experimental results based on posture dataset captured by Kinect sensor (from 1 to 10) demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach and the average recognition rate of our method is over 96%.

  • Motorcycle industry, for its competitive position, depends on part design technology. This part design has a bulky amount of data and asks the accumulation of advanced technical skill and experience, and fragmentary technical application is not enough to get to the kernel of a problem. Therefore, the improvement of proper productivity - the starting point of engineering design - and useful Design Methodology for products manufacturing are needed. Thus this paper is aimed to create a program that outputs dynamic characteristics of a vehicle when the data from fully understanding on motorcycle's brake system and induced formula for brake design are inputted.

  • PIPS (Plant Information Processing System)은 발전소 입력신호를 이용하여 운전원에게 체계적인 정보를 제공하여 발전소를 안전하고 효율적으로 운전하도록 지원하는 발전소 감시 및 운전원 지원 시스템이다. UNIX 운영체제 및 workstation 상에 설계된 PIPS는 실시간 처리를 위한 kernel로 RTAP/Plus를 사용하였으며, SL-GMS를 이용하여 GUI (Graphical User Interface)를 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 계층적 구조를 갖는 데이타베이스 관리 시스템을 이용하여 개발된 PIPS 데이타베이스의 특성 및 구조에 관하여 설명한다. 또한, point name을 이용하여 계층적 구조를 구축하는 소프트웨어를 개발하여 울진 3&4호기 설계 자료로부터 데이타베이스를 구축하였다. 이 시스템은 HP 715/100 workstation과 HP-UX 9.05 운영체제 개발환경에서 개발되었다.

  • This paper introduces the new Direct Torque Control(DTC) method based on the estimated torque in Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) and applies the proposed DTC to SRM for the instantaneous torque ripple reduction. The nonlinear characteristics of SRM is considered in the calculation of the estimated torque and the theory is described in this paper. Current control is one of the kernel elements of torque controller and the performance of the current control should be high for this work. But the conventional PI current control has a weak point in SRM application because of motional EMF. Consequently, this paper makes up for the weakness of PI controller through present of new current controller, that is termed the non-interference current control. The ability of proposed torque and current controller is verified through simulation and experiment.

  • This paper deals with nonparametric estimation of discontinuous regression curve. Quite number of researches about this topic have been done. These researches are classified into two categories, the indirect approach and direct approach. The major goal of the indirect approach is to obtain good estimates of jump locations, whereas the major goal of the direct approach is to obtain overall good estimate of the regression curve. Thus it seems that two approaches are quite different in nature, so people say that the comparison of two approaches does not make much sense. Therefore, a thorough comparison of them is lacking. However, even though the main issue of the indirect approach is the estimation of jump locations, it is too obvious that we have an estimate of regression curve as the subsidiary result. The point is whether the subsidiary result of the indirect approach is as good as the main result of the direct approach. The performance of two approaches is compared through a simulation study and it turns out that the indirect approach is a very competitive tool for estimating discontinuous regression curve itself.

Identification of Volterra Kernels of Nonlinear Van de Vusse Reactor

  • Van de Vusse reactor is known as a highly nonlinear chemical process and has been considered by a number of researchers as a benchmark problem for nonlinear chemical process. Various identification methods for nonlinear system are also verified by applying these methods to Van de Vusse reactor. From the point of view of identification, only the Volterra kernel of second order has been obtained until now. In this paper, the authors show that Volterra kernels of nonlinear Van de Vusse reactor of up to 3rd order are obtained by use of M-sequence correlation method. A pseudo-random M-sequence is applied to Van de Vusse reactor as an input and its output is measured.
